Wee Johnnie boy - methinks u have the notion of Soi 6 arse about. Whilst I myself tend to see what passes by (or even sits down for that matter !) in the Go-Go's, Soi 6 is definitly not the same. If u just walk in and take a seat, the tugs will often see this as their possible opportunity to make some cash. MOI for me is to take a walk along one time, spotting a few that take my fancy to add to my mental shortlist, carefully ensuring to make some eye contact and a smile, then taking a walk back the other way to hone in on my #1 choice. Actually last trip a few weeks ago I ended up in Soi 6 one afternoon (yeah like I didn't make a beeline straight for the place as soon as I got out of bed in the afternoon? ). Was in one about half way down on right hand side as you face the beach, no idea of name. As I mentioned in earlier post I had the usual misfortune of being followed inside by some decidedly below average petite girl. Not my type at all. What works for me is to ask the one sitting outside that I find most attractive
is if she would join me for a drink. Probably 99% of the time she'll say yes. Should she say no, it's just to ask the second-most attractive or move on to another bar.

I believe you can extend an "on arrival" tourist stamp for a once only maximum of 7 days. That will still leave you 5 days short. Suggest you go this week to immigration in Jomtien, and see what if anything they can suggest. Overstay penalties are not that high, but if for any reason you should be caught by the police without a valid visa, penalties are severe and usually include deportation.
If you can't get more than 7 days extension, then for safety you must make a visa run to Aranyapathet

1) Scan a passport-photo or make a digital portrait.
2) Google Cambodian evisa
3) Fill out the form and upload the pic
4) Pay by paypal 26 US (that's much cheaper than anything you pay at the border)
5) Wait about 24 hrs for approval
6) Go to Aranyaprathet/Poi Pet or Hat lek/Koh Kong borders
I suggest Aran. Take the 8 AM direct VIP bus from Pattaya to Aran (appr. 220 baht). At the bus station take a motorbike (50 baht) to the border. Ignore all all touts. They might charge you a fee for not staying the night there on Cambodian soil. For suggestions check the Cambodia section.
Back from Aran. Motorbike to the station. Last bus leaves around 6 PM. Take a bus to Kabinburi and switch to the Chonburi buses, Chaosengsao is also ok as it is the same route. In Chonburi plenty of connections to Pattaya. The direct Pattaya buses come through Aran well after midnite.
If you are back from the border by 1. 55 pm at the train station you could catch the train to BKK and get off at chaosengsao (around 40 Baht). Relaxing trip, bring food and drink and enjoy the countryside as the train runs through the fields.
Koh Kong: take the Bus to Trat anytime before noon if you want to get back same day. The buses leave on Sukumvit near Pattaya Klang (Central Rd.). Near a small wooden Restaurant shag. First Bus is around 6 AM. Take the direct buses to Trat. At Trat bus station 110 baht direct minibus to the border. Return the same thing. Last direct bus back is 3. 30 PM (2nd class aircon).
You can take a motorbike for about 50 baht into Kohkong (details on the sites in Koh Kong in the Cambodia section)
The evisa also saves you a full passport page. No evisa allowed at other overland border crossings.
The total cost should be around 1400 baht (incl. Visa) as opposed 1900 for the 7 day extension. The prices of the border run services vary. They usually suck.
Try to avoid weekend (incl Friday) trips. Much less traffic at the border. Aran has more people running around but less trouble with Cambodian touts. Koh Kong is a true shit hole that makes the Aran mafia look like catholic sisters.

Yes I learned in Patteyaaaa.
Went with one girl, a freelancer of sorts, for three days. Took me around BKK and showed me some sights, good enough english, and street smarts for getting the deal before buying things for me (business) and shipping them. All sorted within hours.
