Without wishing to suck up to Jackson, I think his point is entirely reasonable. This site provides information way in excess of $20 for anyone wishing to dabble in the p4p scene. The scheme of providing gratis senior membership to frequent contributors is very reasonable as probably 90% of the information is generated by say 105 of the members.

Truth be told, I was conflicted by the whole thing. One part of me was kind of grossed out by this display, and I realized I had an expression of utter disgust on my face. I looked around, and the staff and other girls were passively watching, as if nothing unusual was happening. But the poor girl was clearly uncomfortable, squirming slightly, leaning back as far as she could. But the large arms of Gentleman were wrapped around her, leaving her in the death embrace for sure. With this one, it struck me as a bit creepy, like the guy wasn't so much testing her out for compatibility/pliability as just abusing his power in the situation. From the way you describe it, to me it sounded like he gets his jollies enjoying the feeling of the powerless girl squirming in his clutches, kind of like a cat toying with a mouse its about to kill. I wonder, what would happen in a situation like that in most bars if the girl did protest and escaped from the guy, refused to go along with it.

I agree Wendella - I love Kumbu's reports, great writing and nice details. But this moment made me pause, because that guy just seemed to be a power-hungry creep (indeed, maybe a very dangerous person to the girls), not someone to admire.

Though it can be bloody hot and humid I love low season.

But the sense I got from it was that this guy was known to the mama san, i.e., he had been there before, probably taken a girl from there before, and she came back no worse for it. Presumably she reported back to mama san that the guy is a power hungry jerk, but that when he gets into the bedroom he blows his wad in 10 seconds and then sleeps like a baby. I suspect she would be fined. A girl I was talking to said to me that if a customer wants her, 'may pay maay daay', which I slowly figured out means 'you can't NOT go with the customer'. The fine is often excessive - this girl told me that it was 1000B for every incident, i.e., far in excess of the BF. So the girls really are in a tough situation, and I don't think the girl in my report could have resisted or left without serious consequences to her. And as you gentlemen suggest, the guy probably knew that and was taking advantage of it.

Glad some of what we taught you sank in but sad that you were not totally comfortable there, but it's your 1st time there so need to give it a chance to fit in. Pattaya could be a bit intimidating to a newbie.

No need to fear from me if you think of yourselve as a "cheap charlie", trust me you are not ,as you are just trying to play the game smart and get the correct prices--nothing wrong with that at all.
A cheap charlie in my books is someone who knows the rates and try to push it lower to some ridiculous number and if not successful will blame the ladies for not accepting the low offer , and then the drinks ,barfines etc.

And finally, you and I are in the same boat as I too have to work hard for my meager wages just to afford the occasional mongering vacation to get away from reality of work and life at home.

I would imagine the answer to be PS Guest House in Soi Yamato. This is the nearest to the beach road, although there are others on 2nd road and beyond.

I do a Beavis hee-hee, type in 1200 and I say that HE pays the tolls. He is now confused by tolls, so he calls his friend and gives me the phone. His friend asks me how much I want to pay, and I tell him 1200, but he has to pay the tolls. The guy says no. So I said ok, I will pay the tolls, but that's it. The guys says no, 1500. So I say, ok, tell the taxi guy to take me to the BTS - I will go to Ekkamai and take a bus. All of a sudden, 1200 + tolls seems pretty good, so we agree. But he says that this current taxi guy doesn't know his way to Pattaya, and we need to make a switch. So I tell him to be quick, and 10 minutes later I am in a different taxi with a new driver.

This guy seems older and more experienced. He turns to me and starts a new negotiation - how much you say? He hands me a piece of paper and a pen, so I write down the following: 1200 (tolls = 150). He looks at this, mumbles to himself, and counters with the following on the piece of paper: 1300 total. I was about to protest, saying that 1200+tolls comes out to more than 1300, but I agreed. So that was it - 1300 total payment for door-to-door service. It was a little expensive (I know you can get some taxis to go down there for 1000), but given my intense need to copulate, I just let the 300 baht go.

I arranged to be picked up by Pattaya Taxi. They pick you up at the airport. A guy has your name on a sign at the meeting area near arrival area exit 3 and 4. He takes the bag and we go to the parking garage. He pays the garage bill. He drives at 120 to 140 KPH and pays all of the tolls on the motorway. As we approach Pattaya, he goes around a barrier to take advantage of the highway extension. He then takes the back road that comes out on Sukhumvit near Central road.
