Among all the men paradises in SEA, Cambodia has the ugliest girls IMHO. I don't understand how some crazy Jap tourists could pay such money so some ugly girls.

quite few years ago you might have got a $5 bang in vietnamese brothel or a chicken farm far from phnom penh but now such places have gone to $10. most if not all of the cheap vietnamese brothels that used to be located not far from riverside are long gone. they were full of thieves anyway.

the girls in brothels or chicken farms generally do not speak any english and the conditions and hygiene are definitely wanting. and $10 is for one shot. the price may now be higher as i have not been around those places for about 2 years. by the way, these places were far from phnom penh where the prices are higher than everywhere else in cambodia. perhaps you can get it cheaper in some out of the way locations in cambodia but you would probably have to speak khmei to even find them let alone get access. and the conditions would be terrible, to say the least.

paying $20-25 or for a girl who is experienced with foreigners and gives them the kind of service they want and who has mastered some hygiene standards, where you can fuck in the comfort of your own hotel room, in the massage place or in the one or two places where there is a relatively clean back room with shower is a far more comfortable and secure experience than a $10 fuck in some cardboard place or chicken farm or local brothel where you don't know if someone is going to rob you.

when dealing with chicken farms, i always took along a local or a locally based expat who i could trust for security and usually had the girl taken to my hotel overnight. i avoided anyone that even appeared to be **** and stayed away from a place that i suspected had trafficed girls there against their will.

one hotel (since shut down) used to send out for several girls from the chicken farm for me to choose one. my experience with these ladies were very varied, from absolutely wonderful (from a girl who could not speak a word of english) to terrible. some of these girls were used to the fast and furious sex with locals and could not understand that foreigners want to take their time and enjoyed a long bj etc. these places were all far far away from phnom penh.

Yesterday evening I was riding on Str. 70, there were maybe 20-30 street girls at all, unlike a few weeks ago they ALL asked 10$ and only one agreed on BBBJ, one girl had the guts to say in good english that "nobody gnam-gnam" which is pure BS, only one agreed to shag for 7$ but then I refused as I just wanted to check the prices and she looked like shit anyway.

you'll have to speak some khmer and upstairs they've some girls doing the usual 2$ massage + happy ending (1-2$ tip, up to you, some don't ask any tips).

cardboard brothels are a bit more tricky, foreigners arent allowed into all brothels, girls will refuse you entrance or tell you they do nothing.

i know of three brothels in the port area (northern end of sisowath quay) , all vietnamese and price ranges from 6 to 10$ negotiable, but it's 5$ for khmers.

quality is very low but in one of these i found a very energetic viet girl she does great bbbj and good boomboom, the other two were depressing, lurid, smelling bad, and better to be avoided.

as for security, if in doubt go there in the afternoon when there's few or zero customers.

i've never had problems but at one point i was a regular so to speak, i met a couple of the girls also in bars, they know me and we became friends, one of them used to stay with me lt all day for just 10$ and she invited me often to eat khmer and drink with the other ladies in their shack.

quality : indeed, as you've noticed barely 10-20% of the chicken girls are any good, it takes time and luck to find the diamond in the rough, i can't think this is something tourists can afford unless they go there every other day.

infos : i've no idea about chicken farms in pp, i'm sure there's something but so far i've yet to explore the outer suburbs.

i can only tell about snooky and i recommend the chicken farm there but it ain't a place for everybody!

A bar I like, however I was unsuccessful to convince a good looking, hot girl to go with me. I went a second time and she said that she would go with me when I return tomorrow. Well, that never happened of course.

'Candy Bar':

Probably the largest bar with the most girls. Open 24 hours. When you enter some ten girls will approach quickly and stand around your table, word- and smile-less, creepy in a way. Once I tried to pay with a ten $ bill and the mamasan said the money is 'no good'. (It was a 1963 series bill.) The bar is a rip-off joint, stay away.

'Hooters':

I like this bar. Except for the two lady managers the girls don't have big tits like one would expect from the name. Free pool table, girls are happy to play. Pretty much all girls are take-out, except for one stunner who sometimes comes in when it gets boring for her at her house. She is married to a guy from Holland. I barfined ($10 / day) a girl for a three-day motorcycle trip from this place which was an entirely satisfying experience.

'Blue Room':

I would guess the answer is we travel in differently in Thailand and not to the same bars. I have been traveling in SE Asia & Thailand since 1992, North Asia since 1977, lived there for over 8 years. I guess things have changed since 2009 or perhaps maybe it is time to "get off the beaten tourist path in Thailand"? Last time in Thailand, never ran into bar girls asking for lady drinks and then refusing to go out. That is the point I am making "they are really not in the business" they are there to get money, not to provide sexual service. They are interested in making easy money from those naive enough to hand it out. Why leave the bar for two hours or a night and miss out on that free cash? Once they ask you for a lady drink, you know they are likely not in the business. A way to find out, ask them to go immediately. The bar girls did not think up this scheme the bar owners did and they all make a lot of money from it. If a person is looking for a short or long time perhaps they should hunt where it exists, this is the point I am making. Or a person could just hang out buying lady drinks hoping for the best, not for me, my time is too valuable. When you walk into a bar and they ask for a lady drink you should know you are wrong place if you are mongering. In most of the bars at least 50% are willing to ST, some do only ST and other do both ST and LT.

The other girls are often newbies and only do lady drinks, so of course they're a bit more aggressive considering they only get paid 1$ or 1. 25$ for each lady drink (you pay 3$ or whatever).

Then you have the girls who refuse ST / LT because they're on their period, or because they're tired, sick, whatever reason, or simply because they don't LIKE YOU, yes I know a few bargirls who are very selective on who they shag and it's not based on the price you offer, not at all.

Some girls boomboom every night, others are ok having sex just once a week, they don't give a shit actually as with 3-4 customers a month they're already earning a GOOD salary and back home they've their boyfriend and their baby.

So, what's the plus in wasting time in bars? Strictly speaking bargirls are not "hardened" as the freelancers and not desperate as the street hookers and considering they don't boomboom they're relatively "safer" and in case of troubles you can go back to the bar and complain with the owner.

Every bar has strict rules about this, stealing to customers is forbidden for example and they're fired on the spot if a customer complains and then it turns out the girl did some crazy shit, this means she'll not find another job in the nearby bars and she will have to go elsewhere or in another city or start freelancing (martini, walkabout, sorya / 51, etc).

And finally, MOST of the bargirls have one or more sponsors, that means hundreds of dollars per month doing NOTHING, and that's the reason they're so lazy relaxed and not hardened and can turn down customers they don't like.
