This is reality, majority and I speak in general didn't go to a barber school most are self taught by someone they know or a parent. Even the female salons, many can wash you hair do your nails but cutting, style, one has to go to a school, my wife years ago, wanted to get trained 20 years ago that school one of the best 40,000 baht had to attend for a year her training was going to events and cutting hair for free to locals.

Are you going to cheap barber shops around the city? I tried several before I said fuck it. Decided to go to a high end beauty salon in one of the malls. Finally a normal haircut but at the price of nearly 2000 baht after tip. It's a lot but at least she doesn't ruin my expensive cut I paid for in Harajuku or my home country.

FYI there are "free" haircut days through the many beauty schools around the city. You see them on South Pattaya Road near Tukcom and in Jomtien. I say "free" cause a tip to the girls would be more than appreciated.

Now as for the Thai barbers, there is no excuse for not knowing how to shave a man's face if your running a Barber shop. There are simple steps you must follow. First you have to use the clippers to trim a beard down, then preferably use the foil trimmers to shave it down even further. Then a hot towel is usually used on the face to soften the skin before the straight razor. And before you use the fucking straight razor, you actually have to make sure its fucking sharp by sharpening that *****. As you shave the face, you should even be sharpening it on the leather strop. And the strokes should be small and precise so you don't cut the man your shaving. It should be a pleasant relaxing experience. Not frightening, painful, and full of worry some kid is going to slice your face open. Once the shave is done, again a hot towel should be applied before some after shave to disinfect your face.

These barbers are just lathering you up with shaving cream and shaving you down with a dull straight razor and taking way to big strokes to get it done as soon as possible and cutting the shit out of your face. It took 30 minutes to stop bleeding and my face was stinging when I touched it for 2 days and had a visible razor burn rash.

Its not rocket science. Go to any barber shop in Latin America or a major American city and they will be on point and you will get an excellent shave. The barbers shops are not up to par and there is no excuse if your charging someone money and fucking there shit up.

Was just on Soi 6 couple of nights ago 2230. Prices for rooms 400 - 500. Prices for girls 1000 - 4000. Most were 2000. Refused all. Girl sat down with me in one of the bars. And I the Russian girls are crazy expensive anyways. I'the be willing to drop $250 usd on one if I was guaraneteed excellent service, but therein lies the crux of the matter, non-Asian ladies tend to give inferior service. So I am not willing to take the risk.
