Cartagena Reports

I just got back yesterday from a disappointing trip to Bogota and read the last eight pages of Cartagena reports. Seems like the same old arguments going on with a few good reports. Main thing is to have fun. I will be submitting a report later on Bogota but want to say that all those that say Cartagena is expensive, just go to Bogota for sticker shock.

I was looking forward to going to Cartagena in mid-April, but because of our great bureaucratic Nazi embassy in Bogota, my wife and son will not be leaving Colombia. So there is no need for me to visit in April to bring them home. After close to eight years of marriage, joint bank accounts, shared ownership of property in Colombia, and emotional support for many personal tragedies in our families, the embassy (one lady in particular) decided we did not have a valid relationship.

I am sorry to hear that Playa Hollywood has shrunk, but in a way that is OK. On those hot days, it was difficult to run to the beach without burning the feet. Although Tony can be a pest, he did well for me and get me quality. He must still be battling illness if he has lost weight.

It is very difficult to get a BBBJ in Bogota and have had no problem getting this in Cartagena. Also, in Bogota, I had to pay extra for DATY. Does not make much sense because the girls are the ones that get the enjoyment, plus it gives them a chance to lay back and let us do the work. It is sort of like paying a plumber to sit back while you apply the pipe wrench.

I will write my report on Bogota tomorrow, so if you are interested in going there, I have new information on some new places to go and some that appear to be closed.

Hopefully, I will be meeting some of you in person in the future and have a drink. My wife will be starting a business in our neighborhood near one of the universities. It will be a bar / hot dog stand / mini market place that attracts many of the college students going to and from class. Previously, it was run by a friend of hers. It is kinda of a great place to sit back and cool out while young college girls stop by. My wife knows many of the beauties and they would like to meet some gringos for dinner and drinks and some quality alone time with her new novio. I hope my wife is able to take pictures to provide to anybody wanting to visit. More later in a few months.

Otiers, I for one would be very interested in hearing more about your ordeal. I'm not sure what country you're from, but it sounds like people at your embassy have gone off the deep end. It's sad that one bureaucrat can have so much power and display such poor judgement. BTW, If you're from the U.S., you should try again in a year or two -- I'm personally familiar with instances where that's worked, although not in Colombia.

Assuming that you're pulling from the beach or the street it would seem to me to be extremely advisable to be able to check the age of girls that are questionable (and using a generous range at that, better safe than sorry) but I haven't had the problem of having to check cedulas in Colombia before, since I haven't been pulling any street action from the othe Colombian locales I've visited.

Any advice on how to read the cedulas (some SA cedulas are screwy to read, with numbers hidden in other numbers) and also any advice on the prevalence of fakes and ways to spot them (assuming this is a problem at all)

Yes it has been an ordeal, but looking back, if I had been more insistent with my wife to come back after six mionths I would not have the problem today. Easier said than dne with a head strong Colombiana. Family is very important to her and she sacrifices her self for them.

We decided to re-open the cafe / bar and she thought it would be a good place for a gringo or other foreign men to sit, relax, and talk to the young ladies that stop and drink, relax after school in the evening. It might not be for everybody, but some guys like to kick back in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know the culture away from the beach and tourist area. That is how I fell in love with the place, but it certainly is not Kansas.

I posted after my first day in Cartagena around February 17. I mentioned hooking up with a girl I met on Cupid and wondering if she was a pro or not. This was a 20 year old very cute girl that was pretty sexual with me very quickly on msn. For background info I'm in my mid 30s and in pretty good shape, speak spanish very well one on one but get lost in groups, am a very good flirt but can't dance worth a damn.

My first day I met Victoria out for lunch and within about an hour we were back at my apartment and about 30 minutes later having sex. She was great and a very cool fun girl. I hung out with her 4 times in my first 10 days in Cartagena and it was hard limiting her to that many days. I know a lot of guys reading this have ideas of hooking up with tons of local non pros. But as I have previously stated this gets very exhausting as they all work and are all free and expect to go out the exact same time and have an amazing way of making you feel guilty when you blow them off. Only real issue I had with Victoria was that she was very young and looked the part and some part of me felt uncomfortable walking around with her. I also definitely got the vibe that she has worked before and maybe was just hoping I would be a different kind of score. After I started to blow her off she called and mentioned needing money to pay for next semester of University but at that point I had already gotten tired of her so I just said sorry I don't have cash on me.

My second day I met another girl that works at the University. Her name is Jesika and she is about 26 but only like 4 ft 9! I love spinners! Again within 2 hours of meeting we were back at my apartment and having sex. While not as hot as Vicky I felt very comfortable that this was just a nice sweet girl that I had a lot more to talk about. She didn't want or try to spend a dime or order anything that was not the cheapest thing on the menu in the 3 times I was out with her. While she was cute and seemed resigned to the fact that it was just good company and sex. Her only complaint was that I always made her leave as I was going out with other friends whenever I'd see her.

Also hooked up with a girl I met the year before on a trip again nice girl and offered sex up the first time I saw her.

I also hooked up with non pros I met in Santa Marta and Barranquilla on this trip.

At the end of the day I think the following:

1 If you are smooth and have success with women at home you will likely have success in Colombia. Spanish is a great help. But if you are good looking and can dance its not absolutley necessary as my friend that met me towards the end of the trip couldn't say 2 words but still hooked up with some cuties.

2. Unless you really put some work into it and the girl thinks you will marry her and take her away (which ends up being more work and more expensive than paying for a pro) you are likely to hook up with the same caliber of talent as you do in your home. Maybe up a level or down a level. For the most part absolutely gorgeous girls arent' giving it up to guys that don't either 1 pay them or 2 are just as attractive as they are.

3. While it is still possible to hook up with cute non pros in Cartagena it has to be the worst city in the country for it. Locals are exposed to too many tourists to make you exotic and they know most single men come to just have sex. Also, although there are plenty of beautiful locals in Cartagena I think the talent in every other city I have been to absolutely kills Cartagena.

I didn't do too much mongering on this trip but the following were my experiences for what its worth:

This is my 5th trip to Cartagena and 3rd where I expected to engage in quite a bit of mongering.

I was alone for quite a bit of this trip and I just seem to enjoy the hobby a lot more when I'm with a fun group of friends and we create a party atmosphere. Also the fact that I had a good amount of success with non pros really reduced my motivation to hunt. For whatever reason thinigs didn't go great on the paying front for me this trip.

All the bars seemed more or less the same as in years past. LDV maybe a little better than I remember Electra a little worse.

I met some great new friends on this trip and did a casa run with them. We went to Casa Rosario which I think had a great laid back atmosphere. You sit at a talbe there are girls all around and you can order drinks etc like any bar. The talent was a little below my standards of the 20-25 girls I saw ther I would rate most at a 6 (hottest girl at LDV is a 9. 5) with a few 7s sprinkled in. My friend had a good session. I negotiated her down to 125, 000 for him. I can't remember what she tried to charge him initially but it was around 200, 000 I believe which shocked me as I thought the casas are much cheaper.

We also went to Pleyclub where the talent was off the charts better. Every girl in there claims to be from Medellin. I sessioned with a girl from there for 160, 000. Although very affectionate in public the session was quite dissapointing and if not for her ridiculously perfect body would have been a waste. I must say that the rooms at Pleyclub were very nice and clean.

I also had Jayson another English speaking beach guy near where Tony has his seats call us some girls during the day. They came over and gave me the party vibe I was looking for. I think we paid each of them 150, 000 which I feel was too high but I felt tired of negotiating. Turns out these girls worked at Isis which kind of pissed me off because Jayson sold it like they were university girls that won't come to the beach as they don't want anyone to see them there. I ran into my girl at Electra a few days later and I must say that she was very sweet and fun just not what was promised.

Finally I took a Calena home from LDV. She quoted something ridiculous and I got her down to 150, 000. Again she was pretty mechanical and not my favorite when I got her back home. We never discussed whether it was TLN or not but I was ready for her to go so it didn't matter. Along with the girl at Pleyboy this was the most mechanical session I have ever had in experiences with about 15 women in Colombia. I wasn't going to complain but must admit I was a little annoyed at her asking for taxi fare to go back to LDV. I told her you are walking 10 buildings away you don't need a cab. To which she responded I can't walk down the street alone at night. Of course I offered to walk her. The constant needling for propinas tired me out on this trip! If the service was good I wouldn't have had any problem but I refused to give in here.

I was wondering if you could elaborate on Casa Rosario. What are the hours of operation and location from Laguito (how much taxi fare?) and any other notable Casa's from your little run.

Any information would be much appreciated. I'll be there next week and want to check out some Casas.

I believe it is open 24 hours a day. I'm not 100% on this. As far as my casa run Pleyclub and Rosario was all we hit as it strated getting late and a lot of us had more than enough to drink. The younger guys in the group hit electra after.

If you have someone you trust in Cartagena I think the best bet would be to have them reccomend a driver to take you on a run. We paid our guy 20, 000 pesos per hour which was a great deal for him and made us feel comfortable.

I heard of another casa. Something like "los angeles" I can't remember for sure. I was told the talent there is excellent but its in a bit of a rough neighborhood.

Jersey as far as going with 11 guys. That sounds like a blast as long as you don't expect to always be at the same bars at the same times.

I would guess there are about 50-70 girls in LDV at peak hour and maybe 30-55 in Elektra. Most likely quite a few of those girls will be below your standards and others will be occupied. Collect names and numbers as you go along and you will be able to have some sick private / semi private parties the last 2 nights.

Does anyone know if Ibatama is chica friendly? Sounds like a good deal. Cheap, clean, a / c, ect in Bocagrande.

[/QUOTE]I kind of smiled at this one. True keepers are rare, its amazing how us mongers almost always quickly get tired of them, even when they are hot and give good sex. But the first time pull with some new non-pro fine is always great unmechanical fun, and nice in this case that she didn't keep you waiting, well done.

With the nons last summer in CTG I struck out using LatinAmericanCupid. 0 for 5 out of 5 where I actually got their digits, but I am a bit older. As you say Cartagena is not the easiest for non-pros, I have found Medellin difficult too so far. Lima, Peru for nons is a little harder than it used to be but much easier than these places for the guys with more age or lesser game.
