You would not have moved here considering the choices available back in '99 but given the paucity of alternatives right now you might still move here right now if "now" was when you had to move. Am I wrong?
That's the quandry we find ourselves in.
Most of us understood your post re its sentence structure and grammar just fine. In fact, I quite liked the way you set up and posed your question. However, bear in mind 2-3 folks here just suffered brain freeze for its relative lack of simple three word sentences (only 1), a potentially disturbing number of negatives in there and with too many words comprised of more than two syllables.
Everyone is different my friend and has different needs and expectations. When I first started coming here, I was all into the GFE and the stunners, and the PSE and making her cum and DATY and Naughtynigelism and anal and whatnot. And I always managed to find what I want.
Now its different. Sex to me right now is just a need like taking a dump, ......
But no regrets. I guess my point is everyone has a different worldview on being here. Me, its a beautiful country with beautiful people and fabulous food and I can go out anytime I want and bag a girl that suits my eye and spend far less than I do in the states. Last night I dropped about $100 and drank myself silly too (you know what drinks cost in Spasso). If I had found the right one there would have cost me $100 more. Its all about expectations. I know how it feels to be a tourist here and know how it feels to live here too.
You seem to show attitudes, at times similar to me, at times opposite. Maybe I am failing to work out which phrases are Sarcastic. It is not clear you have really convinced yourself "its a beautiful country with beautiful people". Maybe this phrase does not apply to the entertainment venues you describe. Anyway, post was a bit puzzling to me.

Yes it includes complex grammar. However it was intelliglible, with no double negatives, and the sentence terminates in a reasonable length. No complaints from me.

And still it is a beautiful country with beautiful people, etc.

Anyway, post was a bit puzzling to me.
Naw dude, no sarcasm intended. Your reports are excellent, I love Thailand for the people, the food, the culture, the sights, the sounds, everything. I fell in love with this place years ago, and not just for the poon. Because I mainly stay out of the tourist areas, its very laid back and beautiful to me, not that the tourist areas aren't, it's hard to explain. Like, I have more fun in Maha Chai or Koh Kret or Bang Kachao or Nonthanburi or Nakhom Pathom just walking around looking at sometimes nothing, than I do in Sukhumvit looking at naked girls. Sometimes I ride up and down the Riverboats or the canal boats and just look at stuff. I'm getting ready to start hitting the central cities and up to Isaan, I have plenty of time since I won't go back to the states till Aprilish when the weather starts turning bad here. My hobby is photography and I am making my portfolio hum! I even know the different Buddha styles LOL.
My point that may or may not differ from others is that I want, whenever I want, my quickly to look like I want her to look. That's it. Not interested in girlfriend, or taking them out, or having fun, just hey baby, take the sausage and off I go. To me, some sex is better than others, but none of it is bad. I don't worry about whether this girl costs me 1000 or 2000 or 1500, hell, if I saw the right one in Spasso I would do her for 5 K, as long as she meets my particular look. But its not number 1 on my list. I'm 64, I have forgotten more about pussy than some guys will ever know if they live to be 120.
Life is short, and there is more to Thailand than snatch I guess is what my bottom line is.

I'll try lo lop off enough words to keep them at 36 or less from now on. Or is 39 the limit and he just didn't quite get there? If I have one sentence containing only one word do I get credit to go up to 37 on another one? Confer with Blanquiceleste and let me know what you two have ruled on that issue, ok?
I don't know which post you are referring to right now, presumably one I commented on from some time ago, but I have found more than one of your posts a little challenging to see precisely what a complex sentence meant, on occasion. I doubt that is being totally unfair. Maybe if I get time, I can look back for the most challenging of them. It's not just the number of words that matters! I know very well, my own written English is not great at times, however I do not try to make anything difficult to follow on purpose.

That's the quandry we find ourselves in.
Well no. I would not have moved here in 99 if in 99 Thailand was as it is now. LOL. And many factors in play, not just P4P. I should have in retrospect looked for a place that in addition to being fun and not so expensive, offered an easier and clearer path to citizenship. The last thing you want when you are settled and well into your 60s is for the nation you have chosen to move the bar for visas. That is always a possibility here.

Stuck in Thailand?

Have you considered moving or do you have too many ties to BKK I. E. job, girlfriend, etc? I know some expats have moved on to The Phillippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam due to the changing environment in Thailand. I've thought of moving to BKK or even Pattaya but I am retired and want better healthcare than Thailand offers. Also meeting new friends is much harder now that I am older. From what I read expats often meet and befriend other board members that are regular visitors. I'm not knocking that but I've mongered with a wingman (doesn't monger any more) or solo. In fact I would like to reach out and meet some board members on my next trip. I haven't done that in many years. I've read it is difficult to establish good friendships with Thais. Is that true?
Funny thing. You mentioned Tijuana. I'm in Tijuana now. I'm from Hong Kong, ran into Lew Ashby at Hong Club, met a Mexican blonde haired dancer by the name of Tokyo at Hong Kong. The very next day Lew goes to Tokyo, I follow on 12th to Tokyo, we all meet again in Pattaya after that. $100 bucks plus the room for 30 minutes of so so service sucks in Tijuana.

Funny thing, I'm in San Diego now but making almost daily trips to Tijuana. Drop me a PM and I'll buy you a beer at Hong Kong or wherever you prefer.
Time for a picture of a Mexican gal with tour teddy bear.
I really didn't expect to meet MonkeyPaw in Tijuana because I don't have full time internet access. But within a few minutes of my post, MonkeyPaw sent me a PM and within 2 hours we were sitting together in Hong Kong Gentlemen's club in Tijuana. Over the next two days we spent about 5 hours right there. I must say, we probably looked like the odd couple because we are extremely different men in just about every respect.
It turns out that MP is an interesting man and he approaches the hobby differently than anyone I've ever met, it's not surprising if he gets different results.
If you get a chance to join him for a drink, do it. It will be an interesting experience.

Yes, considering other destinations, but if I move it will be to a place with a more temperate climate. I want four seasons! Health care is pretty good in Thailand and insurance is nicely priced.

Can you guess who?
Now it's been explained to us. George W. Bush #43 described "swagger" It's called "walking" in Texas.
So there are 2 more with some serious swagger. Most can't even guess the first. I will be utterly amazed if anyone can guess the second.
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen.
Comet and Cupid and Donder and Blitzen.
But do you recall?
The most famous reindeer of all?
Hint: Santa asked him to guide his sleigh and after that, he went down in history.
You know Jackson and Jagger and Jordan and Tyson.
Meyers and Ditka and Keaton and Bolton.
But do you recall?
The most famous Michael of all?
Hint: he too was asked to guide, and after that, history doesn't matter anymore.

Swagger
At 69'yrs old I have swagger from sore muscles and tripping over broken pavement in China. Old and ugly and my daddy was not a major grifter anywhere. Still can get it up with help from the blue and yellow chemicals. Don't need those for dining at the why.
Then I went to Mixx. Honestly, what a bunch of dogs the CIS girls were... at 2 am, with a whole bunch of booze under the belt, I just bagged it and went to the local brothel near there and wham bammed the skinniest one.
Nice report. Where was that local brothel, and how much did the wham bam cost?
