In recent years Thailand has been trying to attract the big spending tourists. If you look and act like a backpacker, the immigration officer isn't likely to give you a break.

Please guys can someone confirm that the Adelphi hotel is currently guests friendly. In 2023 that was the case, but I asked the hotel team and they don't respond. I like the hotel but if they changed the policy I will cancel the reservation and move to another one that confirms me.

What type of Visa are you coming in with? If more than 180 days without something like an OA Visa or too many quick 30 day free entries then you will not get in. I don't know the proper terminology but I call these overstays. Good luck in September. Depending on why they said you were denied entry you may or may not get in.

Simple guys. They just don't want you in Thailand on tourist visas and 30 day exempts.

Get proper Visa they say.

The problem is they don't tell you how much is too much. Immigration officer Discretion.

He was in line making a phone call. Immigration said NO CAN. Fat might have used the F bomb and the rest is history.

We all know that there are different rules for different nationalities. Your story makes me think that in 2023 you did something wrong, got caught, were allowed to go home. Now in 2024 you are trying to get back into Thailand and the immigration officer is saying that Thailand doesn't want you because of your past (or current) actions. Now you are saying that Thailand is being unreasonable because the Gregorian calendar has flipped to a new year, which isn't even the year used by the Thai people.

Many of us have traveled many times using just our passports and sometimes visas. I've personally used passport alone, paste in visas, and E-Visas. Some of my close friends have used extensions, but none of us has ever had a problem. I'm sure you did something specific that violates Thai rules, you just don't want to say what it is. You prefer to just complain about your situation. Sorry you traveled far to be rejected, but it's difficult to have sympathy when you don't tell us the whole story, including what immigration claims to be the problem. How did you get admitted in 2023? Why no proper visa in 2024? What’s different?

Being refused entry means something is in the immigration records. As simple as that.

I believe it to be true as I done research. My question is if you are in Timbuktu and want the Special Visa how do you pay for it?
