L Uomo girls get seen every 2 weeks by Dr Silvera at Largo do Machado...Very very few of them do not have genital herpes, which erupts several times a year....this is routinely dealt with with a recommendation that they take a few days off. They get given a piece of paper and they choose whether to show it to the manageress. Blood test results, if positive, get communicated to management, Nothing stops the girls to do a "programa por fora" with all of us who have their cell phones...

I have HSV1, ie. A cold sore show up on my bottom lip approx once per year now for each of the last 20 odd years. It exhibits all the symptoms you might expect. Some irritation\itchiness for a couple of days prior to appearance, it then shows up in the exact same place every time and then after 3-4 days it backs of and dissapears. It does seem to be linked to stress and causes me no distress, either emotionally or physically.

Now, I am married and have been with the same woman, (with some occasional mongering thrown in on the side. More about that later), for the last 15 years. I have DATY with her hundreds\thousands of times, DFK, etc. Etc. Admittedly not when I have an outbreak. To date she has not caught HSV1, either orally or genitally, nor have my 3 small kids who I regularly kiss on the lips. Conclusions from this?. She either has caught it and never had an outbreak or never caught it. Your guess is as good as mine.

Once other piece of interesting data I found in researching this was that the presence of HPV1 in someones system results in creation of antibodies that offer some pretty good protection against HPV2, (40 % is the figure I read).

The Doc's only explanation was that I had been unfaithful. (What a c*nt, why the f*ck even test for it if, based on my research this is only tested for if the pap screening is irregular etc, etc.) Anyway, the wife's pissed. Fast forward 12 months later, (during which I had mongered 2-3 times in Mexico), the wife goes for her annual check up and pap smear etc. Etc. Retest for HPV etc. Everything comes back normal. Wife is still pissed. Dr reemphasises what she thinks, (ie. Unfaithful hubby), or at an outside bet a false positive on the test. To top all this. The wife has yeast infection at the time so "just to be safe" she tests for every god damn STD under the sun, (all negative). I felt like killing the Doc of course.

From time to time we get a seasoned monger state that they have never caught an STD after 20 years or so. And I believe them. Occasionally we hear of a monger owning to catching a dose and taking the ABs but I've never heard very much about a monger owing up to having caught Herpes (HSV2) or the wart forming version of HPV. Maybe we should have a poll or some of you would like to jump in and tell of their experiences with specifically HSV. (PS. I'm going to Rio and BAs in a couple of weeks for a 2 week trip.
