I note that nobody seems to have mentioned that Pan Pacific Sonargaon has a "new" club called Pacific Avenue located on the G Floor (entrance for hotel guests near the gym; from outside enter from the car park).

Live bands and girls dancing and miming local or Indian tunes. Some punters shower the preferred dancers with cash notes (not sure how much). Good entertainment to sit and watch proceedings over a quiet beer.

I sat at the bar and observed many working girls were coming to the bar to get glasses of water that were obviously placed there for them and to smile at me (hoping I would smile back and offer to buy a drink). Probably 80% of them were dressed in saris which hides the layers of fat that many of them obviously have although that also means they often have large boobs too. Those in "western clothes" were a minority and some were quite attractive, but none were spinners.

I was not tempted by anyone because (a) I never saw anyone that attracted me and (b) a friendly security guy told me that if I like to take a lady to my room then she must register at front desk first and you need to escort her because elevators require room key to activate. As it was a business trip, and my stay was booked by my agency, I did not wish to tarnish my reputation with the "walk of shame" through the foyer as inevitably the gossip would reach the wrong ears.

I have no idea of the costs for ST or LT, but the drinks were expensive (beers were $9. 5 usd).

If you don't want to go through walk of shame then you can just take them to a hotel opposite to Pan pacific, it's a local hotel.

For me, cost is not an issue and I prefer the comfort, security and working environment of a 5-star hotel.

My post about Pacific Avenue at Pan Pacific was merely a heads-up to those visitors for whom cost is not a major issue and who might wish to enjoy a classy evening's entertainment at a pleasant venue with an added bonus of finding a companion for the night, albeit at higher rates than you might find by skulking around some of the seedier MPs or other less salubrious venues.

I am not so desperate that I would venture across the road to a local hotel, but your tip is well-taken and might be an option for some who are in a similar position to me.

Bd five stars are simply overpriced, their prices are five stars but not their quality.

I've researched a bit about pearl hotel earlier and saw their prices. As far as I remember they have 30 minutes package as well. Will try pearl soon. Is that 3 k cost for HJ fixed or after negotiations? Also, can I select the therapist there or they will call any random one?

Yes price is upscale but I also found girls are good to. Specially on Thursday there is lots of girls too. In comparison to other countries BD is always expensive in terms of girls. No matter either you are in 5 star or a shitty local spa.

Okay guys, I checked out Goalanda Ghat Brothel, it was an exploratory visit to see what it is all about.

How to go: From Dhaka take a bus to Aricha Ghat. Cross the river by Launch (Tk. 45), then take an autorickshaw to Goalanda Station.

Location: The brothel is right across the Railway Station Building. There are 3 entrances and entrance # 2 will lead you straight to the heart of the brothel.

Environment & Prices: Its just like a busy Bazar in rural Bangladesh. There are shops, food and drinks vendors shops etc. And yes, of course girls waiting around and calling you to enjoy time with them. I spoke with a few and they said the main system there is by shots. So 1 shot is from Tk. 300 - 1000,2 shots 500-1500 and overnight 1500 - 5 K. It will depend a lot on your negotiating skills and girls will quote 1. 5-2 times of what they will finally agree to. There is a liquor store too that only sells local (Keru) liquor and beer. There are drugs pushers offering all sorts of drugs but I always stay away from those so I can't help much except I saw a few.
