Some highlights of my recent Medellin trip
Just came back from Medellin after spending 10 days. I have been to many countries before, however, this was my first trip to Colombia. With the wealth of information available on this board as well as receiving some sage advice through a few PM to some veteran travelers (Thank you, Zing23 and Hioctane), I had no problem to map out a decent game plan for the trip. I will detail below some of the major highlights of the trip. By the way, recently Cubanut posted a great report. [b]HOTEL:[/b] After lots of self deliberations, I chose [b]Casa Blanca [/b]([b]CB[/b], aka. Medellin Mansion) as my Hotel of choice. I can’t thank enough to both Greg and Robert for making my stay very comfortable at their place. They are running a nice little niche operation for us mongers and if money is not tight, this is an excellent place to stay. There are many options to stay in Medellin, both from value as well as amenities standpoint. My main intent to stay at CB was to meet likeminded people and go out together for sightseeing, mongering, eating out, etc. I must say that from day 1, the camaraderie I experienced was simply priceless. Also, 20% cash discount that Greg is currently offering is quite an incentive. On the day of my arrival on Friday, Robert took bunch of guys and gals from CB to two night clubs, Club Indiana and Angels. We had a blast until 3 AM and returned to the home base with our girls.
