Kind of odd gearing. I usually get quotes of 300 ST / 500 LT, if I talk price first. If they want to leave a bit too early, I don't usually object and give them their money - but it's one of a number of factors that may determine repeat custom.

Do not like to have a stranger in my hotel room, having to talk to and entertain her etc. In JKT at the moment, and Classic Hotel has beautiful girls of all shapes and sizes for 270k, making 700k for LT expensive for me. I was recently at one of the gazillion malls in JKT and in the food area, I had a boatload of really good Korean food for about 30K (No Bintang). If you spend 250K for a meal, you made a mistake somewhere in your "choice" process.

I've had wondderful times with girls from Semerang, Surabaya and Bandung and Bali who have all come to JKTA to be with me. All worked out fine. But then again, you will never know if you don't try.

Its always good to have an exit plan in case things don't work out. Such as a hotel you could go to in case you had to escape. You may also want to be cautious with how much details you give her about you. I always given them a made up name and make sure they have no chance to see my real name. Suggest when you get to the hotel that you "offer" to lock up her valuables ie ID card etc in your safe and you have the combination. I do that a lot as it gives me leverage in case needed.

That's also my favourite way of eating out when in Indonesia and especially Jakarta. You go to a shopping mall, decide which of the food areas you want to use (many times there are more than one) and then decide which type of food you want.
You have your food in less than five minutes for about 30-35K, including drink (fruit juice or tea).
The only problem sometimes is finding a place to sit, but I never had to wait for more than five minutes for that.

Have been enjoying advice from this forum on things to try in Jakarta, my most recent experiences:

ALEXIS Hotel:

My favourite place in Jakarta. Located north (ancol). Search on www and you find the address. The best entertainment centre for men I ever been.

Been trying both the Karoke "shows" and the "spa" in level 7. Advise: know what you want prior going there and also the price level.

Karoke. Level 3 or 4. Quite expensive for room. Girls did full nude dancing show. personally, i think jkt is less fun than bkk but then i am in jkt at the moment, because i need a change of scenery once a while. it is all "personal" taste and all that.
