Hi all,
As I never been in Thailand I have a question, may be silly one, but I would like to understand what you call coyotes, you seem to have a very precise idea of what they are but its really unclear for me.
If you could explain.

They will go out with you to party and drink and dance and all that shit. Or they may have an unusually high price tag, as compared to the other regular barfineable girls.
They are usually identified by the outfit they wear, which is different (more covered) from the girls dancing on stage.
OK now I get what natty wrote. He wrote there are girls who will not barfine. I misunderstood and thought there was some new law saying you can no longer barfine any gogo dancer in Nana.

They had a particular style of gyrating their pelvis. Do a You tube search. Mojos was a Snooker / Pool pub with coyotes. See pic. From the colour of the girls' legs, you can see most are wearing tights (almost skin coloured. This detracts from the look in my view.
Not that dissimilar to discos where they have paid female dancers on podiums/tables. Maybe they can also be called Coyotes although may have more varied dance moves.
Now they have moved into many gogo bars, but are mostly fake Coyotes who don't know how to dance properly.
Piper Perabo was one of the original hot "Coyotes" from the movie Coyote Ugly. She wasn't even slightly ugly (back then). An 11 out of 10 points girl. Exactly my spec. Probably the only reason I watched the movie. LOL

My first response was to tell her in pidgen she was pretty and I wanted to barfine her. OK she says, come in have drink buy me lady drink. Naw I says, I don't drink, just barfine and boom boom.
She looked mean at me, stepped back and grabbed an Indian guy.
On the ground now in Bkk, I can report that Twister has girls that "only drink", cute one I found but not particularly a good dancer. She strikes me as a newbie.
The bar itself used to be my favourite but now really has gone downhill. Too many tattoos for my liking.

The next morning he wakes up, looks at her and chews his arm off so he can get away before she wakes. Meaning she is that ugly. It has reference to Coyote's that are caught in traps and chew off their leg to get away.

RL.[/QUOTE]True, but the fact that bars started opening up worldwide called Coyote Ugly with girls dancing exactly as they had in that movie Coyote Ugly and girls in bars worldwide were called Coyote girls when they dressed in short shorts and cut off tops had everything to do with the movie and nothing to do with a coyote biting his leg off.

This piece might be sligthly off topic; how to find sex in Bangkok is really a no-brainer. And since we all have different preference I will not even start on that topic. My contribution this time is more related to the nightlife scene in Bangkok. I mean; I love Bangkok. Been going here for 10 years now. And it was really great up till around 5 years ago. My main concern is that those night venues that contributed to the diversity and quirky ambience on a great night out in the Suk area is now gone. Cheap Charlie (soi 11), Climax (soi 11), the old Five Star in Cowboy, Cactus Bar in Cowboy (John, we miss you!) and similar places. Those bars offered a break from the standard; strange, quirky, filled with interesting people, unbeatable atmosphere. Not the places you would be looking for girls primarily (except Climax of course). But plain cozy plazes that added that extra dimension to the nightlife in Bangkok. Yes, I know Sexy Nights in Nana Plaza is there still playing classic rock (oldest bar in the Plaza) and Beergarden soi 7 still hanging in there. On the skin of their teeth. But in general the go-go's seems to get more and more similar, the same "car alarm music" with a few exceptions, same interior design etc. Why not try some diversity. Something new? I am talking about theme bars like the Scooter bars in Pattaya (LK Metro), rock Dive Bars like The Cave also in LK Metro, "themed" go-go's like the popular Airport Club and Windmill in Pattaya etc. It seems like espesially Soi Cowboy is clogged with bars and bar owners that just refuse to re-invent their business. The Arabs bars in Cowboy is espesially depressing. What a waste of space! Add to this highly inflated prices over the past 5 years and more and more Coyotes working everywhere; this is just an industry on the wrong track right now. Visitors numbers are down and many bars are struggling. And I have no problem understanding why. 5 years ago the streets was full of sexy girls also working on the mobile bars. I had the pleasure of barfining many of them. Now all this business is gone. Probably a good thing for the regular bars, but it sure makes the streets less interesting for us punters. Less options and less diversity. The oposite of what we all want. Hooters have 2 bars in Sukhumvit area now. Yes it is something new, but it is like going to McDonalds. Just overpriced beer and food IMO. The Hillary Group really do some excellent work and offer variety and interesting, popular bars. Cudos to them, even though Climax is deeply missed. Well, I guess I am just getting old and ranting about the "good old times"! The latest devlopments in LK Metro in Pattaya shows that diversity in the bar industry is possible, but for some weird reasons this is not what we see in Bangkok right now.
Thanks anyway to all of you for this interesting debate about the meaning of coyote, from the start and up to now!
