I've known plenty that are absolutely avoiding the sun and taking diet supplements and applying cosmetics that they've been told would eventually make them appear whiter. The average Chinaman or Korean will generally have less money than the average Westerner.
I think the influx of East Asians, particular Chinese, has to do with Chinese government's crackdown on prostitution. This reduces the supply, and the result is higher price and reduced service. This is very obvious in China.
It is not that Chinese want to pay more. It is possible the girls just randomly increase the price to see if it sticks. There are many newbies paying the asking price not knowing what the going price is. Eventually all girls are asking the same price. I think it is just stupid for all girls to support the same price because not all girls can get the same amount of business.

Women in the country are dressing in a far more conservative manner than they did a few years ago. Many reasons for this as well.

Thais just don't want to be bothered putting on makeup or a dress, unless they work a go go or beer bar then they cake on the war paint with a roller. Not everyone, but enough to make any observer stand up and take note.

It was 33 first time I went. Now it's 32.

Try being a retiree and leaving off your UK pension when your expenses have doubled and this doesn't factor in inflation.

The Baht used to trail the PI Peso by 10. Did that for years. Now the Baht is curiously strong compared to the rest of the countries in the region, due mainly to their large cash reserves.

During that time the gals here were starting to be a bit more daring in their dress and seemed to finally be going through an awakening of their sexuality. None the more apparant then on uni campuses where the gals would do their best to wear the shortest uniform skirts and the tightest shirts. After '14 this started to change. Now, you rarely see a Thai gal in a belly shirt, short shorts, or a tight uniform. That is all taboo. Amazingly, the cat has been put back in the bag. As far as the P4 P scene is concerned, nowhere is this more noticable than in Thermae.
You are getting it too wrong, reading economical figures and looking at applied economics is difference, the fact is the westerners have less money with reference to mongering in Thailand is correct. More Westerners might have more money, but less people from poor countries have lot of money.

I'm sure it cost less to fly from China to LOS than from the US. I can get from Sydney to Bangkok for under 8000 baht on a budget airline.
