Places where no cameras are able to capture videos for YouTube?
It's sometimes hard to convince our friends who have never been here yet that the reason very few if any of the guys on those videos take the bait and go into the bars with those girls is because only 1-2 experiences with scammer "Coyotes" teaches us an important and memorable lesson about very hot girls trying to drag us into bars on Soi Cowboy and elsewhere around town.

I haven't run across anyone offering their Whatsapp info in a number of years.

I like LINE having Hidden contacts and Hidden Chats. It used to have a wonderful feature of option to have messages auto deleted a set number of minutes after being read. Auto cleanup of evidence. Unfortunately they took that feature away.
Does Whatsapp have video calls the days? Does it have any nice secrecy features or do I need to use a separate monger phone? I wouldn't ask if I could see these features sitting there obvious. Not a Whatsapp expert.

But I am not 100% sure I recall how I did it. For one, I think you need to go into your phone settings, not Line settings. I have an Android phone and I go to Settings, then Notifications and "Select which apps you want to receive notifications from." In my case, I am fine with being notified that I have a new Line message, so I slide the switch to the On position for the Line app, but I don't want the name of the Line friend or any part of their message popping up on my locked screen. So to eliminate that, open Line, tap the Person/Contact icon, tap the Settings cog icon up in the right corner, go to General settings, choose Notifications and scroll down to where it says, "Message previews". I believe that is the option you want to uncheck.
Again, doing only that last part in the Line app won't stop notifications of a new message from popping up on your locked screen or down from the top of the screen page wherever you are at the moment. That is done in your phone's settings. But it will stop telling everyone who can see your locked screen who just sent you a Line message. I think. Try it anyway.
You can also select and designate Hidden Users, the feature Syzy mentioned. At least I think that will do what he wants to do. I'm not sure because I live alone too so I am not so concerned about hiding users. Also, a relatively new feature on Line is the ability to go back into a conversation and "unsend" a message or photo. And it doesn't seem to matter how far back you sent the message or photo. It helps when you have accidentally sent a reply to one girl but meant it to go to another, as I have done a few times, and want to "unsend" it before she sees it. LOL. Unfortunately, it does replace it with a message saying, "ET has unsent a message". So you'll have to tap dance an excuse that you spelled too many things wrong and worried that she could never get a decent Google Translate out of it or whatever. LOL. To "unsend" a message on Line, you long press on the message or photo until the options pop up for what to do with it. Then tap "Unsend".
Don't confuse that with "Delete". If you "Delete" the message, which also pops up as an option when you long press the message or photo, that only means YOU (or someone else on your side) will not see it anymore. But the person on the other side of the conversation will still see it and will have no indication that you deleted it on your side. And in that case, I don't believe it leaves a tell-tale sign that anything was deleted on your side.

Except for calls I don't get any notifications from line at all. Hidden users are for people on your friends list that you don't want displayed as friends, you will receive messages from them and any likes or comments on their timeline will come thru.

I use that way, so it does not how any part of the message or who it is from.
There is also now an unsend feature, as ET mentions, to Delete messages from both the sender and receiver, if you accidentally send a message to wrong person which could be very embarrassing. I have used Unsend.
Next you need to have a password or pattern lock on LINE to stop prying. I also have hidden Contacts so if someone looks over my shoulder at list of Contacts, we don't see a lot of girly profile pics. I would prefer to have an option not to show a contact's pics too. I don't think any App has that.
Once you hide a contact, I don't think can send a message to them in the chat stream without unhiding them first. That is a weakness.
In the end a small monger phone with its own phone number is best and make sure your regular family does not see the monger phone in use, naturally set to silent and do not disturb mostly. Just pretend is a backup phone for use only if main phone malfunctions and is off for repairs. Even could keep a flat battery in it or just remove battery (keep somewhere else hidden), to be replaced by a charged battery when ready to use for a period, as a super extra precaution, in case is found by a hound dog detective.
My current GF is not a hound dog dectective ( I used to have such a GF previously), however she is not stupid. Evidence of anything is easily noticed, e.g. condoms, medications, lube disappearing that was not used with her, messages popping up on a phone too often, etc.

I have a friend who I don't want to hide in terms of our chats or having her as a visible Line Friend. But, damn, every day two or three dozen photos of make-up, clothes, cars, flowers or some such crap show up on Timeline telling me and whoever else is a Line Friend of hers that she "liked" those photos.
Well, in the Timeline I looked at one of her "likes" of a flower or whatever and tapped on the three horizontal menu dots in the upper right corner of the post. In there I was able to choose "Hide all posts from this user". It will hide all those damned annoying daily Timeline "likes" of hers but NOT hide her posts in my regular chat section. Ah, blessed relief!

Those stickers are one of the reasons I do not like Line.
