I feel for you. Thats the crapshoot that is airbnb. I hate it but at the same time love it. Sometimes you can find good deals. But recently I've had better luck with hotels and I know what I'm getting.

I slept 3 hours since Sunday, going into last night, thanks to Spirit Airlines. All I wanted was a decent night sleep, and I arrived to no pillows, the loudest A / see in the world, no blinds / drapes, a mattress that feels like the floor, and a blanket that feels like a rug. Good times. Jacuzzi was almost overflowing with water and had shit all over the seats / bottom.

I sent a huge list of requests and said if it can't be done by tomorrow (toque de queda) to return my money and I'll find another place. Not a good start.[/QUOTE]

Welcome back and sorry about the apartment woes. You should start working on your plan b if you haven't already. I doubt you would be denied a refund under the circumstances you described.

Thinking about checking out Medellin next week. Dolce Vita was cool, but Delirium was amazing. Spent NYE in the 2nd floor of Delirium. Everyone will start between 300 k and 400 k and most will settle for 200 k. Only one bad experience w a girl that took me too long to get out of my place. I am def considering not bring anyone over anymore and get a by the hour spot to go to.

Any Medellin tips would be appreciated.

I was delighted to return to a nice-looking bed, WITH PILLOWS, clean floors, a new living room sofa table, a clean jacuzzi, some extra towels, kitchen items put away, etc. I'll do a sweep, tonight, and make some final requests. I'll also hopefully get a good night sleep.

I took a cab to New Life to relieve some stress. I walked around looking for an ATM, since 6 of them at the mall didn't work, this morning. I couldn't find one, and ended up walking thru Botero. Nothing caught my eye, which is not surprising, since I've never sessioned there. It was hot, and I was have a work-related three-alarm fire on my phone. I saw one darker girl on the northwest corner of Botero, towards the De Grief intersection, that was decent-looking. I have never seen Premier Plaza, knowingly, and didn't pull up the WorldTraveler map. I'll try to scope it, next time.

Looks like I'll be taking in the NFL / NCAA games at home, this weekend.

I remember once renting an apartment near the intersection of Calle 10 and Avendia Poblado right behind the Carulla that had an excellent view and after doing the walk thru discovered stained sheets in the Master Bedroom and no Cable service to the flat screen in the living room. And I complained and they made everything right, yet lesson learned you have to check everything even the plumbing to verify there's hot water before accepting occupancy, yet the owners can be assholes, and not do stuff, and then you have to fight them to get your money back, hopefully they will take care of everything for you without any problems.

It's nice to hear your landlord came through. There is an ATM in the Nutibara hotel ground floor near the lobby. New Life I'm pretty sure accepts credit cards. Break that Centro cherry.

OK. Just saw a youtube video about Gustos preparing for my Medellin visit and in the comments I see people talking about chicas asking for $150 USD and up in parque Lleras. Is this what is expected? If so, I might as well stay in Cartagena where they will all take $200 K COP. Some guidance please.

But not the style of action I like, I suppose? If Delirium / Dolce Vita had hotels attached like Fase II / La Isla, I'd like it more. Anyways, don't want to go on about it as this is not the CTG forum, but brief version is I eventually managed a 600 mil todo la noche deal from a sweetheart at Dolce Vita, brought her to my hotel and had a lovely time.
