Just back from Sosua. This was my first time there but I am a vet of some 25 trips to Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru.
I stayed at a private residence, so cannot comment on other accommodations.
Passions I went to a few times and is nice for short time and Peter is a great host, 2500 menu item and the girls were pleasant.
Beach--Hung out on the beach a lot and if you ever go, you need to check out Big D's Ribs and Chicken, Tienda 109. Derrick is from NJ and is grilling up some absolutely incredible Ribs and BeerCan Chicken with all the trimmings and very reasonable for the quality you get.
Chicas--Mostly went to Clasicos or just walking the streets. All I can say as compared to the other places I have been is that these chicas are CRAZY !!. I have never seen so many chicas try to change the agreement with you on price and time after you get back to your place as these chicas and I speak fluent Spanish. This to me was a real drag and made my temper flare and in general make my experience not so good. If I went again, I would bring a chca in from another part that was a legit and just enjoy the beautiful beaches.
Cabarete--Went there on a Sat. night and enjoyed the different vibe. More like South Beach/Ibiza but was so damn humid. Went to the disco Bambus and had a good time.
I am not a photo taking guy as the Internet can get people in trouble, but all in all was a good time, met some nice expat guys living there full time, but the CHICAS, very disappointing compared to Colombia as far as sticking to the agreed upon pricing and time.

After some deep reflection the other day, it occurred to me that I've never seen a pubic hair in Dominican Republic. Over two separate trips to Sosua, I got with a total of 9 chicas. Each one of them shaved clean. And I mean clean, no stubble, no shadow. Smooth. That goes for bar girls I picked up at Latinos/Classicos, three ladies at La Passion, two chicks who were friends-of-a-friend, and one Sosua chica who gave me a freebie. Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I prefer the hairless look and appreciate the good hygiene, but have I just struck good luck with each of these girls? Do all Dominican chicks lose the bush, or just those in the poontang business?
Someone either confirm my observations with their own, or explain.

In my many experiences I have not encountered a hair.
I've encountered a little 5 o'clock shadow on my Novia occasionally but it's gone by the next shower.
I ran into a waitress once with facial hair, her mustache was almost as thick as mine. But almost all Dominican women are very particular about being well groomed.

I have encountered very few Dominican women with facial hair issues, so you may want to do a closer inspection of your "novia".

Small dark haired mustache on a chica turns me off. They usually keep the facial hair under control, but on some of them the hair on the face grows back fast.

Most shave, but I have encountered quite a few who just keep it trim, and also many in various stages of growing out. Haitian girls seem to be less likely to shave. Anyway, shaving is pretty common, but by no means universal. I think it is much more common in the poontang business. One unshaven chica told me she couldn't shave, or her mom would know what she was doing.

Yudelfa/Yudy (my old flame - they made a mistake with her name and birthdate on her birth certificate) is actually the bigger one. The skinnier one, I forget her name, has an Italian boyfriend who she met online. The name of the website escapes me. I wouldn't say Diego is a bad guy. It's just that he is German and displays typical German attitudes, two of which are being direct and always being right. He runs that place with an iron fist. The locals who work there are scared shitless of him. As for a German example, one time my A/C wasn't working correctly. Didn't matter though because Sally was right and I was wrong despite my room being 100 degrees F. Just don't argue with them because you can't win. I had a better solution; to stop staying there.

Does she have lightened/reddish curly hair and braces on her teeth? I stayed there three days in August. If that's who you're talking about, she is fine, speaks good English, but is very snotty. No smile.
I wasn't in the hotel very often, but I swear, I saw one other guest only one time. (He was in that foul-looking jacuzzi with a big girl as black as licorice. The skinny desk chick was showing me around the place, and the two of them looked at us like we had barged into their home. Excuse us.) The hotel was deader than a graveyard. Do they have chicas there exclusively for the guests to partake? If so, I never saw one. I used the computer in the lobby a couple of times and shot the shit with the gun-toting Security man, but that was it for my hotel experience. I brought one chica to my room there. They were very tight with her security. Took her ID at the desk, examined it closely, etc.
If that desk chick with the braces was gettable, I missed a good opportunity. She was hot.
