Pleasure cruises to the Phils cannot be fully appreciated by a western man until you are 40 to 50+ and have had enough of the bullshit associated with spoiled western women. By then if you have enough disposable income or your work takes you there as some of the habitual posters here, you will as a middle aged man be able to appreciate young ladies treating you like your first dreamy high school GF did and with the same tight body to match. Its best to wait until you are much older, have your kids already if you are so inclined and get that out of your system. So yes, Sammon is correct in many cases, for families struggling to escape poverty and / or for families incapable of providing better lives for their daughters. However, Angeles and / or Burgos and their equivalents are not representative of the entire country, which tends to be much more conservative than the prior post would assume.

I'm not trying to be anyone's moral arbiter here. People can do what they like and behave as they like. There are many intelligent, well off, beautiful, confident women in the Philippines who have no need to settle for anything but their ideal guy. (Dare I say there is more class snobbery in the Philippines than in most Western countries?) However, statistically the wealthiest two tiers of Filipino society you describe are a miniscule part of the population. Anybody who meets, say, a theoretical sample of 100 random Pinays would meet a lot (50? I defer to the more knowledgeable) of women either desperate for survival or willing to risk a heckuva lot for a chance at a "better life". Add to that the small minority of "liberated" and "open minded" women from the generally much more conservative Filipino versions of middle and upper class. With all of that together isn't it fair to make a few general observations about men's possibilities? Of course by no means are "all" Pinays available, but if the odds weren't much more in our favor the Philippines would no see many of us return. Even if Burgos St, AC and LA Cafe disappeared, it's still fish in a barrell whether looking for short-term or long-term companionship. I don't deal with the 1% in the Philippines, but with the middle class a civilized Western guy who is or can pretend to be respectful, professional, (financially) "stable" and can endure some excruciating family socializing can get lots of amazing girls. Maybe not a generation younger, but half of one for sure. Maybe my experience is not representative. I think you've spent much more time there. But I call it like I've seen it.

There are a hundred different reasons why Thai women are better and there are just as many reasons why Filipinas are better. But none of that helps to decide which is better for you. To make it more difficult, you will probably find differences between girls In AC and girls in Cebu, and you'll find differences between Bangkok and Phuket.

The only way you'll find the answer is to experience it for yourself, and isn't that better than someone else giving you the answer?

Lately I have 2 Angeles area gfs bugging me that they need the HPV vaccine. Both are in thier early 20's 1 already worked in a bar and neither are close to virgin. So now Angeles doctors are trying to push that vaccine on girls with a source of foriegner cash. What a crock of typical filipino BS. Its 3 shots for like 3500 each.

I try to send them to the websites to get educated but its hopeless. If I got sick in the Phils I'd go to a shaman before I'd trust one of thier so called doctors. I use thier dentists for teeth cleaning 3 times a year its pretty cheap like 700 pesos here in the US I can't get out of a dental appointment for less than 100 USD they are always pushing Xrays. The last random Davao dentist said I had 12 cavities LOL I'm in my mid fifties and I never had a cavity in my life. Cleaning is all I trust them for as well.

God help all you expats and guys living there for your work at the mercy of that medical system.

Does not many of the expats (US ones and former military guys) have access to some military hospital treatment also here in phils?? Is that also like playing russian rullette? I've exclude myself from how bad it can be as I only have experience from the mentioned one and during a small crises I also stopped by Makati Med (also great if you choose the fast line) In Makati med to be sure they actually called my inhouse doc in Norway to sort out some issues I was not able to explain. My inhouse doc was very happy recieving this call at 3 am in the morning.

I've been very happy with the shaman-free treatment I've received at Makati Med. I'd say it's near a first-world level, but my experience has all been on an out-patient basis, so can't opine about advanced procedures such as heart transplants and limb re-attachment. With a girl I visited hospital in Paranque and that was a crowded, disorganised, and slow dump. Her doctor seemed a bit unknowledgeable too. The biggest hassle in hospitals here is having to bounce to and fro between the doctors' offices and the cashier. They really like to take their time to collect payment.

Since you're averse to seeing local doctors I should mention that in many places in the world the deceased aren't embalmed, so finding a local mortician who knows how to do so may prove tricky. If you want your intact, uncremated remains shipped back for burial in the US you may want to save your bereaved loved ones the hassle of figuring out the Philippines export and US import requirements by planning ahead.

If HPV vaccine is a scam then it is a million times more scam in the western countries. I only have surface knowledge about this vaccine but think it has its merits. But then I have probably been scammed on the hepa A & be vaccines along with polio and other childhood vaccines without my legal age consent.

I must say that with my limited but several experiences with medical professionals that they did a decent job. Of course you are not going get the disease detecting experts unless you are in the world class clinics or hospital. But overall decent medical help considering the conditions and locations. Even with great doctors I doubt if it would make much difference as most Phil people couldn't afford the medications. Sadly most people die earlier here without affordable medical and medications for a lack of a few dollars.

HPV is a very common virus amongst adults. I recall reading up to 80% of adults are carriers but most are asymptomatic. In many cases the body's own immunity can fight off the virus. This isn't HIV, herpes or hepatitis. But yes, if one is uninfected being vaccinated is a good idea. Is a sex worker in AC uninfected? Unlikely.

Based on 194 studies comprising 1,016,719 women in total. The actual prevalence rate worldwide as estimated by this analysis is 11.7%. Not quite the 80% you 'remember'. More specifically the rate for SEA was reported as 14.0%. Age-specific HPV distribution presents with a first peak at younger ages (<25 years) so this represents exactly the population that HPV vaccination is targeted at.
