Can't really comment on that as it was my only experience there. But if you read the forum it appears that its a trial and error method. Rates are really high and you don't always get what you see.

The price is 300 TL for 2 hours. I took a girl from Ukraine with me to my hotel at Taksim which was no problem. My friend wanted to go to a local hotel recommanded by the girl and had problems, because they wanted to force him to go to a place he don t know. So be a little careful. I think they wanted to get some extra tips from them bringing customers there. In the old times you go to City Hotel, pay 80TL for the room. 10TL tip and everyone happy. As a result I can recommand Balance, but of course not to be compared with similiar places in Eastern Europe or Russia. Last week I tried the Prenses MP in Osmanbey area. Since I am an old customer sex was included. The price was 200 TL including girl's tip.

For Balance I must tell you that for a local person it's ok. Safe enough but for a foreign and especially if you are blonde and white, looks like very foreign, it's not totally safe. They can overcharge you. Also if you ask the girl that you want to go to The City Hotel she will say yes or no. So you will know what will happen. I think The City Hotel is safe even for foreing people. The hotel turned down to a cheap touristic hotel after all police pressure. The price for the hotel is 150 TL. Tip the guy coming to your room with 5 or 10 TL. In weekends they will ask you to leave the room in two hours. In weekdays you can stay there till morning. Breakfast is passable.
For Irmak, Gold Can and Big Pub i dont think so worth to visit.I have never found a better quality in those places compared to Balance.Moreover you can find them closed..

Very few 7.
And I didn't check Big Pub or Irmak but Gold Can I guess is open.
Also I have noticed that Cocktail is open.

Hope everyone is doing well!
I am flying Budapest to Nairobi, via Istambul, and I'll have some 6 hours spare.
First I thought of going to Istambul's Genelev and getting a quick one. But I can't believe you can't even set your foot in that part of the city just cause you are a foreigner. I was so disappointed. There might be a way for someone to override the ban through these guys:

But I am not staying long enough to be able to go book a tour and then try to ditch the group once in the RLD! It seems that in Istambul everything was taken care of to make sure you can't get laid!
So I have to satisfy with the second best and here comes my actual question. Is there any Turkish bath, not too expensive, charging up to $50 and close to the Kemal Ataturk airport?
I tried many types of massage, saunas and steam baths, but I've never been to a Turkish bath. I tried googling but all the results found are places that are either being renovated, or having just male masseuses, or way too far away, or just some hotels with a Turkish bath.
So, if anyone can recommend a nice Turkish bath with female masseuses and not too expensive I would be grateful.

It s not a good idea to visit rld in istanbul because it is not worth that and it s not safe enough even with a guide. Probably these guys are not reliable also.
There is one sauna massage like you want in Antalya. I don't think so there is a good one.

Six hours is a very short time. Depending on where you are coming from you may need to buy an entry visa to get into the country from the airport. This and Police control can take you an hour and then it can take another hour into the city area where the tours agency is suggesting you visit. Also I looked at the tour web site and it does not look very impressive to me. Please take care that this is not a rip off.
Please remember that as a foriegner you cannot enter the Genel Ev. You need a valid Turkish I'd for this, although I heard that you can enter if you have a residence permit.
As far as I know are no Turkish baths with female massage. All are 100% male areas to the best of my knowledge. Other members comments welcome.
My recommendation would be to have a beer or two in the airport and save the stess of getting into and out of town in such a short time.

Traffic in Istanbul is insane depending on the time you are planning. Even if it isn't rush hour you might have a hard time to go see some sites. Hagia Sophia is located in Sultanahmet area, that is one of the more congested places in the city.

As many postings on this forum about that location are rather old, I wanted to share with you some details on how things work in Feb 2014.
The location itself is in a small narrow street in a not too exciting neighborhood. However once you have arrived close by, it is highly visible from the street intersection.
There are some security guys standing in front of the entrance, but no problem get in. Next to the entrance is a small booth inside. Here you have to pay 60YTL entrance fee. For that you get a chip card, pass through a security screening gate and will be guided downstairs. In case you have a coat, they will ask you to deposit it at the wardrobe (YTL 10). Finally a guy will lead you another level down and a waiter will take your chipcard away. He will guide you to a table for 2. You sit down and the waiter will ask what you would like to drink. I took a beer and 2 min later somebody else brought it along with some snack (nuts, fruits etc.) platters. This is apparently part of your entrance fee. Any additional drinks you will have to pay extra. Another 2 min later third waiter showed up to put some napkins on your table along with some tools to eat your fruits. He expects a tip, I gave him YTL 5. Other then that, you will be pretty unmolested by waiters as long as you keep your drink & platters relatively full. Nice, and what a difference to other bars that I experienced in the past.
The room itself is filled with dozens of small tables, half of them were busy with ladies at 22:40h when I arrived on a Friday night. Most of the girls fulfill what I assume are the Turkish expectations of beauty: Fairly tall, body-wise normal to a bit heavier shape, bit tits, age around 30. Most of them are Ukrainians, some are from Romania. The ones that I talked to spoke ok'ish english. There is no table mixing between men and women and also no interaction except for the dance-floor. Most of the guests are Turkish men, some international guys are there as well.
The action starts at 23:00h sharp, with the first girls entering the dance floor. I spent about 1 hr watching the scene and selecting the fitting candidates for me. That night about 40 girls where in the club. There is a constant rotation of girls on the dance-floor, so you have to wait until your personal favorite is active again. Then you step up, get yourself onto the floor and approach your target in the crowed of girls. There are only a few men dancing at any given time. The girl normally is easy going, will ask you about your hotel. It will take you about 5 min to settle the business (USD 200 in my case) with her. At this time both are pretending to dance a tiny bit. Then she will leave the dance floor together with you, collect her things and go to the first floor to pick her coat. Of course you are asked to pay the wardrobe (YTL 10). Then upstairs, outside. A guy will ask which hotel you want to go, get you a taxi and explain to the driver where the destination. For this you have to tip him, I gave YTL 10.
Finally you are in the taxi with the girl and then it is rather normal business onwards. The taxi did not use the meter, so I guess you need to negotiate the price. I paid YTL 20 w / o asking any questions.
So total damage:
YTL 60 for entrance fee (incl. 1 drink & fruit platters)
YTL 5 for the guy bringing the napkins.
YTL 10 for wardrobe of the girls coat (+extra YTL 10 if you have deposited your own coat)
YTL 10 for the guy ordering the taxi.
YTL xx for the taxi to your hotel (in my case YTL 20)
USD 200 for 2hrs service in your hotel.

Also for your information; I have told the guy in the door that I already have a room in the city hotel so I don't need a taxi and he had to accept angrily. The city hotel is 150 tl a bit expensive but if I get the taxi I would pay the 30 tl extra for the taxi and tip for a much much worse and uncomfortable hotel.
