He's kind of like a gay guy, who instead of fully coming out of the closet, he vacillates at times. It must be rough for him, kind of like living in what might be several parallel universe (s) for him.

The more I think about his situation, which sounds so dire at times, especially with the 30 minute knocking episodes, it appears as though that he has yet to establish a default venue, with El Centro not yet being that.

I suspect over time, El Centro will become the default for him, as it appears that more and more of escapades are happening in El Centro versus in his apartment.

And if you aren't, you should always carry a foto copy of your ID on you which I assume you do, and in your case since you don't have a Cedula and want to go in a store, there may be some who have never even seen a Passport before, and I don't know if they would just look at the last number of your Passport to determine if you get to come in on an even or odd number day like they are doing with Cedulas.

Maybe you should prepare a couple of flash cards to carry around with you in El Centro, with what your looking for. Something of interest though for others is the situation you were in when the girl demanded payment upfront. You are correct about this latest incarnation of pico / cedula. In fact, the restaurant owner associations are celebrating the fact that their businesses are explicitly exempt. The spirit of the rule is you are supposed to avoid moving about when it is not your pico cedula day. In practice it's only the malls and large stores that are enforcing it. In fact, by the second month of the lockdown all but the largest stores like Exito stopped enforcing it. It definitely does not apply to the rat's nests of Centro.
