I still hoping to received more advises from Thailand veterans over if it worth for me to spend 2-3 nights in Pattaya than BKK, in terms of girls qualities. Economically wise & of coarse attitudes and services rendered from girls between these two areas?

I have been a staying BKK In some occasion but mainly focus on Beirgarten ladies since I feel gogo girls in NEP tense to be more of attitude specially I am not a young nice good looking guys than any western man nor Jap guys that known for paying good price that allure these bar girls than anyone of us. Not to initiate any racial dispute but this seems to be planted in the mind of Bar girls specially those young nice looking one at NEP that tense to opted serving Japanese man than other nationality.

Since Pattaya may be due to more high competition, so much wonder if this will make those bar girls there more of non selective as to their counterparts in BKK I. E. NEP or soi cowboy area?

That said if you've been to BKK and not Pattaya it might be worth it just to see the differences Pattaya totally blows BKK away in terms of Beer Bars and gogo clubs. If you could figure out how to stay a week or two that would be ideal.

Given your stated non Go Go criteria? My answer to you is absolutely yes. Don't hesitate. You should go to Pattaya for a 3 night weekend! And when you get there be sure to check out Soi 6. Then afterwards just walk around and check out as many various Beer Bar complexes and small bars as you want. They are scattered all over the place like the small beer bars on Soi 7 between Beach Road and 2nd Road and the ones near LK Metro on Soi Diana and adjacent sois between Soi Buakhaow and 2nd Road, and of course the Simon Beer bar complex on Walking Street. I think you will find exactly what you are looking for times several 1000 in many of the 100's and 100's of small places all stocked with friendly, available girls just waiting to make your acquaintance if you so desire. LOL. I think you will have a great time!

The trick is to get what we hope the term "no problem" means in our heads colloquially into the mind of a Thai speaker even as we have over time bent the meaning of "no problem" to sort of mean a softer, less rude version of "nevermind" in actual use. Consequently, IMO, "mai pen lai/rai" is the much better fit for what we very likely mean when we say "no problem" in English.

I think if we promoted the idea that all this "mai pen rai" stuff going on all over Thailand actually meant what we usually think of when someone says "nevermind" to us, it would seem a lot more rude than it actually sounds to Thai people. And that is where I believe saying it means "no problem" (as that term sounds to our ears these days) rather than "nevermind" (as THAT term tends to sound to our ears these days) is a closer fit for explaining it in more common usage.

I'm back in Thailand for the first time in about 5 years, and I'm struck by the differences between the present and the country I remember over multiple visits covering maybe 25 years. I decided on the spur of the moment—literally on the way to town from the airport—to stay at Nana Hotel, mostly because I'the never done so. It's a sort of wonderfully seedy place and for a couple of nights, it's interesting and I'm not sorry I selected it.

I arrived at Nana Plaza about midnight last night, and was disappointed not only with the quality, which was way below what I had remembered, but by the general aggressiveness of the bar managers. Granted, many if not most of the stunners may have been spoken for earlier, but for the most part, those I saw were a waste of time for me. I finally wound up in a bar on the opposite side of the second floor from Twisters. It was a smaller, friendlier place but again, the endless hustling for drinks was somewhat unpleasant, and I got sick of fending off the attempts. Then too, the girls were so businesslike that the whole experience was less than enticing. I doubt that I'll return, as in my judgment, compared to the Philippines experience, the place just leaves a lot to be desired. I'll likely try Cowboy tonight, but have no elevated expectations, and anticipate that it will prove to be more of same.

I worked in Bangkok years ago, and have been back to the country many times during the intervening years, but I think the place has about run its course for me.

Like you, I have been working and visiting Bkk (and Thailand in general) since 1984 and I am always excited to return there from my home in Manila.

Unlike you, I find Bkk exhilarating these days even when one takes away the mongering aspect. There are so many things to do and see, great food experiences, and the efficient train system (underground and above) makes it effortless to get around. Bkk is my first thought whenever I contemplate 3 or 4 days away from the Phils.

And for those who might feel "who cares?" how interesting and exciting the city is if the usual mongering destinations are not what they used to be, all I can say is it provides so many more pleasant and fun experiences I can share with my dating site girls, regular shop girls and freelancers who, by far, have been providing me with better sex with younger, prettier girls than I ever experienced in Bangkok before, even 20-25 years ago when I was cruising the bars and clubs for the best that scene could offer.

I still do the Nana Plaza and Soi Coyboy scene at least once a week and really enjoy it. This is perhaps my 6th visit in about two years BKK and I can't remember that I have been annoyed by it. Perhaps once in BKK Bunnies which was during my first time. I have been there yesterday as well, both Soi Cowboy and Nana. (Not that I want to discourage you but Soi Cowboy was worse than Nana according to me during the time of my presence which was between 9. 30 and max 11.00 pm).

Usually I step into a bar and have a look for about 20 seconds. If the vibe is alright I will sit down and order my drink. One drink gives me about 20 minutes or more to decide whether I will have another one or not. It gives me the time to have seen two shifts of girls dancing on stage. I believe that 20 or 30 minutes max for a drink is reasonable.

At the end of the day they're running a business and sometimes it's funny to see people sitting with their drink for a very long time and I can understand that the waitresses or mamasans hassle those customers especially when they're having a full house. I don't want to give the impression to GoodEnough that you're one of those people. I usually completely ignore the waitresses or mamasans and keep my eyes on the stage. Same goes when I walk into a bar and stand there for a while. I don[t bother waitresses trying to pull me somewhere and have a seat. I never had a problem with it. Whenever a waitress as me for a drink I politely say no if there's still left in my bottle and they move on. Same goes for those WG's who come and sit next to you and try to start having a conversation. I'll always reply when they ask me something but I'll make it clear that there's no chance that I'm interested in them buying a LD. I wish them good luck with the hunt while I keep my eyes on the stage. They might stay there and sit for a while which doesn't bother me. Perhaps my body language makes it clear for them that I don't have the "potential" to make more money out of me.

I've been "guilty" of using both terms somewhat interchangeably over the years and never encountered misunderstandings. I think "mai pen rai" is more BKKish while "mai pen lai" is more Issan. Those lazy northeasterners. LOL Maybe that is why my Issan "acquaintances use "mai pen lai" over "mai mee bahn hah" when "no problem" is what they mean. Just Issan language "economics". A Cheap Charlie way of expressing themselves. LOL.

Arrived in BKK yesterday and wanted to have a good start so went to Snow white and chose Candy. You can find a very short report about Candy in the right thread. I was a bit concerned about the latest reviews regarding Soi Cowboy and started very early going over there from Mermaid Hotel. Perhaps a bit too early as the place was perhaps waiting to get loaded. I thought to go and have a quick bite due to the lack of people (went for some slices of pizza in Pala Pizza Romana. If you want to eat fast and good I don't think you can go wrong with this place. Third time I'm eating there and never got disapointed) . It might have been a mistake though not to go into any bar. I passed both Crazy House and Shark without popping my head in at around 8. 30 pm. I guess that we all live and learn.

After the pizza I went directly to Shark Bar. Even though the first shift of ladies weren't that good looking I thought I would give it a try because Shark Bar didn't disappoint me in the past having at least 1 or 2 lookers that I would be interested in but not this time. If they would have put a gun against my head and choose one I would have go for 22. She's there for a while, brown hair in a ponytail, rather short and good body but fake tits and face doesn't appeal to me. Ass is alright. She was taken by another punter eventually just before I left Shark after 1 drink and started to wander on Soi Cowboy. After going up and down SC I walked into Dollhouse where the girls seemingly had some good fun on stage. The quality of girls was definitely better than in Sharks with for me number 34 standing out of the pack. Petite and well proportioned, perhaps small tits but all difficult to see with that kind of shirt on. Nicely dressed though with a hotpants light colored jeans but who cares but me I guess. Forgot the exact name, perhaps Phon or Fon. Her number was 238 even though I was thinking for a while that she was number 3. The two other numbers were faded away a bit. A petite girl who had quite some fun on stage. Nice ass and legs but no tits. Face was ok. Reminded me a slight bit of #4 in Crazy House named Jane but only a slight bit. I choose her to have a drink with me but then realized that she barely spoke English which was a big shame. I'm quite picky or perhaps I was getting hopeless so as it was late I wanted to take my chances with her, however. Due to the fact that the English vocabulary was as good as non existing I just let it go. Not that much else to be said from the conversation. From Isaan (duh!) and only working in Butterflies for about 2 months she said. So far the conversation.

Headed to Billboard and even though the tenderloin was already taken BB never disappointed me until today. Always a good vibe and energy, good music for my taste and girls are having fun. I always seem to be lucky with the spot I usually want to sit even though it's packed. Spot gives me the chance to watch both Jacuzzi and carousel without having to turn around even though I like the Jacuzzi girls the most. But as I have mentioned, the lookers weren't there anymore (at least I hope that they still have some lookers!) and left after a drink. I have popped my head into some other venues such as Rainbow 4, Twisters and some other places not worth mentioning but due to the lack of decent looking girls or not great ambience I decided to call it a night.

On my way home passed by Crazy House just to have a look inside but as it was already 1. 30 am you can imagine that there wasn't that much to look at anymore. Better luck perhaps today.

Only one of the many resources available in this city of course, and familiar to many globally. But useful to me on occasion in BKK. Usually pre-arrival to set up a meeting. I've used it in several cities including BKK, with mixed results it has to be said, but the overall experience was positive if more than a little frustrating in some cities.

CL contacts in BKK in general were overpriced in comparison to other available options, and there were some scammers too. But one of better cities for CL reliability, in my opinion.

The only other similar site I have seen (many pages back here, I forget the name) was in Thai so focused on locals and Thai speakers (and online translation apps). TF and other dating sites can be frustrating in BKK, hard work, but in Pattaya much easier. WeChat seems full of ladyboys, but some freelancers too (must report on a good recent find in Pattaya thread). Haven't used any others yet.
