My Portuguese is not very good, but basically, their story is that this gringo came in and ran up a big bill and on the way out said he had had R300 stolen out of his locker but he would keep it quiet if they gave him R100 discount. Otherwise, he would put it out on the internet.
Now, Thong Diva, you can continue your campaign, and maybe it really did happen to you, but, it seems to me you tried to jack them up. But, if you are a good lawyer, you will realize that the most believable story is not yours.
At the end of the day, I'm not trying to influence your decision to go to L'Uomo. I've been happy going there over the past year or so. Obviously, you will be going there regardless of what I say and my decision not to go back.
I have a feeling that if my posting rate was higher, you wouldn't be so quick to judge. It's a credibility thing. I see that.
Nevertheless, assuming you actually spoke to the L'Uomo management, their version is totally incorrect. A "big bill" is a relative thing. My bill was R$657. I'd hardly call this a big bill for 2 sessions, entry and booze for me and the girls. I paid in cash (at least what was left). I don't know if they were trying to give you the impression that I wouldn't be able to afford my bill, but that's not the case.
With respect the accusation that I threatened to post this all over the internet, that's completely false. While I am doing that to a rather limited extent, I never threatened them with that. Threats in those types of situations aren't going to get you anywhere. It doesn't stand to reason why I would make threats knowing full well there are likely large men ready to chuck me out of the place. That's rubbish and you know it.
As regards this R$100 discount, a lot of emphasis seems to placed on this. I initially asked them to discount my bill by R$300, since that was what was stolen. I moved down to R$200, then R$100 at the end. This "negotiation" lasted the whole of 10 seconds. They clearly were not budging. I have a feeling that the emphasis on this R$100 discount stems from the fact that I was re-inforcing my position that 3x R$100 notes were stolen because I kept re-iterating that I knew the notes were blue, there were no blue notes in my wallet that those were the notes missing.
I don't understand why you are taking this so personally. I posted this here as just a word to the wise. I am in no way trying to ruin the reputation of this place. You may say I am, but I'm not. It's a brothel, for goodness sake. To believe that this is a business on the up and up is a delusion. You can think whatever you want. You can think you have a great reputation with the management, but there are obviously plenty of people on here who disagree.
Enjoy your time at L'Uomo. I know I have. I just won't be back because of this.
In terms of trustworthiness -- locker room attendants at L'uomo vs. American lawyers. Not even close.
You don't even know what type of lawyer I am. Bug off. You have no basis for that comment. If you got screwed by an American lawyer that's your problem. Why don't read this thread and you'll see I never pointed the finger at the attendant.

First experience
Hello,
so after I had found die pdf map in this thread I did get a bit of orientation where to go. Since I arrived on thursday most places seamed close so I was looking forward to friday evening.
After checking the Avenida Atlantica, where nothing was going on I decided to check out the place called Balcony.
After walking by 5 times a Bellby from a Hotel pointed it out for me. I had seen it many times but I thought it just was a regular sports bar. Anyway I went in at about 7 pm and it was quickly clear to me that this is a hang out for ladies (i still use my thai terms ;-)
I med a fellow german and an american guy at the bar and we started having lots of drinks and fun talking, chatting and viewing the avaible meat.
After being really a little bit drunk I started getting horny and a lady with name natalia with great skinny body and scorpion tadoo on her back cought my attention.
Anyway I invited her to have a drink with me and my follow maits had olso choosen their chica. She seamed really nice and was hot by any standart.
I asked her about her price and she answered 300 for all night, since I do not like all nighter I offered 120 for 2 hours. We settled on 150. I am sure it maybe to much but I was drunk and horny.
We went to my hotel on avenida princes isabel. The Merlin Hotel. Here the first surprise. I had to pay 84 reales to get the lady into my room, that sucked but anyway that live I guess.
The 2 hours where really nice, not the best we we used the whole place of the hotel room. Fucking doggy stily looking out the window on copa or straight at the many mirrow in the room. I think we used 5 condoms in that time period.
I had hitten all the money and importand docs in the save so I did not worry to much to take a shower and live here out of sight for a couple minutes.
After we finished I walked back with her to Balcony and had a couple more drinks until I was really drunk. Chatted with some pro Ladies that had worked in europe, like Amsterdam red light or frankfurt train station part of town, others are married to germans and italians and work in balcony receive the nice money from their husbands and play I love wife when they are here. Kind of reminded me a bit of Thailand. But I guess thats the business they are in. I do not speak Portuguese but good spanish so conversation was not difficult.
Today I want to check the Termas (Luomo). They should not be more expensive then my experience yesterday chica 150 and hotel 84 aq total of 234 reales.
Can somebody tell the cost i have to expect and generel procedure at Luomo ?
Chears,
Ecoquest

Old joke
There might be an easy explanation as to where the money went. Were there any other American lawyers in the locker room that day?
In terms of trustworthiness -- locker room attendants at L'uomo vs. American lawyers. Not even close.
Q: How can you tell when it's a REALLY cold day?
A: When you find a lawyer with his hands in his own pockets.
I don't need evidence.
This isn't a trial.
I don't need to prove anything to you.
No, just go on making unsubstantiated claims about the business practices of an establishment. Since we are left to speculate: my guess (based on the new info from SlimDrillHole) is you got balls deep into good pussy and shot your financial load. It happens. That haynannynanny can make a man insane.

Another lawyer joke
Q: How can you tell when it's a REALLY cold day?

A: A good start.

Dum Dum, one word- Variety! He is probably getting bored having sex with you all the time, and he doesn't want to cheat on you in your backyard, so out of respect for you, he does it with girls that he has no long term attachments with. That is the simple answer. Its probably more complex, but that is the main reason. He could have other reasons, but I don't know him, so I can't give a more detailed answer. Why do you think he is with prostitutes. What clues have you found.
I'm in need of a little help. I am a woman who just discovered that my boyfriend, who I love dearly, may be participating in some "mongering" (new phase I just learned last night). Can any of you gents give me a brief run down on what it is about travel/prostitutes? Furthermore, sex with a prostitute at all, when you have a women that is eager to satisfy you?
I'm very open minded and not here to judge. I'm just looking for some clarity and honesty.

If you would like a lot of discussion, you should try the Morality of Prostitution thread. This particular thread is for Rio-specific info. If your BF was coming to Rio and *not* experiencing some Brasilian girls, you would have reason to suspect that he either has sexuality issues or is just mentally beat-down to where normalcy is not possible. The Brasilian girls tend to have their own very natural and carefree style and ways, different from girls in Asia or Europe, for example, and everyone should try them at least once. That's not to say that you aren't fun, just that girls from different cultures each have their own merits and it's important to try to learn about these and take it as life experience. Perhaps you have wondered what it is like to be with men of other parts of the world and your BF would encourage you to have those experiences? I hope so. A person's body and sexuality should not be considered as someone else's personal property to restrict and control. Outside of relationships, that kind of stuff is illegal.
Everybody shops for fresh produce, meats, fish, etc. this way. You'd be crazy not to. Our maid and cook would do this for us. But, I'd go on Sunday mornings regularly for the fresh cana and pastels. Whoever said this is a 'lower class existence' is an imbecile or misanthrope who doesn't understand Brazil. It's a friendly, fun and social thing to do.
Prosal's a sad, sad little tool. Because I mentioned I buy fresh foods at low prices and take buses to the big cities for business trips (who wouldn't) he jumps to a conclusion a lower class existence. I have a great home, new car, and all the nice furnishings from the US which makes my home a great entertainment place. I built a nice bar in my home with a stripper pole and have a big hot tub. I am a great cook and my many friends here come to try new dishes (and they bring me all the beer, wine and booze to stock my home bar). And, best of all, I have a great lady here that is open to some great explorations together and brings her friends into our relationship.
Everyone here is after the brass ring: tons of great free sex. I have built that life here. I got my home here about 9 years ago. So without having any home, car and loan payments; paying zero for sex (unless we decide to explore and monger); and with cheap prices on great fresh foods, I can certainly say I live inexpensively. But I have a great full lifestyle. Even my housekeeper is a lot of fun.
I pity those douchy guys that have to buy expensive suits, shiny accessories and flash cash to try to get noticed. (I am sure some are trying to compensate for their small package.) Me, I sit back and let it all come to me. I spend my energy on my business ventures here.
And, yes, you are right, the outdoor food market can be a very social and fun place. I actually met a few nice young ladies there in the past. I offered to cook them an interesting meal and they eagerly accepted. And nothing like walking to a bakery to buy fresh bread first thing in the morning.

There is just one danger for non brasilian women. When one tries brasilian girl, there is a big chance that non brasilian especially feminist western woman doesn't feel a natural choice anymore.

He's just having some fun. It's a natural male mindset. Some men have been brainwashed to think sex is wrong. I think they get campers, boats, harleys, etc, or do a lot of church activities and charities. Those are their "children" outside the relationship. Some men may pervert the natural desire into another route. Some might be gay and just having a hetero relationship for show. Some might have hormonal problems. But if you have a normal, red-blooded boyfriend, he is just being natural, he probably loves you very much, but we are all of us products of evolution and this is how we are. You can take consolation that you are not alone. Every man is this way, every one of your female relatives and girlfriends has or is going to experience at least one betrayal like this, its just a matter of if you see it, or it takes a deeper and darker path...
Once he has tired of the shallow physical relations with Brazilian prostitutes he will come back to you, you will offer him a far deeper relationship, see how hard he tries to hide what he was doing, this is just a dalliance for him, you are the real thing.

This is a major distraction and I doubt it is genuine. Even if it is, this is not the place for it. I can't stand the thought of page after page of answers on this.
Querida, if you are for real, RTFF. You can find out what that means in the abbreviations section.
Talk about distractions, first the grand heist in L'uomo, now, a damsel in distress. Give me a break.
Now, for some news related to the purpose of this forum. New place opened called 53 which is sister to 22 in Copa. No. 53 R. Sa Ferreira. Same rules and prices as 22, Gotta say, this is not a great neighborhood since the street leading from Cantagalo favela dumps out here. But, another low/mid price option at that end of Copa. Close to Arpoador and Ipanema as well.
Funny, they have built the boite to look like 22, as if that was something you would want to copy. Didn't get a chance to check the facilities but couldn't be much lower than 22, Well, they could be but this is a new place so probably better.
