Safety
Wow, so happy to be back. Arrived last night at 11 PM and was at my place by Midnight. Woke up and by 10 AM had the refrigerator full, everything un-packed, hit the ATM machine and withdrew 5. 4 Million Pesos, went to the Poblado Metro Station, loaded up my Civica, and arrived at ground zero at 10:30 AM, besides visiting again at 12:30 PM and again at 2:30 PM. I wanted to get some perspective after being gone a while.
This Sunday was not like any other Sunday I have ever observed at ground zero. Sunday's are always the slowest and worst days to be in El Centro for girls, but for some reason lots of times on Sundays I have good luck. Upon arriving at 10:30 AM, it was slim pickings, albeit seemed to be more girls out at that hour on a Sunday but I didn't like anything I saw so I called one of my regulars and she happened to be near by and met me in front of Hotel Nutibarra and we walked over to Hotel Deseos just down the block from the airport bus stop. She's early thirties and 5'11" tall, and slim, and a nympho, just what I was looking for to start the day and all in. I always have a difficult time understanding her Spanish, but understood enough and asked her about what had been going on over the past three months with all the robberies and video's that have been posted about here. She said there has been a heavy duty escalation of robberies over the past three months, with the difference being that instead of two or three guys now there are whole groups of guys like 6 to 8 attacking people. And apparently these groups are sometimes a mixture of both Colombians and Venezuelans working together which I found odd. The thing that she did say that was very alarming though was about how violent the robberies are nowadays with people getting knifed to death and not much said about it. She also said lots of the locals are also not visiting EL Centro as much anymore as well which makes perfect sense given that literally 100% of the victims are locals. She also said that the current times where reminiscent of the Pablo Escobar days as she remembered as a small child with all kinds of violence.
After my session with her, at 12:30 PM I went back over to ground zero and took a bunch of laps. What surprised me was how many more girls were out working on a Sunday during the middle of the day. Anyways, I decided to go swim laps at the pool in Bellen and hoped in a cab, and what a workout. On Saturday, and the entire week before I had been in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico ocean swimming and snorkeling everyday, but it was with flippers in salt water, so now no flippers and at a mile high. I got in forty minutes, showered, and hopped in a cab and arrived back at ground zero at 2:30 PM...
Would you say Medellin is still relatively safe to visit as a gringo, as long as you stay away from el centro? Planning to stay in an Airbnb around Parque Lleras.

- one example of communist country (Vietnam), where mongering is fabulous.
...
However, the economy of Vietnam is booming in the last 10 years.
Vietnam is not governed as a communist country. It is a one-party government, and that party is the Communist Party, but the makeup of the government is not communism. They do not have a dictator. The National Assembly is the governing body, and it is elected by the people through secret ballots. There is free enterprise throughout the country. Free enterprise is the reason the economy is booming.
I would not classify the mongering there as fabulous. First of all, prostitution is illegal and enforced. I don't know about other cities, but in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) I don't believe there are prostitutes promoting themselves on the streets.
"It's Not Even An Applies To Oranges Comparison?" I am surprised you did not get the dialectic logic. What I wrote is called "disproving a false statement", which is not equivalent to proving the contrary of the false statement.
1) Someone claims:
- "I like capitalist countries because they have a good hooker to john ratio", and
- prostitution is "Capitalism at its finest" while living in a socialist state is good only for nurturing blueballs.
2) I brought:
- one example of ultra-capitalist country (USA) where mongering is a nightmare and the hooker-to-john ratio is depressing;.
- one example of communist country (Vietnam), where mongering is fabulous.
I disproved a false statement, which claims a relationship between conditions that are not correlated (socialism / capitalism vs. Ease of mongering). I did not prove that socialist countries are where mongering is at its best.
Probably now someone will rebut that USA has been approaching socialism since after the '50's. Communists infected Texas.
However, the economy of Vietnam is booming in the last 10 years.
No I didn't get it, with diallectric logic being way over my head what ever it is. My comparison was based solely on the sex act comparisons, with no consideration of whether it was from a capitalistic or communist country. But I get what your saying now. So much of the time my little head is doing the thinking when I read these posts. LOL.

As your aware, the Country used to be two Countries (North Vietnam and South Vietnam) up until the early seventies. With South Vietnam being free, not communist up until that time. While travelling around the Country I noticed a stark difference from the North in Hanoi and Saigon in the South. When I was there, there were hookers on the streets in Saigon, not a lot, but I found them, and took them to my Hotel, but maybe that has changed now.

US and mongering
First time I hear someone hinting that in USA there is a good hooker / John ratio.
Dallas, TX, USA: $20 to have a dancer in front of me, not closer to me than 20 cm, with security at same distance from my shoulders checking that the distance limit to the dancer was obeyed.
Ho-Chi-Minh, Vietnam: $25 for 1 hour FS with a 20 yo babe.
The flag bearer of capitalism looks like UGANDA with homosexuals; If the american GESTAPO catch you paying for sex, it is worse than a DUI; you will loose your job, your freedom and maybe listed as a sex offender unless you have money and lawyers like ROBERT KRAFT.

Tijuana vs Medellin cops
I would not let your guard down in El Centro, shit happens when you least expect it. I don't know how many times or how much experience you have there, but it is not like Tijuana, with one of the differences being the last thing you want to see in Tijuana are the Police. Again watch your back, especially if your an obvious gringo. As your aware the ladrones are always looking for people with something of value, and their mindset is that all foreigners have something of value, and hence are on the top of the list as potential targets.
On a positive note, no lockdowns this coming weekend and the curfew has been relaxed until midnight, meaning there will be lots of partying going on in town.
In Tijuana, if you see something say nothing; especially to the cops who are in bed with bad guys. The only time I was robbed in Tijuana was by the cops when they"searched" my pockets ($200).
I trust the cops much more in Colombia and they are usually very foreigners friendly.

I feel you
Your complaint is reasonable. I don't even expect average intelligence at a mongers board, but some posts are just retarded / brain-damaged, and I couldn't help responding. I know the thread is about sex, but don't you feel pathetic dealing with miserably stupid people? Plus, how could you assume that these people have an accurate understanding and information of what's going on in the game?
Times are rough, unique, maybe that allows for a little slack on non-mongering content here, I dunno, not my job to decide. A stretch would be any and all content is fair game because according to a lot of social theories sex is what makes the world go round, and those of us with a why chromosome (fucking auto editor on the site sucks! Just turn it the fuck off would be an improvement) are ruled by the Power of the Pussy, jajaja. OK, too big of a stretch. But it does show how guys here think. I am not prejudiced against race, color, religion, creed, ethnicity, political affiliation, height, weight, penis length, penis girth, food preferences, educational background or lack thereof, IQ, mono-lingual, bisexual, sexual orientation, satyrs, ascetics, favorite television shows, favorite colors, alcoholics, addicts, picky eaters (truth is I cannot hang out much with picky eaters, unless we never go eat). But there are more than a few guys here who cannot follow a thread of logic or reasoning through a simple point let alone an entire argument. So yeah, consider the source when that same guy switches back over to mongering, jaja.

Vietnam actually fought a war against Cambodia (Pol Pot) who tried to put traditional communism in place. Nonetheless, Vietnam has a similar strange hybrid communist / capitalist authoritarian government to China, though Vietnam's is more liberal in some ways. I think you're confusing communism with authoritarianism and single party government.
Would you say Medellin is still relatively safe to visit as a gringo, as long as you stay away from el centro? Planning to stay in an Airbnb around Parque Lleras.
It depends.
Botero Plaza is a major tourist attraction and it is in El Centro. The tourist area is fine during daytime when there is obvious police presence. When there is a protest, the police may be diverted to protest, then El Centro is not safe without the police.
In El Poblado, you want avoid to be alone in a quiet area. When you wait for Uber, it is better to wait inside the building if it is a quiet street.

I have not noticed street girl scene in major city. You need to go to rural area to see something that is closer to street scene for about $10 a pop if my conversion is correct. You can find street girls in border town next tp China. It is weird all of a sudden this and another thread are talking about Vietnam.
These countries are still communist countries. One can have private property but only if the party allows you to own them, and they can take it back in a heartbeat. Just look at what happens to Alibaba now. The power is spread between several positions but one person can occupy all positions.
