These were the observed amounts going to and from the airport at around midnight when traffic is light to none, and taxi drivers are not as busy. A taxi driver offering 400 baht, including toll fees, is fair while 500 baht is worth considering though not over that amount. Tuk tuks are dangerous to ride in given it's a death trap and because the driver tries to go as fast as possible, cuts off cars, and other drivers are reckless as well. The preference is to ride in an air conditioned taxi, however tuk tuks are fine going short distances for a hundred baht.

While researching rides via a taxi service, not to be confused with actual taxis, from BKK airport to Pattaya, 1000 to 1200 baht is the going rate by sedan and 2000 baht by large van (8 people). A ride from BKK city to Pattaya is 1500 baht by sedan and 2300 baht by large van. Just double the price for round trip. Popular options seem to be Nam's Taxi Service, Cherry Taxi Service, and Mr. T Taxi Service. Ended up going with Cherry Taxi Service due to quicker e-mail replies, and Mr. T never replied to me.

May write a trip report to Pattaya next week, but it's a weak report.

Hotels.

Nana Hotel (Sukhumvit 4) is mediocre at best with roaches that can be seen at times in any part of the hotel. Checked out then stayed at the Dynasty Grande Nana Hotel (Sukhumvit 6) which a nice hotel with ok amenities which I would recommend. Most of the group stayed at the Majestic Suites (Sukhumvit 4), however it wasn't liked due to the bathtub being excessively high off the ground to step into, and water would make its way to the floor due to poor design. Rooms were run down in general with broken bits like the bath drain and toilet seat. A buddy stayed at the Solitaire Hotel (Sukhumvit 11) which was the nicest of what was observed though this hotel was a bit out of the way considering the group was localized near Nana Plaza.

SOI Cowboy.

This will be a quick run down and won't be of much help due to no prices. Known scam bars owned by the arab are: theéjà Vu, Kiss, Midnite, Rawhide, Rio, Sahara, and Spice Girls. Wish there was enough time to check out the single sized places like Lucky Star, Toy Bar, and Moonshine Joint, but they didn't seem as inviting as the bigger clubs and couldn't accomidate a big group.

Checked out Tilac, and it had customers spread out with a good atmosphere. Cowboy 2, who charged a drink to get in, had a very fun atmosphere due to the girls' interaction which made it a favorite. Dollhouse has the table top dancing upstairs, but downstairs had a better atmosphere though didn't stay long. Shark bar was also fun where an hour passed by quick. Checked out the 10 PM show at Suzie Wong which was a single girl shooting darts at balloons being held by customers at different areas of the club. Baccara was very busy. Didn't get a chance to check out Crazy House and Kazy Kozy.

Didn't barfine any women here due to scaling barfine prices and proximity to hotels. Visiting here was more a guys' night out. One thing to note are the tourists here negatively impact the area as they have no intentions of going into the bars to buy drinks, sit on the chairs at the outdoor bars that otherwise can go to a punter, and take up space in the middle of the soi in sheer disbelief while taking pictures. As this is more publicized through social media, the fear is that these adult playgrounds will be worse off in the future. As of now, it seems Nana Plaza isn't as affected.

NANA Plaza.

Start with the 1st floor. Twister has the biggest bar yet the worst atmosphere as the girls inside looked disinterested. Sat with a bargirl outside Twister and negotiated 2000ST and 700 BF. Rainbow had a flat atmosphere too. Playskool seemed like it has LBs inside though cannot confirm and didn't stay long.

Onto the 2nd floor. Get spanked by foam sticks as you walk past Spanky's. Stopped by Angelwitch and liked the change of pace due to the rock music being played though wouldn't BF anyone there. Because there are many girls working in both clubs, there's much to choose from though the ratio of good and bad looking is similar to that of other clubs. Red couches at Butterflies are a nice touch. Final notes: far less tourists compared to Soi Cowboy, lots of LBs if that's your flavor, value is not good when going to go-go bars but fun to go to.

Thermae.

At the basement of the Ruamchitt Plaza Hotel with the entrance towards the right (when facing hotel) and down the steps, you're directed to the drink counter as soon as you enter and standing room in the back. Walk in clockwise direction and by the 2nd pass you have a good idea of who's there. For the jokers who walked counter clockwise, didn't get out of the way and simply shouldered them. Funny seeing an old ex-pat, punk kid with parents' money, or smaller Asian go from laughing to not in a split second, but they have to get with the program. Talked with 5 women, seemed like the 5 best looking of that night, with prices ranging from 1500 to 3000 baht.

Not digging it so just left after 1 drink and about 1 hour spent. The pros are that there's a lot of women in 1 spot, able to talk to them in a speed dating format, and many will touch your arm, smile, and make eye contact to show interest. The cons are the slightly higher price than a street FL, and the sex won't be better or worse than that of a FL though more on this later.

Street FL'S.

Best bang for the buck as prices range from 1000 to 2500 baht standing about on Soi 4. Most of the 1000 baht women are rough, but good ones can be found. 1500 to 2000 baht was the norm, and these girls are about a 4 to 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. Some of these 1500 baht FLs can be had at 1000 baht if hotel is close and tell them 1 shot within 30 minutes. Just pay for 1 month of premium service. Made a mention at the end of the Thermae section about the FL which segways to the next section. Let's talk about 1 girl who has 3 price points for the same ST.
