I'm surprised they didn't try to bust me on the kamagra. They kept trying to get me to admit that my cigars were marijuana cigars but I don't roll that way when traveling.

I stayed at Classic hotel. Those others you listed I haven't really heard of but that's because this was a completely spur of the moment trip. My friend went the day before I did and I stayed a day later than he did. I remember visiting the 2 bars at Classic. Travel Hotel. As well as Malioboro. Out of those 3 clubs Malioboro had some of the most amazing girls but their prices were worse than what HK charges. If I remember correctly the girls at Malioboro wanted 3. 5 million IDR for boom boom or for 1. 8 million you could get head only. For those not familiar with the exchange rates 3. 5 million IDR is about 250 US dollars and 1. 8 million is about 120 USD. WAY higher than HKs prices. The only plus is usually in these places the room is included and if its not its usually inexpensive. I was only in Jakarta for a total of about 3. 5 days. The one thing that stood out about Malioboro though is when you walk in the door every lady that isn't tied down to a customer will gather around your table and fawn all over you hoping you'll pick them to have a drink. You can do some touching when you buy a drink but they will try to rip you off by making you buy 5 shots of booze. We negotiated it down a bit and only had to buy 3 shots of booze to get the goods.

Like I said in my report I had an issue with customs in Jakarta and it most likely will make me not return there anytime soon. I still need to get to Philippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

Insisting your cigars are weed is pretty ridiculous. I tried smoking cigars in Indo and it was horrible- the high humidity stuck them all up.

At 11:45 Saturday night I was picked up by the police while waiting for an uber in front of the Roma pharmacy as soon as I entered Mexico. They drove me around several minutes and stopped 3 times to search me. They were accusing me of having drugs, but I never use. Eventually they found 5600 pesos I had hidden in my sock. They wanted to take all of it, or they would take me to jail. I told them I wanted to talk to a judge. They took me to the station and told the judge they found Marijuana on me. I told the judge the cops were lying and asked the police to show the judge the weed they supposedly found. The judge still sided with the cops even though they didn't show him any evidence. The judge told me I had the choice of a 3000 peso fine or 36 hours in jail. I decided to cut my losses and pay the fine. Then the judge photocopied my ID and asked me to sign it. It had three little blue documents stapled to it. I signed it and asked the judge if I had a criminal record now. He said there wouldn't be a record of this. I came back to the US right away. Does anyone know if this will show up on the computer when the Mexican immigration agents scan my passport? I'm worried about being denied entry if I try to go back to the Zona even though the judge said not to worry. Be careful everyone. The are getting more brazen with the mordidas.

This is extremely surprising & disturbing. It is hard to believe a judge would simply side the cops without any evidence. I would immediatelyvreport this to the Secretaría de Seguridad why Proteccióand "Ciudadana Municipal Address: Calle 8 va. No. 8250, Zona Centro, 22000 Tijuana, be. See. , Mexico. I have never heard of a incident where a cop would arrest someone for no reason & extort a bribe. Fiscalía General del Estado de Baja California.

It is obvious they are working with a judge. My only guess is they thought you were a easy target because it was so late at night. It is also strange that they arrested you in such a public place. The police have been mainly trying to to. Extract bribes drunk or US drivers. Hopefully corruption is not on the upswing in.

With that said, I do always wonder with situations like this if there's more to the story than what the OP has described.

I wouldn't worry about any of it being on the record. Next time don't wait around for an Uber and hop in a bus or taxi if you suspect any suspicious activity.

P.S. Socks isn't a good place to hide money. I learned this the hard way. Never again.

It is very important for all of us to report any incidents to this forum & to the Mexican govt authorities. We are most at risk when crime is rising. When I am in Tijuana. I try to take steps to reduce risks as much as possible. Better to be safe than sorry.

Mexican Americans who grew up in the US and only visit Mexico from time to time are still considered gringos to Mexicans.
