Medellin Reports

I reported on the Cali section how bad the situation there was; now I am in Medellin and I feel I am back to life again; in centro its business as usual; lots of working girls in the streets and no trace of riots or demonstrations whatsoever; Hopefully it will stay like that.

Cali has this tropical third world country feeling but Medellin has a more European outlook.

Prices in the streets go from $10 to 15 and you can really have spinners.

Lots of venezuelans; they are the cheapest and just a cute as colombian.

I know the fears after the videos of stabbing on plaza Botero and I was afraid too. But once you are there, you tend to forget about it; and there is a heavy police deployment.

Bottom line don't go to Cali for a while.

It's economic, social-political, cultural, legal framework, addiction / mental health etc. Related. No one issue is solely responsible in any country. Heck there are even within country variances. Generally speaking, poorer economies, where prostitution is legal, culturally more tolerated, drug use prevalent, and the politics more chaotic that makes p4 p more available.

I don't know how many times or how much experience you have there, but it is not like Tijuana, with one of the differences being the last thing you want to see in Tijuana are the Police. Again watch your back, especially if your an obvious gringo. As your aware the ladrones are always looking for people with something of value, and their mindset is that all foreigners have something of value, and hence are on the top of the list as potential targets.

On a positive note, no lockdowns this coming weekend and the curfew has been relaxed until midnight, meaning there will be lots of partying going on in town.

Plenty of information was posted in this thread in past years. I suggest you make a search for "swinger" and read the many reports including that keyword. There are just few ones, but this is Colombia: Medellin and Bogota are not as the sinful capitals of Europe. SWs in Colombia are interesting, but nothing like the clubs we have in Europe.

The problem is COVID (you may have heard that there is something around that has impacted and impacts our lifestyle...). I do not know if the few swinger clubs in Medellin still exist, are still open, ultimately if any couples still go there, while COVID is such a threat. I would wait next year before hoping to see those clubs active again as in the past.

Whats with having to wade through all the deep political posts, its been going on for days now and its getting way too serious. The issue is when folk are looking for info and reports on poon in Medellin they are going to have to swim through posts on taxation, Republicans, Democrats, socialism and other totally non related nonsense. Isn't there another section for this?

At the moment there doesn't seem to be much point in posting reports on chicas if its just going to get lost in all this political debate. Surely admin should step in?

Avoiding getting caught up in a protest which turns violent is something most of us would rather avoid.

However, it's either US political babble or ridiculous hyperbole about Colombia by people who obviously know little or nothing about Colombian history and politics.

2) I brought:
- one example of ultra-capitalist country (USA) where mongering is a nightmare and the hooker-to-john ratio is depressing;.
- one example of communist country (Vietnam), where mongering is fabulous.

I disproved a false statement, which claims a relationship between conditions that are not correlated (socialism / capitalism vs. Ease of mongering). I did not prove that socialist countries are where mongering is at its best.
Probably now someone will rebut that USA has been approaching socialism since after the '50's. Communists infected Texas.
However, the economy of Vietnam is booming in the last 10 years.
