The fact is there are lots of sob stories here, some of which are even true, and there are lots of big hearted guys who want to feel that they have the means to help others in need. Yes, there are lots of scam artistes, and yes, some of the stories are pure fiction, but I don't believe that sending modest amounts of money affects the price of P4 P one way or the other. The only differences between the Internet-based stories and those recounted face-to-face is one of distance.

They ofcourse had no intention in meeting the guys and did a swift experiment in my room and I watched closely. I don't remember the ammount for both but as in a 20 min work the first girl got 1000 piso in total and if you work that way for a few hours she could earn a decent daily salary only bullshitting guys. Maybe in time I have lost a few gems enroute but since the barrels are full of girls hooking a new one is not exactly great science. So in this aspect, money small and everything, I don't like beeing treated as a fool so to me it is just about having certain ground rules I stand by.

Mind you, Skype seems to be getting worse and worse. Barely a day goes by without me or one of the others having to drop and rejoin the call because it's either half speed (underwater) or double speed (chipmunk), or simply no voice at all. However, when it *does* work, it's far better quality than what YM is (or at least was, last time I used it).

One I encountered with a rich Filipino friend of mine. He knew what she was, so did I, but she really had traveled the world, knew all those places extremely well as I did, talked the talk, and never let on what she was. She was very smart and clever.
Another I met on a flight from Manila to Bangkok. Again a really impressive talker. Had a work permit in Singapore, but always shifted talk away when I probed for details. She was meeting an Aussie in BKK who I saw at the airport when we arrived. Again, obviously a top end hooker. She later contacted me and wanted to chat with me from Singapore, but I did not follow up as these type girls are looking for many $. This year I've had total four trips to the RP already and it has been quite a shagfest when I haven't been working. In this time I have met three ladies whom have done an excellent job of portraying the "I've never done this before, innocent pinay" ploy.
