Hoping to get to Globe again this summer. Rather than withdrawing cash, I was wondering if it's possible to pay for entry and / or girls by iPhone contactless, without an exhorbitant premium? Sorry if this has been answered before recently!
You should call to ask desk.
Not if Swiss credit card? Then no charge. Can also pay in EUR or USD.
You are wrong. All credit card payments get hit with the surcharge. As for non CHF payments, you can pay in EUR and USD but you get a really bad exchange rate.

Cleo don't charge for international credit cards.
There are some credit cards which are not charged by Globe desk, maybe postbank? Cleo don't charge for international credit cards.
What Cleo charges or doesn't charge is irrelevant for Globe.
One more time, all credit card payments in Globe get hit with the surcharge. Debit cards don't get the surcharge, but as everybody knows debit card!= credit card.

All my cards are MasterCard-branded. When I tried to use my credit card, Fritz advised me of the 10% surcharge so I said OK I'll use my debit card instead. He said that card would still attract the 10% surcharge as the determining factor was it was a "MasterCard". He actually showed me a few EU cards - PostFinance, EuroCard - that didn't get surcharged, but none of these would be available to me as a non-European citizen.
So, I assumed at the time (back in 2013) it was related to the payments system in Switzerland. But, on reflection I've never been charged 10% extra anywhere else in Switzerland (or the rest of the world for that matter) when I've used these cards on my travels.
It's a bit of a pain as it means I have to get and carry around a shitload of Swiss notes as I'm not up for 10% more on Globe prices. But, it does put a brake on my spending per visit. I think if I could just pull out the plastic I would have been tempted into a few extensions over the years.

Many other Swiss places don t charge on MC or visa cards.

The vendor absorbs the commission of the payment system. With debit cards, the commission is less than one CHF per payment, with credit cards the commission is a percentage of the payment amount. This is one reason why Globe would discourage credit cards. Another reason to discourage credit cards might be that you can dispute credit card payments after the fact, which could be it a pain in the ass for a brothel. There are other reasons for a business to want to be primarily cash based.
If the surcharge is applied or not is determined by the payment system to which the card belongs. So if on your card it says Mastercard, Visa or American Express, it will get the surcharge. If on the card it says maestro, it won't get the surcharge. It doesn't matter if the card was issued by Postfinance, HSBC, Bank of America or Credit Suisse, they all offer debit and credit cards, it's the logo of the payment system on the card that matters.
It can be tricky, I tried several times to pay with a Revolut card with the maestro logo. While I could pay in every shop and every kiosk with the card and I could take out cash from an ATM, the Globe payment terminal was rejecting it.

You might mean Maestro (Red Blue logo)? Those are not credit cards (Red Yellow logo), and normally are not surcharged (but don't know about Globe.).
Better you walk few minutes to train station before you enter club and use the ATM to get some cash. In my experience choosing CHF gives me the best exchange rate (of my own bank, instead of the exchange rate of the "ATM bank".
You might mean Maestro (Red Blue logo)?
Yeah, could have been. On the Prices tab of the Globe website they show the logos of accepted cards.
I just wanted overseas first-time Globe visitors to be aware that they might find their cards get surcharged too, and it would be best to have some CHF on hand. I think many of us are pretty much cash free these days when at home and used to simply pulling out the plastic.

It may now be the case that you can use that non-European debit card without being slugged.
