Can anyone point me to a centro map or guide?[/QUOTE]It's a little confusing where you walked, but if you go to the intersection of Carrea 52/ Calle 52 this will basically be right in the middle of things with Parque Botero, the Museum, the Veracurz Church, and behind the Church a whole row of bars. If you were at the Veracruz Church you would of noticed the glass covered passageway which basically is the main artery of which girls walk thru. The Avenida de La Grief area is seperate from this area with it's own sub-set of bars / clubs and less girls standing around. If you don't recall being at Parque Botero with all of the sculptures or walking along the passageway as mentioned then you missed the areas where a lot of the girls congregate.

Perhaps you were at the area's I described, if not, go back again to the intersection of Calle52/ Carrea 52 and stand at that location or nearby, even in front of Hotel Premier Plaza and hang for an hour in the late afternoon. If you don't see something to your liking, or where already there, than in my opinion Centro is not for you, and there's nothing wrong with that.

The only thing that puzzles me is how Blakman could of inspired you about El Centro.

I was headed out of Plaza Botero to meet a friend at the San Jose church yesterday just before 5 PM. As I walked past the cafe across from Veracruz church something caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. It was a huge rat of the 4 legged variety galloping from the area of the Zona Rosa short time hotel a couple of doors behind me. Remember, this was just before 5 PM so the area was packed. There was barely an empty seat in the cafe. The rat ran into the cafe, under the tables and behind the counter. No one noticed it at first be cause the thing was running so fast. After maybe 30 seconds it ran out from under the counter toward the street and I pointed and shouted "look at the big rat", more out of shock than anything else. A pair of women with a young boy jumped up from their table and ran out of the cafe. Then the rat ran through the crowd and back into the cafe. This is when it got weird and absurd. One of the counter girls called the security guard. He went behind the counter looking for the rat. I showed him the direction it ran. When he started stomping around behind the counter it flushed the rat out and it ran back out into the crowded plaza. That is very unusual behavior for a rat. That's why I got the hell out of there. I wasn't trying to get bitten by a rat with rabies or God knows what else. The last time I had an encounter with a squirrel sized Centro rat was during the quarantine. It was so quiet in Parque Berrio a big fat rat was sunning itself out on the sidewalk where there is a taxi stand. There were no taxis and very few people at the time.

Thinking about it this morning, I am reassured I was attentive enough to notice the rat and its odd behavior before anyone else did. That is the way to be in Centro.
