But for the non-conventional tourist:

A friend recently visited shitty Blagoevgrad for business, 2 hours from the Greek border - George Soros built a private "American University" there, with about a 1000 students, mostly females.

Some info about Athens:

Just behind the old municipality building of Athens there is a hotel named Vasillikon . This place used to be one of the hot travesty spots. Now with all the changes and clean up procedures in this hotel some one can find a lot of young African girls. Well let me sumarise the situation of Athens. We, the locals know that the good days are gone. The Athens of sin can be ranked as follows:

Brothels: Can be found in a relatively wide area close to the center of Athens (meaning Omonia square)

Omonia is the starting point of Piraeus Avenue, One of the roads leading to Piraeus Harbur, On the small streets, on the right side some one can find more than 30 brothels, just look for the red or white light. Making a clock wise turn towards the railway station some one can find an other 100 brothels or so between the streets of Liosion, Aharnon, Aristotelous. All these roads start more or less from Omonia but they are on the other direction.

There are already adequate posts describing prices / types of ladies / shifts. Personally speaking not my type of entertainment.

New fashion in the Greek brothels is Brothels with Non Operated Transexuals

When the crack down of massage parlors few luxury brothels appeared.

There are 10 – 15 around Athens. From what I know some are in Kallithea, some in Neos Kosmos and some in Kypseli. Well kept secrets:

There are two or three villas, each with 6- 8 very good looking girls, in the southern parts of Athens that still offer their services to a very limited amount of selective members.

The other well kept secret is a series of telephone numbers of Girls that managed to stay in Greece and continue to work with a limited number of reliable and trustworthy customers.

The going rate starts from 30 up to 150.

The Hotels behind the municipality building of Athens (Athinas Avenue) is a pure hit or miss. Very rare to get something decent.

In Kalamaki area / Posidonos avenue there are occasionally few SW

Stay away from brothels. These are places for Soldiers, Foreign workers and very low class people.

In my previous report I forgot our Harbur Piraeus .There is an area called Trouba . It's just one street behind the main harbur road. The place used to be notorius . Now it's just a dosen of Cabaret style night clubs . All of them is a pure rip off . Do not even think of Going there .

The expression uninspiring is a very “soft” one. Some times that I am doing the comparison between know and just 4 years ago, I really cry because of today’s situation. The last ten years I was working in the southern parts of Athens. Just in that specific area there used to be more than 15 massage parlors. Each one had a line up of 6-10 girls, and the going rate used to be from 30 to 45 Euros. Some of them were equipped with steam baths etc. All of the with the ability to take shower before and after the action. In the back side of the old airport it used to be a hotel and since 11 in the morning there were more than 15 really sexy and attractive girls present.

Had this not so pleasant experience in Athens so thought I'd share it with everyone:

A couple of months ago, I was in Athens on business - Had nothing to do so went down to Plaka for dinner. A well dressed local man approached me and said hello. Now, I'm a well seasoned traveller and fairly cautious when talking to strangers so just started with chit chat about nothing. He mentioned that he had just come back from Dubai and was on his way home to one of the Greek isles and was thinking about going out to have some fun.

Seeing how I had nothing to do and that what this guy had said to me about Dubai was pretty much all correct (I lived there for 6 months), I thought he was legit.

So we walk to this strip joint (sorry but can't remember the name) across from the Intercontinental hotel. In we go and immediately these 2 girls come up and sit with us. We order the drinks and the girls order small splits of champagne - Aha ! at this point, I thought, ok, here's the scam - probably 50 to 100 Euros for the champagne ! I thought what the heck, who cares, you only live once so I said ok since the other guy was also agreable to it.

Half an hour later, another split of champagne, and I thought - wait a minute here... something smells... So I ask for the price... Anyways, to cut a long story short, I walked out of there 560 Euros less than when I walked in (the other guy paid for mine and his own drinks and those of his girl). The next day, I recounted the story to my hotel concierge and he said I was lucky - He's heard of guests getting taken for 2,000 Euros !

The way I figure it, the guy is obviously on commission with the bar and I got duped like a total novice !

So, guys, BE CAREFUL talking to strangers in a strange land !

With out having the intention to defend any club establishment, I think you are wrong by just posting a message like that, blaming other people or unknown establishments than your self. You say that you are a well-travelled person and by just being a member in this forum I can assume that the experience you describe was not your first one in a strip club.

In all clubs there is a policy the waiters always advise the customers for the cost of "ladies drink" and usually, especially if they don’t know the customer they ask the payment upon delivering the drinks.

The area you describe in terms of strip clubs is very safe and very well controlled by the police in order to avoid similar incidents.

There are establishments that are very expensive and others less expensive. It’s up to you and to all of us how much we are going to spend.

I think it is elementary Prior starting the purchase of expensive ladies drinks to ask for the cost.

I am visiting these places very frequently the last decade and I always spend what I want to spend.

Next time you will be in Greece and you will be faced with a similar situation, you should ask for a receipt, they are obliged, and you may ask the receipt to be stamped plus the name of the person who is responsible. By asking you to pay for overpriced drinks and by not providing you with an official receipt they are violating a series of tax laws, which will lead the establishment to hefty penalties and/or cancellation of their licence.

This is what I do.

If I don’t like the place, I am out in 5 minutes. Some places they charge entrance 15-20Euro that is good for one drink. If I am alone I say to the doorman I want to check if my friends are in. If the place is ok I order my drink and pay directly to the waiter, If the place is not Ok I am just saying buy-buy with 20 Euros alive in my pocket to be spend wherever I want.

If I like the place and the girl, I always ask the waiter for the costs (drinks, piccolo, champagne)

If you are unable to count the ladies drinks, you may ask the waiter to leave the empty glasses in your table.

Some times they try to overcharge me when they though I was too drank, I never argued with them, but I asked an official receipt. And guess what, after that the bill was corrected and discounted.

Only a few weeks ago I had a GREAT experience in Athens. I went to this house I found in some paper ad, which is found at the corner of Pipinou and Aristomenous St.

It was by far the best experience I've had in a house in Athens in a long time. The girl is a sexbomb blonde from Russia (according to her) called Olga. She has an amazing body, I would definitely rate at least 9.5/10! She's around 1m70 and the whole experience was very relaxed in a beatiful house with a very clean room and an imposing bed with greek marble columns at four corners. It cost me 50 Euros for a half hour.

How to find it (I had some trouble myself):
Take the metro to "Victoria". As you exit there is a square (Victoria sq.) across the street. Take the Aristotelous street to the right as you face the square and move on for several streets until you find "Pipinou" str. Then turn left and walk Pipinou street for 500m or so until you find "Aristomenous" str. The house is to be found to your right on "Aristomenous" str. with the usual white light above the door.

A small update for an upper class brothel of Athens. The one in subject is located in the right side of the street just across from Marriott hotel in Syngrou Avenue. I went there few days ago to see what is new “under the sun”. First of the place in luxurious, very clean and tidy. The lady present the time of my visit was a 25 years old, black hear, with really big boobs from Moldavia. The going rate was 70 for SM and 50 for normal service. Attracted by the big boobs and the environment I opted for the normal service, as I am not into SM. I was advised to go a flight a stairs up and “get ready” in one of the two available rooms.
