Looking for suggestions. I have a 6AM int'l flight out of BKK, which means leaving for airport around 3AM. So I'm thinking its kind of a waste to get a hotel room for the previous evening, and that I'm better off wearing myself out a little the night before so I might actually sleep a little on the plane. One obvious choice is MPs, but is the posted closing times (e.g. 11 at Tulip) the last time you can get in or the time the girls go home? Any other suggestions for filling the time till 3 without hotel?

I have taken a 6am flight many times and have stayed in Bangkok for only 12 to 15 hours prior to departing to the aiport at 3am. In my opinion unless you are cheap and stupid! get yourself a room! It doesn't have to be expensive. You can find cheap and decent rooms at the Nana City Inn on Soi 4 ( 800-900 baht ) down from the NEP or maybe the White Orchid Inn also off Soi 4 down from NEP for 800-900 baht. Give yourself a choice.... There times even after a massage at Tulip I like the option of coming and going and just relaxing in the room watching some T.V. and then going back downstairs to snag a ST... in the end 20 bucks isn't going to kill you!

You can certainly find a Bar in Soi Cowboy open till at least 2AM if they have customers. If you pick a girl there is a ST Hotel nearby. There are also freelancers. Once you run out of interest, go to the airport.

I am sure you can manage that but, don't you have any luggage?

You can but I'm with LBM, I wouldn't. Much better to grab a girl in your room until you leave. IMHO..

But if you get to know a girl at an MP and like her you can nail her at the MP then take her out for Disco or meal or ST room or whatever if she agrees before hand. You can hang out at Cowboy or head to a late night place (if still open late on weekends mostly). But it really depends on the day of the week from my experience. Sometimes Sukhumvit is full of items to do late and sometime it is dead late at night.

Most hotels I've been at inside Asia (Philippines, Thailand, China for the most part) are willing to store luggage all day and most will even store it for multiple days. With my transits I've often left items without issues.

I am more with Bird. A room is for sleeping in the bed. Without that, its a waste of money that could be better spent at Tulip and later a ST room will do.

Another option is Annies. If I understand it right you can ger a LT there late and just use theit room until you want to leave. Never tried, but that should fit your bill and the girls are outstanding in service, so you will leave as a happy man.

First time in Bangkok and thought that I would head down to Cowboy and Shark. As reported previously there are many decent to very decent looking girls. After a beer or two I settled down with a 22yo tiny Isaan spinner who spoke pretty broken english. We agreed to 1500 ST and she promised to take good care of me. So done, bar fine and we went outside for another drink and a smoke. We were laughing it up and It thought I would be in for a good night when she started talking about her dad dying 3 months ago. A bit of a buzz kill but I felt bad and sort of let her say her bit. She also was a bit weird about it. Lighting the first cigarette in a new pack and putting it down on the ground so her "father" could smoke with her. Anyway I disregarded this and was about to suggest to leave when she went to get her friend to come over and have a drink with us. Problem was that her friend hadn't been bar fined and had to keep dancing so she asked if I would do her a favour and split the fine with her. Dumb idea but I went along with it. Anyway friend comes out in her street gear and sits down. We have a final drink and my girl suggests we go but she's a little hungry and wants to cook something for me. I don't really understand with the broken english but next thing I know we're in a taxi and at some local Bangkok market. No farrang anywhere. We're walking around and buying a stuff and she kept asking me for money. At this point I agree I should have bailed but I didn't as she kept promising me a good time. So about 500 baht of groceries later we head off somewhere "close" to cook. Well close ended up being about 20 minutes away and some sketchy ass apartment of her friends which consisted of one room and electric frying pan on a balcony. I never should have got out of the cab but I did and needless to say the rest of the night never got any better. 3 1/2 hours after we had left Cowboy she, her friend, some old neighbor, a brother who drives one of the motorbike taxis and I were sitting in this tiny ass apartment while they feasted on food I bought. Now I wasn't even remotely hungry and at this point 4:30 in the morning I had enough so I said I was leaving and she and her friend followed me out. We walked down some dark alley to a "semi main st" and waited 15 minutes for a taxi. She talked about coming to meet me later after she finished eating and I said I would be sleeping and thanks but no thanks. The cab then arrived and I jumped in the front and said bye. Next thing she jumps in the back. Whatever. After all this crap the least I could get back from her was some decent action. We get back to the hotel and had the most pathetic, unenergetic 15 minute session of my life after which she wanted to leave. She then demands her 1500 ST fee to which I laughed and said she was barely worth 500 but I would give 1000 just to get her away from me. I persisted to explain how awful the night was and how I didn't really sign up to be dragged around feeding her friends neighborhood. She insisted and said "this is business". I gave her the extra 500 but I'll never be back to be fed to the sharks again.

What is the best way? Taxi, bus? How much should it cost? I am booking the Dynasty Inn Grande and they offer a shuttle for 1200 baht.

Is that a good deal?

Has anyone stayed at this hotel before?

Should I book something else?

Or you can just store your luggage at the airport and stay in a cheap hours room with a girl near cowboy. The girls know the hotels and the room was 350 B when we arrived around 3:30am from partying, as my plane was leaving also at 8am.

Have many of you either been or seen a couple enjoy the night life with the girls at the clubs/bars etc?

William, you should've headed straight to Pattaya's beer bars. Punting in Bangkok requires savvy and cynicism. It's not a place for first time Thailand sextourists (as I learned, myself, the hard way).

I've always been asked for 3000 LT at these places. You must be very handsome, or charming, or likely both.

I often don't bother negotiating with girls for LT now, just pay them 3000 in the morning (plus cab fare and possibly tip). It's nice not to talk about money, and I only take girls LT when I really like them, and they seem to like me.
