Guys
Thanks for your observations. I have decided to make a meaningful contribution, probably around 15, 000. 20, 000 pesos.
Mortman
That sounds like another good option you made.
Just make sure that THIS IS IT! That you cannot handle furthermore.
I wish you the best for your helth.
Get well soon.
The teenage father is as usual nowhere to be seen and in any case is as poor as Madelyn and her family.
Mortman
And The good old Church bless it, says there should be more and more children to make the world a happier place. Dumb irresponsible horny little Filipino boys with no more than a dick and some confidence swagger into untold number of girls panties, deposit their 60-80 years lasting greeting card then [CodeWord140] off.
These are the kids that the priests should claiming should rot in hell instead of all the other inanities that the priest rail against. Then again, what would a priest know. How many girls are on DIA because of a " mistake " and will Mr White boy marry me and look after Dumb Filipino boy's "mistake".

I want to help but don't want to be seen as a free ride every time some family emergency occurs and I already have other financial commitments in the way of Daisy my regular gf and her two kids.
Well, in the scheme of things, $400-$500 bucks is a small price to pay for a little peace of mind, as long as you make it clear that you cannot be a bottomless pit.
I could swear the Philippine government ruled that the Glorietta explosion was not a bomb, but a diesel fuel truck parked in the basement parking garage. I was actually in the mall at the time of that explosion. Fortunately, I was in a different wing, with 2 cute little spinners to pull me outside. Once we stopped running one of them turned to me and asked "What are we going to do now?" Surprisingly, it didn't take more than a second for me to respond with "I think we should go back to my hotel." :D
LOL. Now that's what I call real Homeland Security.

Mort, hope you get better and have a safe trip home. I would have done the same. At the end of the day you don't want to be taken for a ride but obviously the story was legit and sometimes we should all give a little back. I don't support any organized charities LOL, but when I can I like to make a difference here or there. To me what you did is exactly that. You made a difference in someones life.

Leaving the Phils
Does anybody remember the airport tax that they charge when you are leaviing?
-
Does anybody remember the airport tax that they charge when you are leaviing?
It's 750 pesos for international destinations and 200 pesos for domestic. I believe they want the fee in pesos too. Just tuck away a 1, 000P bill from your trap money and you'll be fine.

There's also a currency exchange a few meters to your rear when you stand in line to pay the tax.

I paid my p1000 and she returned p50 and the stub.
I knew something wasnt correct so asked for the change and she said " Oh I thought you had paid in US dollars ". Stupid response for paying in pesos. Count your change!
