Yo Arnie,
I'm not aware of any cheap hotels in Auckland. I've tried to find some cheap ones, but you end up with dead remotes, cold drippy showers, worn out carpets and see-through curtains, and still not enough change from $100 to have a good feed.
Recently the TV had an article about backpacker accommodation, and it looked damn nice! About $60 gets you a room with TV, double bed (hint, hint) and all the basic comforts of home.
If you have a car though, finding overnight carparking might cost you more than the money you save at the backpackers. Auckland parking is difficult at best, and a bloody rip off at worst.
I prefer the security of the major underground parking by the Aotea centre (middle of Q St). Sometimes the casino can offer value, but watch out carefully for what the overnight charges will amount to. Also, the casino carpark is a friggin' 3D rats maze (each 'level' crosses 3 other levels, each 'floor' is split in 3 different areas). Note very carefully the end you park in, the elevators you exit with, the floor number and colour of the floor where you park - that or leave a trail of breadcrumbs. . . .
There's a major backpackers place right by some of the nastier brothels around Fort St (only been to one parlor there, and the choices were few, the standards low, and she was on her period - shhhhit!)
The PC is a long, but not impossible walk from there. Centrefold and Showgilrs are very nearby though.
Hasta la vista, baby!
Subject: Vinyl Condoms
Hi guys, I've done a little research on the net.
Vinyl (plastic) as opposed to Latex (rubber) condoms.
Vinyl it seems is thinner, giving a more natural feel, and better transfer of bodyheat.
On the other hand, it seems they are even more prone to breakage - so for the meantime, latex still rules unless you have a preference for oil based lubes.
Thanks for the info Tadpole......will be sticking with (no pun intended) the latex til further notice.....
Arnie,
There are quite a few hotels/motorlodges in the Aukland area. If you want to be where most of the action is, you will want to stay close to the Central Business District or CBD. The biggest problem with the CBD is cheap, most of the hotels are in excess of $100NZ per night. Aukland Central Backpackers is on fort st. and they seem to have the nicest backpackers accomodation in the CBD. The outside is pretty run down, but some of the rooms are okay. Food in the entire CBD is reasonable. If you want to have a really good lunch, try Tony's Steakhouse, they have daily specials that are around $10NZ (I had steak, chips/fries, salad and a beer for $10NZ)
I would suggest you pick-up copies of the following, Jason's guide to Accomodation, and the AA guide to Accomodation. I got both of those free at the 1st place I stayed in NZ. They list practically every motel/motorlodge, hotel, and even backpackers accomodations in NZ. I used the 2 of those as my guide for a month in NZ. I liked the AA one the most, because it had more pricing in it.
In Aukland CBD, the best value I found for cleanliness, location, etc. etc...was the Quest Serviced Apartments on Queen St.. It was $115NZ per night. and was comparable to the Hyatt Regency, which was $200 per night. For extended stay the price can be negotiated. It includes free breakfast everyday, has washer/dryer in the room, king beds, full kitchen, etc etc etc. It is 2 doors down from the Whitehouse and Monicas (which I would NEVER go back to) it is right across the street and maybe 1/2 block away from Emily's which I WOULD reccommend, Down the street from City Angels, a block from "K" Rd. about a 1/2 mile from Famous Floras and about 3/4 mile from the Pelican Club. The Quest also has Free, yes, free secured off street parking. I parked and most of the time I walked, most everything was within walking distance.
The other thing about the Quest was, there was no problem having visitors, I took many a lady up to my room both day and night. The same desk clerk saw me with at least a dozen different ladies in the 5 days I stayed there. Never once a problem or a question.
Anyway, hope that was a bit helpful.....
Thanks for the hotel / restaurant info, guys -- it is very helpful!
On the subject of Strip club which club has the best girls and experience? What about the "behind the scenes" acts? Any recommendation?
Are you guys saying that Salon 28 provides Massage only service too?
I've only ever visited the Vegas Girl (K Rd) and Showgirls.
Since finding that entry to Showgirls is free during working hours I've been a day-time patron of Showgirls.
My Vegas Girl experiences are now out of date, so it might be very different now. It used to be a show with about 4 or 5 different girls, and sometimes a topless waitress (they had one waitress with superb hooters!). The women there ranged from fine to err, tired and tatooed. A bit of skin contact was not unusual, but it was a "don't touch the girls" place. But many of the girls would be happy to stick your face between their boobs and jiggle 'em (nice!).
Entry was $20 and only open after 9pm.
It was run in a Review Bar style, with a ?DJ? whose mission was to be totally unintelligible. He made a lot of noise, but it was hard to understand what he was blurting into the microphone.
Birthday boys and stag parties were reported to get some special treatment.
Guys were sometimes invited onto stage where a girl would strip them and try to entice a bit of a bulge if nothing was happening down below.
---remember - these K Rd experiences are out of date---
As for Showgirls - this place is a lot more classy, but is more designed to fleece you of some cash. The girls expect cash tips (using Showgirls funnymoney) which you slide into their garterbelt (gives you a chance to feel some lovely leg, but no intimate touching is allowed), and you will get much better shows from the girls if you tip. A more generous tip ($5) will get you much more attention.
Showgirls has smaller, slimer, younger and generally very attractive girls. Most are shaved and will spread their legs wide right in front of you (even if it means climbing onto your table)
Night time entry will cost $, but there are more girls at night, and a more elaborate show, laser lights, blah blah blah. Night time it can be standing room only, and very smokey. I'm a lot happier with the daytime scene.
The girls at Showgirls try to encourage guys to take them aside into private booths for a lapdance, but the prices are wild. A trip to Centrefold (upstairs) will get you a lot more for almost the same money, so bugger the lapdancing (unless you have a partner you want to be loyal to).
There's now the Whitehouse and the Splash Club, where the girls swim in tanks! The Wellington board reports that the Wellington Splash Club is good. I've never been to the Splash. It sounds a weird, lame theme to me. There are better ways to get a pussy wet!
Another guy here has already panned the Whitehouse show as poor. Likewise, I haven't seen the Whitehouse.
swordsman,
salon 28 does provide straight massage, as does salon 33 in panmure, both owned by llucy. however, if you was great massage without sex, i would recommend that you went to a massage therapist listed in the yellow pages. none of the girls have any gualifacations in massage, and in my experience, most only fair skills, but you may be lucky. full service massages are offered as well.
the thai massage place in panmure does offer "good" thai massage with extras offered but i find thai massage painful and will not try it again.
Ha ha, I agree, massage can be a painful experience, but yet I still keep coming back. I guess it's like testing my manhood, being able to hold off the pain and all.
What I'm after is a good massage, and if the girl was cute too, I'd like to take it further, so I got my option, you know. It's like having your cake and eat it too.
Thanks for the info.
Swordsman,
I have to agree to an extent. I like a deep, hard massage as I am quite muscular. Mind you, I am not into pain, but sometimes a massage that really hurts is good. I have gotten bruised from a couple of massages I have received. If you find a good one, let me know......I too prefer a good massage then the option of extras......
Cheers
Tadpole,
I think you are right about the "theme" of the Splash Club in Wellington, I haven't been to the club itself, only to the massage parlour upstairs. If people are into women swimming in water tanks I think the Mermaid Bar in Aukland has the same theme (off of Fort St. as I remember) I never went there either.
I haven't been to The Whitehouse, only to Monica's downstairs. I would never go back based on my experience there.
Emily's is a place that I would compare to The Pelican Club. I was there with a wonderful Mauri lady named Sheena.......God.....what memories......
Harryr, so the girls at Salon45 can be seen from outside? I'm wondering how you guys approach your hunting sessions. See, when you enter a "place", and you don't find the girl you like, do you just walk out, or still chat inside and wait. I find it uncomfortable being seen in places like that, so I just either pick a girl or leave if nothing is to preference. Then try to go to another place.
Hi Swordsman,
Regards being seen in parlors, yeah, I can relate to a small amount of discomfort, but I'm more concerned about being seen going in or coming out. Those on the outside may be prudes or judgemental. Being seen by others once on the inside is not such a problem - because we're all there for the same thing, and nobody inside is in a position to judge or take a holier than thou attitude.
I used to be very shy of being seen going in or out. In my early days of using parlors I favoured Number 28 (Burleigh St). At the time it was OK for customers to drive into the covered parking at the back of the building, and to enter via the back door - much more private. However, the parking eventually came to an end, and the quality of the place took a dive as well.
(Centrefold, Famous Floras, Pelican and Femme Fatale all claim to have back or side entrances, although the FemFat one is often locked. FemFat is NOT a place I'd recommend anyway)
As for choosing girls - I love to have a great selection to choose from, so I favour places with a lot of girls, or with very attractive girls.
The only bother with hanging out in the reception/bar area is the imagined pressure to make a choice and get on with business.
From experiences at Mustangs, there are a lot of their customers who spend a lot of time just hanging out in the bar / pool table area (watching TV as if they were at home). I haven't witnessed the same presence of guys at other places.
I don't like to appear too choosey though. I have some compassion for the girls feelings too, and I don't like to just turn my back on them if I don't see a major catch, so I have always made a choice from whoever was available rather than to walk away. Often the bigger babes that are getting less work will put on more of an effort, or show more consideration than the pretty, heavily worked girls, so a girl from the lower end of the pecking order can be a bonus sometimes. (Although my least attractive and most smelly experience with a girl occured due to taking the only available girl (a late night at No 28 some years ago) [shuddering at the memory :(]) rather than rejecting her and walking away - that was money lost. I should have just left.
Anyway, back to the lounge area feelings - remember, you are there to enjoy one person of your choice. The girls there are offering themselves to practically anyone and everyone. They are in no position to judge you or your morals. And neither are any of the guys who may pass through.
Also, sometimes guys in the reception area are the drivers for the escorts. They may be there because it's part of their job. They've seen hundreds of guys cum and go. One more (you or me) isn't going to be of any significance to them.
It is interesting to see the cultural differences. Our backgrounds have imprinted us with some moral twinges at going to such places. Some Asians on the other hand treat the experience as something that a guy is owed and entitled to. Asian guys often travel in groups to parlors. To them it is just another good night out with the guys (they don't treat the girls with the same attitude though).
Hello all,
I am still stuck in Europe and getting even more home sick (and I am not even a kiwi).
Regarding being spotted in a parlour, I couldnt agree more with Tadpole...I actually found this aspect to be one of the best in Pelican, I was going there once a week and always spent a bit of time having a drink, chatting with some of the girls I had been with, I thought it was very relaxing and made the all thing less sleazy. As for leaving if you dont find what you want , it took me a bit of time to impose myself that self discipline, but it is definetely better than blowing 150 $ on a bad time, which normally happens when you lower your standards.
A question for the regulars of pelican, does anybody know what happened to Kate, an absolutely stunning brunette who was only working wednesdays. Before she left, she gave me her mobile phone number, but I was so paranoid that my Gf would find it, I stupidely threw it away. i'd love to see her again.
keep on the good work, I enjoy this forum, remarkably civilized and friendly.
Well, recently visited Salon 28 at Panmure and I don't think I will go back there in the near future. The girl doesn't even speak english, goodness. The management seems quite professional though, but we all come there not to mingle with the management. Anyway, there's no communal shower like described and they don't offer me simple massage, only full service. Have they changed their policy or something.
I do like Pelican Club girls, but then again, the place is getting old. I'm starting to hate the egyptian decor in there. Should I take the girls out of there or what? Is that going to cost more? The atmosphere just won't do it anymore for me. The rooms are much better (in my personal opinion anyway) at penthouse, and perhaps famous flora.
Is mustang club for gentleman any good?
