Prajinda got booted out from being the dictator (by you know who) at some point (I guess later 90's). My timeline is sketchy now.

I don't see though that the lastest financial crises really helped us out much though. The previous one was seeing 40 to 50 Baht to the US Dollar. That was good for mongers but could not last. It was a fantastic time to buy cheap property in Bangkok though if you were Thai or had other ways.

The short time Hotel in Soi Asoke has a lot of Asian guy customers, and I would estimate that 70 to 80% of them are with a ladyboy rather than a real girl. It is not possible to relive those days presently. The club I enjoyed the most during the last 3 months was Sharks where there were a few 9's the best of which in my books was Esther. However, the down side is that all the 9's were Asian hunters and delivered less than desirable service, however, the optic factor was available. Oase also had a few 9's which for me the best was Katrrina (some guys don't like her face but I do), she's tall and slender and gave me good service for 100 euros / 1 hour. Globe in Switzerland is reputed to have some 9's who give good service but I did not venture there due to its pricyness. I have also been informed that Wellcum FKK also has a few 9's.

I was in Brazil for 3 months earlier this year in search of 9's but did not find any. The upper end boites like Scandallo and Bomboa in Sao Paulo are reputed to have some 9's. Prior to 2010 I was able to session some 9's in Medellin Colombia but have only encountered 1 since then in Loutrons. There is mention of top level girls on the Montreal board but I have not been able to summon the mental financial gumption to sample there. I've been to these places quite some times. Not because I like it there, but to entertain clients, staff, or being invited by the bosses. Successful foreign Asian businessmen and wealthy Thai's like to entertain their clients, associates and friends in these elite high class honky tonks. The idea is the more you spend on drink and the girl's company for the benefit of your guests, the more successful a businessman you are in their eyes. It is smart business and good customer/client relations Asian style. These guys can even write off the tab as a business expense. Other club members are simply wealthy and don't care what a night out costs as long as they are having a good time with their friends in a high class bordello. La Belle and The Lord (in it's day) offered private memberships too. There were nights when I have seen over 20 girls taken out of the lineup for a private party God knows where elsewhere on the premises leaving only the dregs available for the rest of us. Membership has its privileges.

On the other hand, I would tend to agree with you that most of the Pimp Club girls, for example, are not above the better Go Go quality girls even though they are from a different region of Thailand. But there are a few exceptions that stand out in the looks department. Thus, developing a relationship with one of the standouts is the reason why a solo Farang punter like myself might consider paying up and becoming a member at one of these joints. Girls looks are subjective and, as Natty said, you can likely find girls as hot at a good gogo bar. However, gogo bars are not what I would ever consider 'posh'.

And remember, more than half the G club girls are not available for barfine. They are in-house VIP room only girls and offer only the possibility of hooking up later if everything goes well.
