I've been trying to get a feel for Nana Plaza vs. Soi Cowboy, so last night I started drinking in Soi. I hit five bars. I was there relatively early, around 8/8:30.

Doll House.

Unremarkable.

Baccara.

Showed promise in terms of dancers but it was completely packed with Asian guys, no place to even squeeze in and sit down; oddly I don't recall seeing any girls with any of the guys.

Tilac.

Seemed to have a good variety of girls in terms of size / shape, and I liked that there doesn't seem to be a "standard" uniform for the girls, but the girls all seemed very bored and disinterested.

Shark Bar.

Unremarkable.

Spice Girls.

Just bizarre. No customers, and the girls were all hooting and shrieking for some reason. Turned around and walked right out!

It was only the second time I've been to SC, and I have to say I really don't care much for it. I prefer Nana Plaza for whatever reason, so that was my next stop. Last night I only hit three bars there:

Smelled like farts, so again turned around and walked right out.

Spanky's.

2nd best bar in Nana, IMO. Decent shows, decent selection of girls (despite my poor choice later in the evening), and nice / friendly waitresses.

Angel Witch 2.

By far my favorite. Best selection of dancers, and I love that they seem to be slightly on the more curvy / womanly side than the skinny toothpick-legged girls who make up the majority of dancers at most of the gogos, best outfits, best music, and best shows. Last night the shows were decent, but the night prior there was some kind of special party going on where they gave dudes sitting at the bar ponchos, which were needed for the main event. There were dildos, chocolate sauce, honey, beer bottles going places they shouldn't (and guys chugging the beer after! Etc. I thought that kind of thing was illegal nowadays but who knows; it was a sight to behold though.

I did hit a few other bars in Nana Plaza the night of the beer bottle show at AW2, but tbh after a while they all blend together. None stood out as particularly worth visiting again vs. The others.

I ended the night with a cold fish from Spanky's. I have no idea why I even chose her, and I wanted to back out as soon as I saw her in street clothes but I figured by then it was too late and I was a little bit afraid of getting my ass beaten by the big Samoan-sized Mamasans! In retrospect I don't know why I didn't walk next door and pick one of the AW2 girls before I even proposed taking her out, but in the end, the deed got done and the damage wasn't too bad, so I guess I can't call it a complete waste of time / money.

So the girls standing in front of the Nana Hotel parking lot will scatter or vanish when the police show up to check for visa violations or age violations in the Plaza because they can be busted for standing in front of the Nana Hotel parking lot soliciting for prostitution. However, there does not appear to me to be any reason for them to worry about being busted for the actual exchange of sex for money (or for the customer giving them money for sex) in a customer's hotel room or apartment.

This is similar to the temporary closure of a couple of famous BJ Bars in the area a few years ago. As I understood it, they weren't closed because there was an exchange of sex for money going on. It was because the girls sitting outside were too aggressive in shouting out what was on offer, publicly promoting the business, when potential customers passed by. However, note that it is only about the exchange of sex for money IF the girl (person) is under the age of 18. And in that case, there is a greater penalty for the crime when it is done with a girl under the age of 15 than from age 15 to 18. Again, note that there is no penalty mentioned if the girl (person) is over the age of 18.

That last sentence seems to be assuring us that it is not against the law to have sex with your spouse even if he or she isn't into it UNLESS it is done to provide sexual gratification for someone else. A third party getting off on watching you have sex with your disinterested spouse who does not want to play along? Ok.

Not sure where to post the first one, she was on Smooci but the Smooci thread seems more related to issues with the service / app vs. Reviews so I'll leave a review here. I mentioned that incident intentionally for other vapers on ISG to be wary. How you deal with the officer's is pivotal. Always be polite, respectful, apologetic and sincere when dealing with the authorities (please don't try and fuck them over like I did, it could've backfired, I'm just a mischievous bastard by nature). Coming from Africa where corruption is rife, I have some experience in these kind of situations.

Regarding the article, and noting that the lady was from France, IMO, I have no doubt that she was argumentative and on a self righteous endeavor, to take the officers to task, instead of conforming and possibly bargaining for a lesser bribe. You can try and impose your rights, beliefs and values of your country of origin in a foreign country, but when it fails and you end up spending thousands, ruin your holiday and embarrass yourself, the question is, was it really worth it?

Who know's, perhaps if this story gets a lot of publicity and media coverage, the Thai authorities may consider allowing vaping in Thailand sometime in the near future. I did read a report that the Thai government was considering allowing vaping as so many holidaymakers now prefer e-cigs, so it makes sense from a tourism point of view.

When I arrived my bags were checked and scanned at Suvarnabhumi airport, and my gear was just looked at but not questioned. Previously when I flew from Don Mueang airport, I was considerably more paranoid, being a national flight. So much so, that I showed my devices to the staff of the airline and asked them if it was okay to have it in my hand luggage. They confirmed it was fine and pointed to a sign that illustrated an e-cig should be carried in your hand luggage. It's definitely a case of how you deal with the situation when confronted by officers. I recall being stopped for speeding in Udon Thani and the 200 bht folded into my passport did the trick.
