Kali Jodo - undiscovered?
Well, undiscovered by ISG'ers maybe. But I doubt that. I'm pretty sure the Mighty Spearsman (how are you my friend?) has also been there.
Not to mention Jakarta After Dark2, THE guide for mongering in Jakarta.
Hi Menteng, nice to receive a "shout-out" from you, I'm fine, hope you are well.
Yes, I went to Kali Jodo several times during the month of Ramadan (September-October 2007) and posted about my visits here on the board. I even posted two photos of a rickety-looking bridge across the garbage-filled river (creek?) that led to three or four brothels in the same block.
I had a few good sessions there, but it was hardly my first choice for mongering, and once Ramadan was over and my regular places (Kartika, Maribaya, etc.) re-opened, I never went back to Kali Jodo.
Yes, the girls were dirt-cheap, but I found it to be a bit more hard-core and impersonal than the places I normally went to, it's a hassle to get there, the facilities can be pretty basic (one place had no shower, only a bucket of water, with one towel the size of a handcloth) and I never felt entirely safe (I only went during the daytime). Most of the girls were "barely-legal" and unskilled, although I did find one gfe.

Some extra info:
- I just remembered that someone blasted me when I posted my reports on Kali Jodo in 2007; he claimed that the area is more dangerous than I had portrayed, that there is some gang action there, and in his opinion I should have not encouraged anyone to go there
- in any case, I had pointed out that this area is not for the faint of heart, and it certainly helped that I had lived in Jakarta for over a year at the time I visited there, and that I had decent conversational ability in Bahasa Indonesian language. With one notable exception, no one here spoke English. I certainly would recommend that any Jakarta newbie stay away from this area!
- my three posts refer to this area as "off Jalan Bidara Raya in Grogol" and may be found on the Jakarta board: Post #1227 of Sept. 29, 2007, Post #1256 on Oct. 2, 2007 and Post #1282 on Oct. 9, 2007.
