Another vote for the GFE and for online hookups. There are a lot of charming Indonesian women out there who are fine to hang out with for a week or two and they aren't that hard to meet. I'd recommend AsianEuro (now changed to AsianDating or somesuch) and Dating in Asia. Of course, if you don't actually LIKE hanging out with women except to shag them, then the idea probably won't appeal.

Personally, given the choice of eating, sleeping, watching movies and going to malls by myself or with a hot, friendly, fun female, then I'll take the female. But the brothels in kota are a good bet if you are really committed to avoiding conversation with the opposite sex.

good morning,i arrived in cgk last night and headed straight to my hotel, the sheraton media. i was tired after hours of flying and decided just to wander around the hotel.

if you exit the sheraton to the letf and continue walking past the first intersection, you will see to your left a tall building with neon lights: fashion hotel.

lots of taxis at the outside, which i believed was a promising sign of things to come, so in i went. inside, very similar to alexis: a club on the 10th floor, and a "spa" on the 6th.

i headed for the club and saw it was a kind of "straight" club, with a local crowd of rich kids and a very good band on the stage.

one beer after, i left for the spa floor, where i changed into swimming trunks. i spent some time in the jacuzzi, and then went for the massage. place was packed with locals, many of them very young.

i was led to the massage room and in came my massagist. what followed was 1h of soso shiatsu, no extras.

girl was young in a very short skirt that let me peep at her legs and undies. with such an "uniform", i assumed there were better things to come. massagist did not speak one word of english, which did not facilitate things (wel, to be fair, i don't speak a word of bahasa).

total damage was 140k, which was not a rip off, but left me vying for more.

any of you guys have been to this place, and did i misread it entirely or this is as far as it gets?

Any monger know what is the real name of the hotel where they have lots of massage girls and about 10minutes from the airport. What to tell my dear taksi drivers and he would have zero doubt about the place. I know it is around cenkareng airport because someone told me.

What is the going rate there and is it the place you need to rent a room before get massage? Is it true it is similar to travel hotel? Price?

the hotel has a 'health centre' on the 2nd floor offering massage services and in the basement carpark there is a karaoke and executive club called nirvana.

in the hotel lobby there were some billboards advertising both places. i arrived there about 4:00pm. the billboard indicated nirvana was open from 1:00pm but when i went down there i found it deserted. went back to the lobby and asked someone who told me it opens at 9:00pm and there are lot's of 'ceweks'. so this might be the place barson refers to.

the massage service was offered at three different rates for 90 minutes depending on the type of room. the highest rate was rp 200, 000 for vip which means a standard hotel room. i can't remember exactly the other rates but the cheapest was for a kind of cubicle rather than a room. after seeing it i said no thanks and opted for the vip. i asked if i could choose the masseuse but was told it was 'recommendation only' so i said, 'ok, give me someone 'cantik'. i was given a key for room 407 and headed off to the lift. was not asked for the money up front or my name. i could have just walked off with the key if i had wanted to. at this stage i didn't know what range of service to expect. went to the room and waited for 10 minutes before the girl (whose name is vera) arrived. not the type i fancied for full service (if available) but she seemed very friendly.

turned out the massage was very good and included lot's of 'teasing' from early on, which is a clear signal that more is on offer.

eventually the 'offer for more' was made verbally but came with an asking price of rp 1.5 million which made me laugh a bit uncontrollably. i would have left there and then but the price quickly dropped to rp 1 million. i continued saying no and the price came down to rp 800,000 at which point she explained that this price included the rp 200,000 for the room. rp 600, 000 for the plus plus was still ridiculous but in the interests of research for isg i decided to proceed. but i also asked for some 'mandi kucing' to which she immediately agreed and i wasn't disappointed. probably the best madi kucing/ball licking i've ever had. overall the massage and extra service was really excellent but then came the disappointment. i had in my pocket exactly rp 1 million fresh from an atm machine in crisp rp 100,000 notes. i took out the 10 notes peeled off two and handed her the rest. she counted them and said i had only given her rp 700,000. i tried to take the notes back to check but she would not let me count them. then she snatched at my other hand and managed to take one of the other two notes. i was pissed off but didn't know how this situation might escalate if i tried to do anything about it and decided best just to leave and vent my spleen about it on isg. when i got back to the lobby i looked at my watch and realised i had been in the room for less than 60 minutes. so as well as being ripped off with the payment i was short-changed on the session time.

i'm still curious about nirvana executive club. when i have time i will check the place out on a repeat visit but i will be giving the 'health center' a wide berth.

Thanks for those who have reported on Travel Hotel; I decided to give it a go. At last - a girly bar that does what it says on the tin and does not rip you off.

It is not easy to find, but the directions on post #881 in the Jakarta Hotels thread are spot on. You can get to the bar through the hotel, but there is also a direct entrance to the left of the hotel entrance. Inside, I was given a numbered tag then showed into the bar area. Mama San met me and showed me to a seat. The girls were all seated in a separate area off to one side. I ordered a local beer ($4) and Mama San asked if I wanted a girl, and what type I preferred. She brought a real stunner for me and although she did not speak much English, she was a lot of fun to be with. I bought her a drink (iced tea $3). Mama San told me it would be $35 for ST including the room charge - paid direct to Mama San.

In the room a maid came and took our drinks order - another beer for me and an iced tea for the girl ($ 7+ tip). We then stripped and had a long lingering shower together and onto the bed for the action, which was great. We then showered again and dressed. I gave the girl a $10 tip before we left the room.

I was worrried about getting a huge bill, but when I left and paid at the reception on the way out, the bill for drinks was exactly right, with no 'extras'. The whole session, with drinks and tips, cost less than $60 and I got exactly what I paid for.

It's been awhile since the last time I was in Jakarta, maybe 3-4years--WOW, where did the time go? Been exploring Bali more instead but do miss Jaka. so plan to visit again later this year.( time permitting).

1)Now the last time I was there I was with another friend so we always went by taxi everywhere and didn't see all the little things Jakarta had to offer inside a cab.
This time I will be going alone and plan to rent a motobike to do my own exploring. Yes, traffic is pretty bad but I motobiked around in Phnom Penh and HCMC and these places can be just as bad.

Any of you boys know a decent motobike rental place with newer (or even older but reliable) automatics? I heard prices are fairly standard at $4-5/day (any shops in the Jalan Jaksa area as I might stay around here next time)

2)Last time I was there, I used Asiarooms to book my Jakarta hotel for about $55 or so (don't remember the name) but it was NOT a convienent location and a bit far from everywhere. This time I plan to really "save" and plan on staying at the Jalan Jaksa backpacker area. It's a Plus as it is in between most venues. My taxi drove by this place and it was always crowded so may give this location a go.
Any recommemdations for any hotels in this central area? I'll report back if this place was worth it. BTW: I assume hotel rooms in this area are GF? I have to ask as I made the mistake last time as the hotel I booked was NOT GF. Hotel staff didn't allow my guest in even though I booked a double.

Another thing, I meant to explore the Kalijodo area the last time around but never had the time. Plan to explore this place and write about it on my next trip. Only question is, I can't seem to find this area on my Jakarta maps.
Any ideas what major streets and cross streets this area is located. And just how far is this place from (lets say) Kota or Gambir?
So, can anyone give me accurate directions if I plan to motobike it there from central Jakarta (starting from Jalan Jaksa for example).

PM me with details if you like. Also anyone could PM me with info on Jalan Jaksa hotels and moto rentals , if you choose to keep everything from lurkers.

Filipina's certainly seem to be the most organized, systematic and aggressive about using dating sites compared to other girls from the area. I've never really got close enough to tell whether they are mainly looking for a husband or for fun or what. You can set a filter somewhere so that you only get messages from one country or area. I'm only interested in women in Indonesia, so that's what I do.

Yep I get more interests and messages from the Philippines than anywhere else -and I'm not even looking there. They are clearly the most aggressive in searching on this site. If you want to take a side trip, I was told (by another member) that he managed a high rate of success over there too.

However, it is well off my radar as (in my Home Minister's eyes) the Philippines has been removed from the map of the world, and only exists in some surreal suspension of space and time. I don't mind as long as Indonesia is available as a happy hunting ground. Enjoy yourself, and keep tab of the girls - it would be quite interesting to meet and compare notes one day...:)

always its a massage in a guest room, but most i can recall paying was rm 500-600 including room cost.

always they try and go slow with the massage so you need the full two hours.

always the girls have gotten naked when prompted and generally they are in the over 30 bracket but a few were less and better.

however no.one has ever tried to take money from me after payment.

i would have been as unhappy as you are. but don't worry, theres lots of fun in jakarta. try many places for a variety of experiences.

Gripping stuff. How do I filter them out, as I too am only interested in Indonesia. I even wrote on my profile, "If you are not an Indonesia woman, living in Indonesia, please don't waste your time".

I've been in Jakarta a good few years and have been to many places but have never had any bad experience with payment. I have certainly had such experience outside of Indonesia but it has been accompanied by equally crap service. This time the service was great. If the girl wasn't so damn greedy she would have got herself a repeat customer. Strange.
