I get the Thai analogy. Though see it as a simple issue of supply and demand. We aren't fixing the price of silver, and we aren't doing the lords work. It's about a fair exchange of value. If Karma is required to be part of the equation. Then I'm cool with that so let's do the math.

Earning income of average shop girl. About p40 an hour or p360 a day. Just for reference, that's what Philippine National Bank pays it's customer support operators. If I can have a girl for p2500 then she is making 9 days of salary or almost $25. 00 US an hour for the 90 minutes or so I will make use of her gifts.

This is a great deal for everyone concerned. It's a number I can feel good about.

Sometimes less is more. I've seen the effect of huge amounts of cash on these girls and it's not pretty. It can destroy the girl, her family (who become immediately dependent on her revenue), it will prevent her from going to school. Or moving on with her life / developing a career. Also, judging by the amount of half white children it may lock them into the parenting cycle. Obviously, we can't be responsible for the actions, lifestyle or karma of others. Key point is "fair exchange of value" that is all any one is saying here. I am not a cheap charlie and i am not trying to put one over on these girls by getting a bargain. I just want both parties in the deal to be happy. Like the saying says the best deal is one in which both parties win!

If we underpay or over work these girls they are going to leave thinking this business is not for them any more. Conversely if we over pay, they are going to leave thinking that every time they should get some kind of an outrageous fee!

The best thing to do is spend the time, talk to the veterans of several Pinay campaigns and get a feel for what the rates and expectations are from both sides of the deal. As is pointed out alot of places on this board the women in Havana Cafe or LA Cafe will be happy to let you know the costs and time estimates up front. I find this is the only way to go with any working girl.

I think we can all agree that there are 2 different type of guys here. The one that comes on vacation once every year or 2 years. They are the type that would over spend and I really understand how that it. They don't want to walk away from the girl of their dream because they may never find her again therefore they are willing to over spend to have her. After all, they have been saving for this vacation for a year and they are there for the time of their life. Then they would go back to their country, work hard and save for next year. They don't care if they pay over the market and ruin it for the next guy because they won't be back for a long time, if ever.


Then there are the guys who either lives there or have the availability to come every couple of months. They will watch what they spend and will not pay over the market. They are willing to walk away from a pretty girl if she want more than the going rate. After all, there is another girl just down the street. And if they don't get the great girl this time, they can always wait and find that perfect girl the next time they come. So they will watch what they spend and will try to keep the market down.

There are probably a few permutations of your 2 extremes. But what is your point.? What of it all?

Just left MNL and miss it already. I'm in Asia several times a year, but have a soft spot for MNL. As always, there was a lot of eating, pampering, and mongering involved. If I lived there, I'd never work! Plenty of great stories from LA and Edsa; but won't bore you with the same thing.

Different from previous trips, I walked the Malate area also, and checked out some of the smaller bars near LA and Amazonia. Just up the street near the Hyatt, there is a bar with WG (not freelancers), but the quality is a tad below LAC. Went there twice and passed both times. If you make the effort to walk down to UN Avenue and cross over to Mabini, there are 6 "bars" that also have a lineup of girls (anywhere from 3-10, depending on the hour). BF pricing is fixed at P1500 for all day. One mentioned not to tip, the other requested tipping is up to you. A lot of the scavengers are willing to show you these bars, and apparently pocket about P300 for bringing you there.

I took one girl from a place on Mabini, and ended up being a disaster! She got pissy and moody, wouldn't perform at all. I gave up completely and returned with her to the bar, but of course, couldn't get any kind of refund. This pissed me off to no end, but realize I walked away without any knife wounds, so that's a positive. My take is that the quality of girls is just below that of LA, but they have no incentive whatsoever to perform. At least in LA, they work for themselves and possibly want repeat customers. Most of us had some pretty good experiences there. At these other bars, there is a pimp and the girls just don't give a flying f***. This is probably the reason very few reports talk about these places. In addition, this is a scummy area and doesn't feel that safe. Certainly there is no recourse, no refunds, lots of bad karma. my two cents

Just out of the airport on the left there are people offering you cars. Better to avoid them since prices are ridiculous. So go on till you find the metro tax which are very cheap. I went to Isabelle Royal Hotel in Makati. Not difficult to find since it is along Makati Avenue two blocks after some bars like Flamingo and Pussycat. So nice location for who is interested in mongering in that area. Nice place. More apartments than rooms. Damage is 1.500 per night queen size bed, no breakfast but you can have it not far in the avenue. Avoid room 503 with terribly noise bed and no mirror in the bathroom. Much better the 903. So I went for a walk and reached SMall Asia in Manila Bay. And had a look around. I was hungry so I went to French Baker or something like that. What was nice is that I found working there Maria, a nice girl of 31, single, no children, a bit too fat for my taste but very nice and great smile. I talked to her a bit but not too much since it was her working time. I left her my hotel and room number on a cared and I went back to wait. Her duties finished about at 4 pm and about 30 minutes later she called me and we agreed for a dinner together. We went to Manila Bay for that in a Chinese restaurant front of the seawater. Very nice and sweet conversation. I asked her whether she was interested in few days in some beach resort and she said yes but she was scared both of planes and ferry. She refused to come to my hotel that night and promised to be there the following morning at 9 am. And it is what she did. She said on job she was sick. We went by taxi to Batangas. Three hours drive for 2.500 pesos. When there we avoided Virgin resort which looked as the best one but also by far the most expensive. And no people there. Which I did not like. Tried another place I do not remember but no credit card accepted so we went to Palm Beach. Good people and good prices, 12.000 for 3 days, 2 people, everything included. We had three nice days together. Good but basic sex with Maria and nice time swimming, sunbathing, walking, eating and doing nothing. The best moment was a nice fuck the secodn day in the Jacuzzi in front of the swimming pool. About at 6 pm, dark already, no people around, nice view of the seaside and of the desert pool. It was good but not really a GFE since she was somehow cold. Went back to Manila by taxi again for 2.500 more and we spent the night in Isabelle. Next morning she left me to go back to job. I offered her 2.500 and she was happy to take them. Then I went to the airport to go back to Macau.

Theres never a queue, cars are clean and tidy, drivers always good to chat to, and gets me from airport to Fort Bonifacio for P220.

Thats represents good value, and would recommend to use.

Thanks for the field report. Although there are several reports about Puerto Galera + beaches, it's pretty rare to read a report about one of the Batangas resorts.

Do you have any pictures or contact info for Palm Beach?

But just out of the exit, on the left, you find few men (no cars at all) who just offer you cars. One of them offered me one and I said I was going to Makati. And he said: "It is 20 dollars, if you like I can call one for you. It will be here in 3 minutes". I declined the offer and I went onward to the right where I found the yellow cabs queue. A couple of minutes wait (but it was about 6,30 am) and I got mine. Nothing to complain about driver and car. And I paid 160 pesos to Makati. Of course a lot less than the 20 Us dollars I was asked before. Sorry if I was not clear before with my left and right explanation.

And told me just few days before a ferry sinked and many people died (have no idea if it is true or not). the yellow cabs are great news when picked up at the airport but would advise caution about flagging one down outside on the streets. i made the mistake of doing this on roxas recently and was astonished at how the meter spun like a fruit machine. by the time we reached baclaran it had hit 120 pesos when it should have read about 45 in a normal taxi. i pointed this out to the driver who could only shrug apologetically. so i paid him off and jumped in a ordinary taxi.

unless it was a rigged meter (which seems unlikely), i fail to understand this. i am sure that when i have caught yellow cabs at the airport, the meter has turned at relatively normal speed, if slightly faster than a normal cab.

any ideas or similar experiences?

p.s apropos of nothing - did you know that national hero no 1 is a major stakeholder in the franchise that operate the yellow cabs? bravo manny!!
