I was just there a few months ago. The place looked exactly like Gossip and is in the same exact location. So I am assuming its still Gossip. They might have changed names but everyone I was with still refers to it as Gossip.

Level 23-High priced hangout for coffee drinking. Place is meant for sightseeing and taking out girls you want to impress. The view is kind of nice especially when they have good weather outside at night. Pretty boring unless you have a girl you enjoy being with. Other than that it is not a place where you go to meet new chicks. Pretty non-happening. Probably because they priced out 95% of the population.
030-I think its one of the newer clubs. (according to the girls I was with) It is the usual electronic pounding music club. I like it better than Gossip music wise. Alot more roomier but not as nice as Gossip. I saw some girls but usually with guys. However didnt see many Fls the few nights I was there.
Catwalk-Very nice place but very high priced. Girls there think they are hot and therefore think they deserve more than what they are worth. Its important to go there early if you dont want the leftovers. If you go early you get to have a selection of the hotter girls. However some of these hot girls have multiple sugar daddies on the side and thus they really dont need you. Just keep that in mind. Some of these girls are even able to quit there jobs because their SDs are giving them 3k or more per month according to some former Catwalk chicks I met.
Reminder to practice safe sex in Saigon. Girls tell me stories of other girls knowing they have HIV and still allowing guys to do them bareback.

•Allez Boo, corner Pham Ngu Lao, De Tham. The definitive backpacker bar has closed.
•Bottom Line, Ly Tu Trong. Cubby hole for the lost and lonely. Good sports coverage, OK food, and pleasant attractive staff.
Update: These two are history already. They don't exist anymore.
Allez Boo closed. Wow! Anyone know why? It was always packed with people.
Man, can't wait to get back to check out the the scene.
By the way, anyone been to Vung Tau lately?

It re-opened after like approx 2 months. and everything is back to normal.
As for 030, it is no longer known as 030. It changed its name from 030 to
X-Club. It changed its name when it stopped its daily live entertainment and renovated and changed it into a full fledged Disco with a Hip-Hop room upstairs. However, just before the TET holidays, it was shut down and remains to be shut.
Club Palace at Palace hotel was also shut by the cops before TET but I guess they have the connections to re-open it with new renovations done to the place.
There are a couple of new places.
Most notbaly is 97 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. Heard alot about it but have yet to make it there.
There is another place located in Parkson District 1. Called Bounce on the 4th floor. Located also at parkson is another club called Corners. the entrance is on the right side of the main entrance of Parkson on Le thanh ton St.
Newbie,
What's going on at MGM?
Allez Boo closed, as I reported here awhile back, because the owner was offered an unrefusable amount of money. Even so the new owner knows with that location & skyrocketing property values he'll still make a mint. Dunno what is going in there though.
As for Bounce in Parkson it has the distinction of being the place with the most expensive beer I've bought in Vietnam. 108,000 for a can of Tiger after taxes, charges etc were added on.
Newbie,
What's going on at MGM?
MGM has been shut for about a month. Heard it was sold of. In place will be a vietnamese restaurant called Ngoc Suong.
As for Bounce, it is also known to be a place for "posers" if you catch my drift.
As to what "Nonthab" mentioned about Allez boo. The reason is because the plot of land directly infront of it is on of 14 "golden plots" which the Govt wants to auction of for developement. HEard that tenders to purchase the land infront of Allez Boo has already been submitted.
Newbie,
Thanks for the info on MGM.
Are you living there?
Where are you from?
Fellow Mongerers,
There is this one place I found that hasn't been mentioned yet, but you can literally see the best looking "working" girls in Saigon in my opinion and that's saying a lot.
Don't get me wrong though, this is not a 'true' mongering place but I strongly recommend sitting down for at least a couple of beers to view the 'scenery' inside this cabaret.
I don't know if you guys know anything about 'taxi dancing' and cabarets, but in this kind of place you sit down and a mamasan will come up to you. All the ladies are generally dressed very well including cocktail dresses, ballroom dresses, or some other tasteful but slightly provocative attire. This isn't a smutty atmosphere but you choose a lady who will sit next to you and she will become your dancing partner.
They have a live music band along with a dj that plays american music from the 60-70's and of course vietnamese cabaret music. Your partner will sit with you, chat with you, and of course dance. You can grope a little bit but in a tasteful way. (arm around waist, a little cuddling.. but not overly sexual... slow down tiger.. kekeke)
Of course, you do have the option of not taking a partner and all and just say you wanna have a beer to relax. (There's an optional bar area next to the dance floor so you can sit there.) After that, no one will pester you and you'll be free to oggle at the ladies inside this place. The lowest I saw was a 7 with a nice smile but these are true 8-10's that are walking around. Keep in mind they are only dancers. But, if you have some language skills or are able to sit with an english speaking partner and play your cards right, who knows what could happen after the place closes at around 12 am?
Ask them to join you for a coffee or a midnight snack. These ladies get really hungry after all the dancing they do and usually go out to eat afterwards. Perfect opportunity in my opinion.
IMPORTANT: These ladies are not the kind you should immediately assume would be P4P but the potential is there. Also, the general crowd of an establishment like this are the upperclass vietnamese businessmen and some foreign businessman (japanese/korean/etc.) Be sure to check the menu for prices because when I was there I didn't pay. However, I think one beer there cost about 75,000 duong. But for that one beer, you gotta check out these ladies!! I've been all over d 1 and I'm hard pressed to find better looking ones. Yeah, you heard me right. Gotta see it to believe it.
PLEASE CHECK THE PRICES on the menu. I don't wanna get flamed. The mamasan is a very professional and elegant lady, she will treat you fairly.
It's a tasteful atmosphere so try not to go overboard.
If you get tired of the normal bar scene and the 'number' bar scene, it's a refreshing change of pace without the "buy me drink", hand rubbing crotch, "take me to short time hotel" mentality. I mean where else could you get a chance to sit with a truly beautiful girl (in accordance with vietnamese standards) and have a chat without all the legwork?
TO REITERATE LOCATION:
End of Dong KHoi next to the river. The Majestic Hotel is there and next to it is Maxim's. A few doors down is bar 29. Oh, next to the entrance of Maxim's is a very famous chinese restaurant which you might want to check out.

This place is called "Thuy Thien" at District 1 District 5 border. Actually, from memory, it might actually be the next store with the "Quan 0 1" sign. Anyways, it's hard to miss since it's practically the first place on you left that consists of 3 or 4 floors. It's an open-air type pub restaurant.
It's basically a sports pub with food and beer. There are currently Carlsberg promotion girls offering you beer.
You guys gotta check out the waitresses managing the customers! Wowee! They all wear either tight clothes, skirts, or Ao Dai (I think they are the managers or reception ladies).
Anyways, the potential for pickup here is huge. Each waitress is assigned a 'section' of about 3 or 4 tables and they'll come up and make sure your ice is fresh and do other kinds of related waitress work. Try to establish 'eye-contact' and before you know it, you could be leaving from there with a number. Almost every girl I saw there was either 7 or higher. I'd say they were generally 8's there with a few higher up. The general age of the ladies are anywhere from 19-24 from their appearance.
Actually, one of the Carlsberg ladies kept coming up to my table and boy was she friendly. I noticed her keep having the eye on me but she wasn't my type.
I was just out for a beer but I could have so easily gotten her number. I don't speak any Viet by the way.
So, if you guys wanna drink in a pleasant atmosphere and check out some nice looking chicks with pickup potential. Head on over!
Location: Border of district 1 and district 5. As soon as you pass the "Cong Hoa" rotary get on to Tran Phu but it should be the first store on the left. Now that I think about it more, it's probably not Thuy Thien but the one next to it with the Quan 0 1 sign. Quan just means 'number', or so I wast told. So, it's "Number One".
Just as a side note, district 5 also contains a "China town". So, nearby at the Le Hong Phong and 3 Thang 2 ave. intersection is the Hoa Binh Theatre and some tall pagoda-like structure. I'm gonna be headed over there next time to check it out and make a report.

I'm glad that this sort of place still exists. I was in Saigon in 1991, and a whole disco dancing Cha Cha Cha in perfect syncronisation totally freaked me out, especially because an hour of dancing lady was less expensive than a beer. Do they still dance viennese waltz in those cabarets?

Brings back memories but not really all that good.
I will agree with Zackary that all the ladies in there are lookers and trust me I have been around long enough to know.
I was introduced to a group of 6 of them in a Club 27 which is spitting distance away from Maxim's. I didnt know they were from there till on night, out of shere boredom, a group of us decided to check Maxim's out. It was the first place in HCMC that I had to pay a cover charge to get it and the ticket was to cover your first drink.
Sat at the bar because the stage area and the dance floor was completely dark, couldn't see a thing so sat at the bar. A few girls were walking around and some of them looked very very familiar and I soon realised they were the girls I met at Club 27.
Anyways, they came up to say hello etc etc and plesentries were exchanged and we soon left the place. Later that evening, one of the ladies sms me to say if I wanted to meet and i said sure. Her reply to me was "how much was I willing to pay". Just out of curiosity, I asked her what was the rate and her reply to me was USD$200. after that i deleted her number.
Not surprised that these ladies can afford to ride SH and Dylan bikes.
