Cost 1500 but was at least to the standard of what would expect to be 4 K. Only unfortunate thing was nearby food producers were crappy. You never had to pay upfront there? That surprises me. I was always asked to pay first, even as regular, although possibly influenced by not being a BJ only customer. If you can afford a little more money, I recommend you find a different hotel. Dream Bangkok on Soi 15 is about 20% more money and I've talked to people who are much happier there. I'll stay there next visit to BKK.

I stayed there just once in Bangkapi wing of Ambassador out the front of some square in 1983 approx. With farang wife in tow. She did the bookings with travel agent I guess. I had fond memories of this establishment from years ago. Like you, I went to Lollipops and everything looked the same. Same pool table in the same location. But the only difference was the name of the bar. I thought the new name was 'Numbers' and like you, I just didn't want to go in and ask what the change was.
