Close encounters of the third kind!
Took a chance with one of the Sakinaka SPs sometime back.
0. Standard Drill.
1. Shows me some profiles. Most turn positively false on a rev image search. Red Flag #1.
2. I tell him they are all fake, he shares some "real" profiles. I select one. She is unavailable. Red Flag #2.
3. I choose a WG, he asks me to book Oyo, gives reference of Oyo. Guy at oyo tells me can't give room, wants 2. 5 K for room. Red Flag #3.
4. I tell him I need the same WG, no swapping or switching. Switching = Deal canceled. He agrees.
5. SP calls at last moment, that the girl is on leave, will provide another on. Red Flag #4.
6. Shows me all Sakinaka stuff, I sternly tell him the deal is off an he can get lost.
7. SP calls back and says will send best WG. Shares more pictures.
8. I tell him this is all Sakinaka stuff, not worth more than 6 k / night and sakinaka SP's have anyways blown the lid on their modus operandi and sinister plots to thug people.
9. he agrees for 6 k / night and asks to select, wants desperately for me to book Oyo room.
10. I negotiate with oyo guy at 2 K, SP confirms girl, asks for room no.
11. SP says girl will be in room in 10 minutes. Doesn't come for 30 minutes. Red Flag #4.
12. WG turns up, not too bad to have fun with, I convince myself and then comes an interesting turn. She needs 7 K upfront. Calls to and fro with SP and he says all payment upfront as he has to respond to his boss. Red Flag #5.
13. I politely tell him to cancel the deal completely. He threatens me with dire consequences, "You are right there, the madam is in the room, see what I will do now; The girl is in the room, you will see what she will do to you! You never dare a Punjabi like that, this is where I lose it. I tell him "Don't try to tell me what you can do! You need to start worrying what I will do to your girl now! He mellows down, tells me "she's such a lovely lady. Etc. Etc". I wear my shoes and walk out of the OYO. This is where things get really interesting.
14. I try to hitch a rickshaw (auto). No one is stopping at 11.00 PM. I start walking on the lonely road. 10 steps and I find one auto is standing on the road, I jump in it and tell him to start moving. He looks around and doesn't move. Says he is waiting for someone to hand him over the key and will need 10 minutes. I tell him its too much time to wait. So I walk another 100 metres and I call out to a rickshaw passing by on the road.
15. As I sit in the rickshaw, the driver asks me, "sir, you sat in the other rickshaw, what happened? He didn't want to go where you wanted him to go?, tell me where do you want to go, and I will take you there" - Red Flag #6. Made me suspect I had eyes on me. I only give him a road close to my hotel and do not disclose the actual location or name of my hotel. Halfway before my destined road, I ask him to stop nearby where there is an ATM. He turns back and tells me, "your destination is way ahead, why are you stopping here? I tell him, I have some other work and he needs to drop me and push off.
16. I enter the ATM and spend some time checking balance etc. He keeps standing in his auto outside, fidgeting. Probably then he figures out that I am looking at him and he drives off. I come out of the ATM and start walking again, vigil if the Auto guy is still around.
17. I find a late night ice cream parlour and spend an hour eating ice cream. LOL.
18. Its 12.30 am and no autos on the road. I walk back to my hotel.
19. The SP keeps calling and messaging on whatsapp. "Sir, please make payment, promise very good service, WG is still waiting at hotel". I hit the block button and blacklist him in contacts.
Not sure if things were really close to turning awry or I was just being paranoid. All in all, better sense prevailed but I lost 2 k for the OYO room booking. Took one for the team, this illicit SPs numbers end in 03420 and 14686. Avoid.
Learning.
1. Sakinaka is off-limits. LOL.
2. don't pay for OYO before the WG arrives and all is in order. Ask the WG to book and pay her instead.
3. Let the brain rule!
