What does this mean for people wanting a hotel room for Feb in santo domingo? Is the rush to book now on or doesn't it attract a huge crowd like rio or baranquilla?

Ive been searching for hotels online in Santo Domingo with not really much luck within my budget (nothing above $55). Anything I have found has gotten mixed reviews so Id like to see what Im getting before commiting to anything.

IE. Reserve for boca chica then search on foot in SD when I get there. Is this suicide during carnaval? Anywhere else I think it would be as far as the DR I have no idea of the magnitude of it all.

Just returned from the DR. Had a nice time in SD, although didn't stay there long enough to cultivate better sources. Mostly attended Girl House on Pasteur, and Lapsus (dont remember the address). Also found a place called Aurora, on New Years Eve night, when everywhere else was closed. Cost in all 3 places was 2500 pesos. This cute guerita was Daphne, from Aurora, who was the most compliant, willing to please, 19 yo, ever to be found. And a nice sense of humor. All in all, satisfactory mongering there.

I just answered my own question..I think. Carnival (carnaval) in santo domingo is celebrated close to feb 27 independence day so I assume around that time pre reserving a room would be the best idea.

I needed to know that since I wanted to check out a few of these budget hotels first hand. You should also count on paying in cash for these rooms because

#1 They dont accept any other form of payment.

#2 You get a better deal than at a hotel that accepts credit cards.

***Ive gotten email responses from these 2 hotels that have a very easy guest policy however when I did some research I found them to be "gay friendly" hotels where gay men do exactly what we are doing. Im not sure if that would work for me or against me since these places tend to have attractive rates and easy guest policies. Ive found most hotels will honor your guest but when your on a budget there are only a handful that I see online that do and the "gay friendly" ones are at the right price...Any input from anyone?

The two hotels are called Hotel Duque Wellington and Casa Newyorker both close to the zona colonial.

Thanks, Sailor02[/QUOTE]Aurora is located obliquely behind the Jarauga hotel and casino. It's on Independicia avenue which is one block north of the Malecon. It's very close to Lapsus.

i realized that a subscription to cybercupido was only $9.95 a month and could easily be paid with paypal, so i took out a month.

i was feeling a bit bored dreaming about trips to colombia and the dr so i composed a season's greeting email for the chicas thinking i would get one or two responses and plan some action if they were from pretty girls.
