I am just leaving Jakarta after a two nights and one day and here are my impressions.

First of all in a previous post someone made a google map including many of the major venues. It was very helpful and here is the link:

I suggest printing out blow ups of various sections.

First night went to Top Gun which is inside the Block M complex. Took a taxi there, wandered around unable to find it and finally paid a cab driver 20,000 rupia ($2) to take me there. That saved me another 30 minutes of wandering around looking for it I'm sure.

Entered Top Gun and found a heaven of cute LBFM's dieing to have you take them home with you. I would say 80% of them were 9's in my book and I am fairly picky. Some I am sure were no older than 15 so check their ID's.

I decided to check out BATS which a guy I chatted with said it is a more "sophisticated crowd". As I was waiting for a cab outside a stunningly beautiful gal came out, and within one minute I decided why bother with another cab ride to another club when I have someone right here to cater to my needs.

Turns out she was 32, (could pass for 20), had a 5 year old kid, blah, blah. She later confirmed that some of the girls at Top Gun were as young as 15 so it wasn't just my opinion. She told me sending her kid to school costs 400K a month and that doesn't count supplies. She works in a salon washing hair during the day. Jesus, makes you appreciate civilization and the concept of public schools. Anyways we had a hour and a half of fun and I paid for her kids next 6 weeks of tuition.

Next day went to check out Lokasari Plaza where TC or Today Country is located. The plaza and TC has been extolled as a great place to find freelancers. Also 10 minutes away is the Hotel Travel which I wanted to check out.Got to TC around 3:30PM. Nothing happening and was told to come back at 5PM.

Went to Hotel Travel (again took a cab for a $1 ride to avoid taking an hour to find something that was a 10 minute walk). Entrance to the spa is on the left side. Search Hotel Travel in this forum to get more details. All I can say is that the quality was high, I was having a hard time trying to decide which hot 20 yo I was going to choose when a mamasan called one of her girls to close the deal. I was thinking that I wanted to look some more but this gal was as good as any of the young hotties so I figured to take the path of least resistance. Charge is 300K and tipped the girl 100K for an hour of pleasure.

Went back to Lokasari Plaza. TC is so dark you can't see much and there is a cover so I decided to pass however the girls going in and wandering around outside looked well worn unlike the fresh perky gals at Top Gun. Wasn't all that impressed but would check it out again if I was in the area after 5PM.

That night went to Bats at the Shangra La hotel. Everyone says this is where the best looking women are and they charge top dollar ($100 plus) but man what a disappointment. Mainly older saggy unattractive gals. Maybe a handful of the 100 gals there would merit consideration, the rest were not worth looking at. There is a 110K cover (which buys you a well drink) and a chance to see all the women you don't want to see.

I'll be passing through here on my way back home and will grab some 20 yo hottie at Top Gun for my last night.

An interesting philosophical point, I pay no tax here in Indonesia but I also pay 400k per month for my kid's school fees.

Back home my tax bill was topping 50% while the government fire-hosed eleventy squadrillion billion pounds annually at the health, education and welfare departments, all so that people could receive "free" public services. Of course the net result of that is whole generations of people, none of whom have ever done any work, "benefitting" from filthy hospitals where they join waiting lists to get on the waiting lists and a school system which turns out functional illiterates and where the only skill the teachers seem capable of imparting is how to put on a condom (a skill most of the pupils forget shortly after their twelfth birthday).

Here in Indonesia I get to choose which school my kid goes to, what they are taught while they are there, and even which teacher teaches them, the hospitals which charge me a fraction of my tax bill provide a superb service in spotlessly clean wards with doctors who see me when I ask them. I also get to choose which particular hard luck story in society to help out with financial assistance rather than have a Red Army sized bureaucracy forcibly remove a massive whack of my earnings on pain of jail time in order to shovel it willy-nilly at every loser and dead beat with a permanent hand out.

I know which "civilised" society I prefer.

Incidentally there is free basic education for all children in Indonesia. If your lady friend is paying 400k a month she has opted to send her son to a fairly decent private school (cheap here aren't they?). For some perspective, Shangri La is among the top five hotels in Jakarta, BATS' customers are well-heeled locals, wealthy ex-pats and rich foreign businessmen, my guess is that in a similar bar in New York or London or Los Angeles you'd also meet glamorous looking thirty-something women who also work as "beauticians/stylists/whatever" and who also are there to earn money to pay their kids' school fees.

How much would such women cost you for a night of romance? I'm guessing about six weeks tuition fees, would I be in the right ball park do you think?

Another work week in Jakarta, but managed to fit in some fun worth reporting.

Two visits to CJ's seeing as I was staying in the Mulia. Tuesday night was a sausage fest - far more men than women, although a number of the women were brought in as dates. A smattering of freelancers, mostly hanging around the inner bar seeing as the music was too loud for them. New band from all over and they were pretty good, but I would agree on the volume. Stayed until 10:30 or 11:00 but the sausage fest was not for me.

The second night in there (Thursday, got there later and pretty much nothing going on. Did a lap and left without getting a drink.

Two trips to Travel Hotel - two girls each trip. First one each time was spectacular and great service. Second one each trip was a big step down in service, and one in looks. Stay away from Effi in the first group on the left, but grab Nia if you can - just fantastic. I would have done a third girl each time if the second rounds were anywhere near the first.

Stopped into Today Country on Friday late afternoon and absolutely nothing going on there - 3,000 cover but flipped my bottle of water into the bin and did not even crack the seal. Really slim pickings.

Usual damage 2 X 300 each time plus a tip.

I hold the passport, watch the EPL, follow the English cricket team but as for the politicos, the Health and Safety crap that has blighted the country, the immgration that is causing cultural friction, the " don't say that you might offend them" mentality,. Its a case of Broken Britain. A once proud country decimated by know nothings and do nothings.

My kids have received a vastly superior education in the international schools they have attended worldwide, and the medical attention in HK, Singapore, Manila, BKK vastly superior to the long lines and careless attention that my parents receive in UK

eddie, kl guy is right ..no way u are getting 400 k ! even if you look like brad pitt . i think it's controlled price at 600k , or 250 k for short time of 1 - 3 hours . even then , the price applies for bookings after 7.00 pm. i may be wrong !

anyway as for the direction of hse 75, as you coming from the main road of mangga besar approaching travel's hotel, abt 50 meters from travels, there's a left turning , take that road and u will reach a t junction . turn right and walk down for about 200 m till u reach a budget hotel on the right side of the road. no. 75 should be two shops away down the road from the budget hotel .

by the way, a taxi driver offered me a while ago for models st going for 450k and state location taman sari. ok . , now i know it's bull story .. models my ass ! st should be the range of 250 k to 300 k .

Had to do an emergency business trip back to the Big Durian. Work kept me busy all weekday nights, but finally on Saturday I manged to escape for some R&R. A fairly new place called King Cross in Kelapa Gading has gotten a lot of good reports in local web forums, so I decided to try it out.

K C is an upscale one stop entertainment place, but without spa facilities. Exact address is Komplek KOKAN Permata Kelapa Gading Blok C no. 9-12A, but just look for Delta Spa/King Cross/Sumo Shiatsu Spa signs cos all of them are in the same area.

Arrived around 2 p m. First the check-in reception. Then into the ground floor biljard room. There is a nightclub with strippers on the 3rd floor. Open from 8.30 p m to 3 a m. According to other reports it suppose to be wild. The afternoon selection of girls consisted of five cewek in pink uniforms. All young and at least three of them fitted with a C-rack.
