My favored hangout the SAKURA has closed for good. What is your recommendation for a good relaxed mongering hotel with Wifi? Not Flamingos, Paris. Many thanks, I will be there in two weeks.

But it has a decent bed, wifi, frig, and flatscreen TV. Since it's new, the cable channels are not fuzzy (with older hotels, their connections are bad).

I like the inside rooms without windows because it's quiet. The cheapest and smallest rooms are the rooms that face the back with a small window. Many of the rooms facing the street will have twins.

Warning: last month, there was construction next door on the bottom. The lower inside rooms were very noisy from the construction starting at 8 AM. Need to ask if the construction is still on going, or get a room on the other side (which can be noisy from the street), or get a room in the back high up. Doesn't matter if you wake up before 8 AM.

Note that the rates you get via their website is horrible. Better to email them or walk up and ask for a discount. But if you go during high season, there's a good chance that it will be full.

The Circuit hotel (near Heart) seems to be good, but I never stayed there.

So, yeah, headed back to PP for work! I'm so excited I had to take some downers to keep the massive smile off of my face. After RTFF still not sure the best place for service (not looks). Where can a guy get a serious rim job on the cheap? Not worried about looks at all. Better chance at Walkabout or Cyrcee? Or somewhere else?

Just as a quick feedback, I have been here now for a couple of days, I must say this is a true third world country, a step down from LOS for sure. But I like the difference, it means everything is cheaper and more laid back), girls come in all shades and sizes, from what I have come across so far, they are more approachable and friendlier than their Thai sisters (ok, YMMV on this, but I'm no blonde 20 year old surfer boy from Aus with blue eyes. TGs favourites in Phuket.!).

But for sure there are less stunners here, well it's early days, also less sophisticated, and they don't speak much English (I wish I could speak khmer as much as Thai). Also I noticed there are a lot of local boys in the discos and even in Naga casino. Although the casino was full of Asian gamblers playing $20 minimum stake Black Jack! (too pricey for me!). The casino was full of FL, one tall one I fancied quoted $100 and even couldn't speak English (her friend helped) , she did not budge at all when I asked for a discount. (Most of them go to Darling club in the casino with $7 a beer, not for me!).

Went to a bar in 136 (I think called Lemon or something) , bought a couple of $3 drinks for a cutie, she quoted $50 and then $40 for an hour and would not come down (also $7 barfine). With almost zero English these seems to be new comers but demand premium prices! ? From what I read this is a bit higher than it should be)

Anyway, went to Pytoon, and Heart of Darkness, many girls there, I took one each night for $35 and $45 all night and was happy with them. Also many girls on the river-front just sitting or walking, I was offered $20 for an hour by a cute one, and also got some numbers, again very little English. Went to massage $8 / hr for Thai body, pricey but good, zero hanky panky, I think I need to go to the special places for that. I have a few notes on that to follow.

So far so good, I should just learn some khmer or get a few phrases written down, can not communicate with the ones I like (I. E. No long timer or very hard core).

Higher percentage will do it at Le Crycee. More of a sure thing. Not sure about "on the cheap". It will be $20 or $25 for short time, plus $5 barfine and $3 ladydrink.

If you want it for "cheap", keep asking at Walkabout and negotiate for a low price.

Yes the prices you're getting quoted do seem high. Try telling the girls you work here and have been here for a few months. They may well lower their opening asking price then.

Or try not asking them the price, just tell them: "one hour $25" or "all night $30". They will then be much less likely to demand premium prices.

The bars on Streets 118 and 130 plus any on side streets off these main bar streets tend to be a bit cheaper.

Now of course the Mekong is a long river, so maybe we can narrow it down a bit. For example, are these girls on the river side of Sisowath Quay or are they on the side that has the restaurants? And do they congregate in one specific area (say, at a certain cross street) or can they be anywhere along that stretch? Me, I don't have time to spend walking up and down the river front in the hope of finally spotting A girl, so if there's a particular spot, or at least a most likely stretch of it, that would help. My hopes are not high on this one though.

The girls are often sitting on the concrete low wall right next to the river, or on the benches dotted along the river. Or strolling along the promenade. I've been along there between about 6. 30-8. 30pm and always seen a fair number of girls there. They may also be there much later, but I don't know. They aren't on the side of the restaurants. The restaurant side is where you meet the super-cute but often expensive waitresses!

Often they don't look like working girls, with no bling or short dresses, just like normal girls. The tell tale signs are cheap clothes and if their eye contact lingers or they smile at you. They can be quite cheap. I got a nice slim one for $15 short time, including blow job, a couple of days ago.

And even if they are 'good' girls, if you ask them out to eat and meet them a couple of times they may go with you. I had one like that, but then she asked $100 for short time! She was stunning, but that was too much for me.

Went to Air Force Bar (104) last night, it was full! A couple of guys came in but couldn't get a nice place to sit and left, they must be doing good business. Many girls there (one of them told me they have 45 on their book!) , I counted about 20+ last night. There were a few super cute ones but they were playing princesses, I asked one of the older ones and she confirmed they won't go with customers just there to entertain and drain you of your $$ with lady drinks!

I then went to Rose Bar, they have a pool table at the end which I liked and played a few games. One of the girls quoted me $40 for 2 hours with 10$ barfine, this obviously is not very high with Thai standards but in PP I think I forget about bars and stick with FL. (Also the $3 lady drinks add up quickly!)

Went to Walkabout for a few, one young girl with a nice smile came talk to me, after a while just to get a feel for the prices I asked her how much, she apologetically (and giggling) said $100, I laughed a bit and she did too, but didn't bother with haggling, she obviously was trying it on with a new comer. 5 minutes later another nice slim one said she will go with me for $30 (not sure for how long it was though).

I went to Pontoon then (sorry for mis-spelling it in the last post) , and after to another bar nearby, by this stage I was pretty drunk, but took a nice cutie from there, left in the morning with $32, I felt she was expecting more, but at 5am and my drunk state, I think it was enough!

Called a girl this evening that I had the number from Pontoon, came for $30 for an hour, pretty girl but perhaps this was my first (and hope the last) star-fish here in PP, pretty disappointing, but you should expect a few like that.

Staying in tonight to recover but might check out Martini tomorrow.

I went to the Candy Bar the other day (despite some so so reports) , it is near my place so it was a last call. A nice girl latched on to me and after a drink she agreed $25 for a quicky (she said she can't go all night this time but another time, pretty face) + $10 barfine. Anyway, when the bill came it was a bit confusing, they said they don't have the concept of barfine so they built it into the bill with lady drinks! . ? So I had a look and the total (drinks and barfine) was $15 which was lower than I expected, so I paid. But the girl got her bag right away and beckoned me to go, I was a bit tipsy and forgot my change from $20! Damn! Anyway, she was ok but nothing special. In case you go there check the bill carefully and take this into account. Also she said lady drink is $3, on the bill was $3. 75.

Went to Martini Pub a few days ago around 12:30 and it was dead so I went again last night around 10:30, a few more people but a strange atmosphere, nobody talked to each other! Everyone walking around looking, winking and so on, a bit like playing chess. , building up to a checkmate, LOL! Their disco is basically empty, guys don't like to dance there (mainly older crowd) and girls can't be bothered I guess. I played some pool and took a cute 20 yr Viet girl, she said $30 but I said that is all night, then she goes 50! , ? I wasn't in the mood for haggling so I just said 40 and let's go. I'm sure the original 30 was LT. Anyway, she could not speak a word of English and only some Khmer, my Khmer is only a few words and the numbers, so we just used body language! , ? I thought she was new and it should be fun, but in the room it was very mechanical and in the morning she woke me up at 6:30 for a quicky and out of the door quicker than I could say good bye in Khmer, BTW that takes a while in my basic lingo, LOL!

I noticed there are lot of Cambo guys chasing tails in this country, many of them are in the clubs and discos, even in Martini, I first thought they were Japs or Korean or Chinese, but I heard they speak fluent Khmer with the girls and hit the same FL (couple of them hit on the same girls I did in HOD, while I was talking to one they were having a go at the other! Though she didn't give them much attention). This is not usual in LOS, you won't see Thai guys pooling FL from farang hang-outs (they have their own places). So a bit strange, I guess they get a special rates or do Cambo guys so well off, paying same prices, ! , ? (This is on top of the boyfriends and pimps who hang out, I see girls know those guys and chat and laugh with them.). Generally too many for my liking.

Also I feel there is a scam going on in the place I stay (rather not mention the name) , but whenever I bring a girl to my room I ask them before in the bar or club if they have I-D card to give to the hotel, they understand it well and confirm that they have it on them. Even in tuk tuk. Then at the reception they say they don't have it. ! , ? . ! I don't get it, the reception waves them in, but last couple of nights the security guy jumps in and say we need I-D card, again the reception wave them in. Last night the security guy finally came out with it and said, you should pay $5 when the girl has no I-D. My penny just dropped that this might be a scam, girls are probably in on it too, or just told to keep their I'd to see if I pay up. So far I haven't paid but wonder what the hell is going on. It's either that or I ask the reception and he said they copy the I-D card and may be the girls prefer not to get their I-D copied. !

One more thing, I was approached by two Philippinas on the river front, one not bad looking, after 5 minutes they said they want to invite me to their Cambodian family house so I can see what it's like. I quickly remembered this scam, so said goodbye and particularly mentioned I know all about that, they were a bit disappointed to say the least, . ? It's a well known scam, stay well away and google it if you don't know what it is.

Went to night bazzar tonight, loads of really cute girls, but no one smiled enough for a chat, I think they mostly don't speak English. I have talked to some uni student on the river front (who can speak English) but they usually bail after a 5 minutes. Cambo girls definitely have better (more) ass and tits than the Thai girls, with similar cute faces, I like them and already plan to extend my already extended stay!

Yes Candy Bar has had scams for a long time very well known in the expat crowd. Long before they moved location.

And just for your information I am still able to get FL for $15-$10 St and from Hostess bars still for $15-$20 st plus $5.$10 barfine. Ok I am a regular but this gives you an idea on what the girls will accept and still be happy with and give good service for. Just because I am paying less for doesn't mean less service in fact I bet I get good service so that I will be a repeat customer.
