Hi ISG'ers,
I am traveling to Cebu and Manila / Luzon later this year. The Manila / Luzon part of the trip is vacation. For that part of the trip, I will be traveling by myself. I am somewhat concerned about traveling alone, as I am a bit older and not in the greatest of shape.
So what do you think? Is this possible? Likely?
Something does't seem right, 'you are not in the greatest shape, a bit older' etc. Yet you want a 'babe' with whom to party. Please give this Forum some respect.
Two weeks in Cebu is more than enough time to find a travel companion. Look for a non-pro girl if you can, not a dancer or a bargirl. Suggest having 2-3 as a backup.
I prefer pinalove, pay for a pinalove and ISG membership so you can have useful messaging.
I have two lovely ladies whom I have met in Cebu and whom are available to travel with me as per my work schedules. I am sure you will find one or two yourself.
BD.

Sort of amusing incident in the mall today. "Hello sir, good day sir" usual greeting. "T shirts sir". Yes I can see that. "100 pesos sir". Oh, so that's what the big sign says that I'm obviously staring at. (sorry. Got sidetracked there).
Anyway, I said that I was just browsing and this one is new on me: "I'm just doing my job sir, I will follow you around". I know they do that anyway, but to vocalise it was new on me! So I said "sorry but you just lost a sale then". She seemed quite surprised!
The other one that gets me: they ask what size, I say XL, so they find me a *different* product in a *smaller* size. Yes it might look nice but I can't even fit inside it!
All polite and good natured, no offense meant. Different world.

A bit confused
Hi ISG'ers,

I am somewhat concerned about traveling alone, as I am a bit older and not in the greatest of shape. So, I am considering trying to find a companion to travel with me for that part of the trip. Any advice on how to find what I am looking for? Ideally I would find a very sexy bisexual babe that would do just about anything I wanted, and would help me find other companions that we would both party with. I will admit, this is a bit of a fantasy at the moment, but I thought, why not? Maybe someone on here has done something like this and can provide me some pointers.
I'm sure it's not just me but I'm confused why being older / out of shape gives you concern of traveling alone. This is unless you are 75, have blood pressure issues and need an RN with you.
But instead, you want a sexy bisexual babe. Hopefully just a misunderstanding on my part but as BD said below, given you have some time before this trip and want a companion, the dating sites with a very clear description of what you want (minus the sexy bisexual part or you will likely be banned) might yield the best results. Put some effort into this and you can have your lady ready and not have to worry about finding someone in country with few days left. Again, say you are looking for a tourist guide, see what you get, then if there is chemistry, you can add a bit more on what other stuff you are looking for.

Paranoid, I guess

I am just 53, but way out of shape. I conceal carry in the US which gives me some (false?) confidence. I won't be able to do that over there (or can I? Prob not legally).
Thanks for the advice. I will give it a shot.

I thought about getting on Date In Asia and just spelling out what I was looking for and see what happens. I will have a little over 2 weeks in Cebu to find someone to travel with me.
So what do you think? Is this possible? Likely?
Looking forward to the discussion!
Tom
You seem a little new to this, so hear is some advice: Watch out for transvestites offering their tour service on DIA, unless that is your thing. Most of them will tell you what they are, if you ask. Just don't be rude about it. They may be able to set you up with a pretty friend.

Tom
What reason is there for carrying a gun, besides compensation for obvious physical shortcomings? Reminds me of people driving huge SUV's. The bigger the car, the smaller the penis.
Regards,
Ko.

Carry
I carry a gun in the US too, but what does that have to do with fucking hoes overseas?
It was I. The context of feeling apprehensive due to travelling alone. I would feel safer if I could carry. That's all.

Tom
Do not go any where near guns in Philippines.
As a non Filipino (or the more usual term " foreigner") you are specifically not entitled, allowed, permitted to carry or bear a fire arm.
Take a quick look at Philippines jails and you will see why you should always stay within the law in that country.
You have everything to lose, including personal liberty and not much to gain by even trying to carry a gun in the Philippines.

Related false confidence story. A lady that I'm close to (not romantically) here, late 50's, lets call her Mary. About 5 years ago, out of the blue, she changed, psychologically. I never ascertained a reason. Her politics turned hard right. She took a conceal-carry class and purchased a gun (found out about it at the gun range when I ran into her by accident). Later she bought 2 more handguns. I found out about the 2 extra guns a month ago. She invited myself and some friends for dinner one evening on a weekend. Several adults present were gun owners. Mary was spouting Donald Trump politics: "God its crazy now. Crime is everywhere". The rest of us were taken back at least a bit. One of the others reminded her that she lived in a ritzy and nearly crime-free area. The local newspaper had run such a story recently. "You people are crazy. Look at Boston and Chicago". Yes, but those places are a thousand miles away. She said she was now carrying 3 guns on her all the time, and keeps one strapped to her ankle when she sleeps at night. Without missing a beat she stood up and showed us the 2 guns on her waist, and the small (er) gun on her ankle. All of our eyes got big. WTF did she need those guns for in her home for a friendly dinner? Are they loaded? "All the time. Don't worry, I practice with them at the gun range. Can't tell you how much confidence these give". Oh my! How long have you been wearing 3 guns? "About 3 years now. A backup to my backup". There was a sudden chill in the room. We scarfed down our spaghetti and all made excuses to depart early. I felt a (fake) migraine coming on.
Exactly 3 days later, as Mary exited a convenience store in her ritzy neighborhood, somebody thumped her from behind. Out like a light. A rare robbery there. It was witnessed by the store clerk, who called for help. The perpetrator took her wallet and found the 2 waist guns and took them, too, and walked off. The paramedics revived her and hospitalized her briefly. Mary has since replaced the 2 stolen handguns.
I will give it a shot.
Nooooooooooooooo.

Probaby Unuseful Post
Noooooooooooo.
Rambling off topic a bit. I'm very interested that my family and GF have the knowledge and skill to handle safely and render a firearm harmless. Whether they ever want to shoot anything is a completely separate question. For this purpose, I recently took my GF to a basement shooting range on Quezon Ave this year, below a GMA studio. Before signing her up, I asked and was reassured several times with pretty wall certificates that the instructor was fully qualified to teach her what I wanted taught: which end shoots, how to put it on safety, and how to ensure there are no rounds in the weapon. For this first class I was completely ambivalent whether she would even shoot a single live round. The session was terrifying. The so-called instructor had her blasting away at paper targets downrange in moments. From the observation room I could see the obviously lax instruction. Fortunately there were no others there at the time. I couldn't take the risk of my GF and this incompetent with firearms, so I joined them in the lane. I stood behind her as alert as a drill sergeant with new recruits: Keep it pointed downrange. Point down, not up when not firing. When I told her to turn the switch to safe, she looked at me puzzled. He had never even showed her. The only thing I wanted to pay for was safety training, sheesh. The "instructor" could see I was a disappointed customer. He offered to let me (a non-Filipino) have free range time. No, thanks.
A few years ago I enjoyed a lovely time at New Horizon hotel in Mandaluyong with an enormously endowed MILF who worked at a different shooting range Jethro in Quezon City, but the banging was much more enjoyable.

Its one thing to rent / shoot at a gun range, but getting caught with a simple bullet in an airport can cause you great agony in phils. Getting caught with a gun on your person on the street will get you a quick and long trip to the grey-bar hotel. How would you get a gun into the country? Other gents: Wouldn't the airline find that in your luggage on the x-ray scan? I doubt PAL or Cathay Pacific is interested in your Conceal-Carry Permit. OTOH, plenty of locals have guns. I'm a gun owner, and not discouraging gun use. But its not smart to take one to a foreign country.

Guns -.
Interesting topic and from an outsider view form a country where we don't carry guns and my attitude to strife in RP.
I do use jeepneys and generally have accom out of the main tourist areas. I expect that one day I will get robbed. When this does occur I will be defenceless. The perpetrator (s) are likely to be armed. They will want my money and possessions that I am carrying. I have already decided that they can have them and everything that I carry.
They will leave with everything I have, they will be satisfied. I will lodge a police report which will go unresolved. Life in RP goes on.
As for the possessions I carry on the streets of RP. My last generation iPhone and at most the cash for my next barfine plus a few lady drinks. I will lodge a travel insurance claim and have my possessions replaced.
If I think about the alternative if during the process of handing over my possessions I decided to draw a gun, someone gets shot, someone is getting hurt, someone is going down.
Let's just get along.
BD.

I thought at the time the guy was rich, famous, and popular, so he'd hire good lawyers and get off. Wrong. One of the country's biggest movie stars did hard time--several years--in prison. As a foreigner, you don't have a hope in hell.
