I hosted 2 Thai senior educators for 2 nights in my home in Australia some years ago now and they completely flooded my bathroom (including the mats on the floor). A Lao girl in my hotel room in Vientiane last year also managed to put 1 cm of water across the floor in my bathroom. I cannot explain it.

I guess we just ignore that aspect and enjoy the side benefits.

Just look at the design of Asian bathrooms, a lot of times there's not even a divider for the shower area, it's just all tile and there's a drain [B]for the room[/B]. It's assumed it's going to be wet in there. I'm the same damn way so it doesn't bother me, I like to just fling water anywhere, but I can see how it would get on most westerners' nerves.

I installed a rod and shower curtain, but 95% of the time I am the only one that closes it. Thai chicks don't put water all over the countertop as Pinays do.

Most Pinay CR has a non flushing toilet bowl, a barrel of water and water scoop with handle. The floor has a drain hole. To bath they scoop water from the water barrel and pour onto themselves wetting the floor. To flush the toilet they scoop water from the barrel and pour it down the toilet.

They do not "flush" the toilet if they are just [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord112][CodeWord112][/url]. I have noticed many times my lovely Pinays do not flush the hotel toilets if they are just [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord112][CodeWord112][/url].

In the 1980's I noticed even the 4-5 star Hong Kong hotels had no shower curtains or dividers, just a drain in the middle of the floor. Water got everywhere, all over the toilet and sink.

Like many of us, I also stroll dating sites before going to visit some honeypot city and this works surely best for the Philippines I believe. Now recently more than before I had girls proposing to come and pick me up from the airport and I was wondering what is your experience with this and what do you think is the reason for them to do so.

They are masters at getting you to reveal your info. For instance you arrive, get a sim, she says why you need a sim card, you are with me.

Arrive in hotel, she will check out all your bags. " oh why so many condom, we are together ".

You will have no privacy as you are now hers.

She will know your hotel, room, maybe has even seen your real name.

Arrive, get to hotel, get organized then invite her over. Not at the airport.

I reported an extreme instance around 18 months ago about a girl meeting a guy at the airport, escorting him to his hotel, settling in his room and, to cut a long story short, soon after her boyfriend arrived and they robbed him of all his possessions. Professional con-artists.

This is an extreme example and FF details many of the things that can happen. You will meet some girls about whom you are comfortable about bringing back to your hotel; others will ring alarm bells and you will want to use a short-time hotel instead. It's difficult to judge them until you actually meet them.

I am certain some guys will jump on here and say they always have girls meet them at the airport and it always works out well for them.

That's OK too, but I prefer to assume, especially for the Phils, that "if something can go wrong, it will". After 20 years living here, this assumption works for me.

- You are always on a business trip. When you are "working" you are unreachable.

- Your boss or customer or colleague is picking you up and dropping you off.

- (If your budget allows, your stuff is all kept at the "office", I. E. Your cheap hotel dive near your nice one.).

- You don't know what hotel you will stay in until you arrive because "the company" arranges it. This has an advantage in case a clever Pinay sees the name renting the room. "That's our firm's travel manager. ".

- If you are or can fake an office-type, you're an accountant. If you're blue collar through and through, you're a security consultant.

- Generally blame anything she doesn't like about your schedule or whereabouts or even energy level on "work".

On my second trip to the PI I had a penpal meet me at the airport. The whole family showed up, and I ended up paying for the jeepney. This girl had a drug user boyfriend who offered to marry her, but the father said "no. " Of course, all this was unknown to me.

The whole trip I was stuck with her, even though she wasn't into me, and there were zero sparks. My stay with the family was great, but romantically and sexually it was a zero. Mom and dad were hoping she would choose me over the POS boyfriend--that didn't happen. In retrospect, I was a newbie who got played from the first moment.

Don't let her meet you at the airport. Make it clear that you are a free agent. This is your leverage. --Not that you're going to manipulate somebody, but you're not some idiot who's going to get screwed. She has to up her game, and at the first moment you feel you are getting used you can move on.

Assuming you are a first timer here its no wonder you ask. When I was a very nube to the pinay scene I thought it would be fun to give the "girl meet me at the airport" a shot. And it worked out just fine. She brought her chaperone (another girl) and they drove me to my hotel and we boinked (the chaperone waited at the mall close by). But even so it was stressful times because I wasn't able to do my usual preparations solo.

In aftermath I never did it again because I think its plain stupid and represent a risk factor you don't need in Phils. There are huge loads of willing young pukie standing around to meet you and even come to your hotel or wherever you want to meet them at.

I soon found out arriving alone (airport / hotel), get installed, stock up with beers / drinks, shower and shit is the way to go before playtime starts. Everything told you here is very sound advice.

What a great story and a great experience. Most of us would like to hear more of the story.

Thank you for confirming my guts feeling to not get into this warm welcoming procedure. Setting up base is probably the best thing to do before getting out there. I was pleasantly surprised about the amount of feedback you guys came with. Nice to see this community alive.

Then another question; I will be staying in Manila way to short but those 5 nights, even though during weekdays, I would like to take some girl dancing in a club and have some nice time before getting back home. Any suggestions what club is worth visiting these days in Makati? I am from Holland and I really appreciate good electronic dance music!

I have a question to the experienced mongers which is kinda similar to what Lloydd72 asked:

When I was living in Philippines many girls offered me to go with to their farms or their villages which are usually located 1-4 hours from the city, I always declined as I was in Davao and roaming around Mindanao is a big no-no for me, soon I will go and live in Cebu and when I get these offers in Cebu I might say yes, though before I say that yes which I might regret so I want to take your opinion guys regarding what the girls are expecting / aiming for with these offers?

And how about me if I went with a girl lets say to her farm so what type of experience / atmosphere should I expect?

Actually, they were great people trying to doing the best for their daughter, who was totally smitten (unbeknownst to me) with a drug-using POS.

This was in the old days before the internet. The parents were encouraging their daughter to meet and marry a foreigner. At that point I was lonely, desperate, and would have married her because I found it hard to believe that any Filipina might be interested in me. She had a number of foreigners writing to her via old-fashioned letters, but I was the only one who included a coupon (available at your local post office) which was good for free international postage. The parents said that this was a factor in them choosing me over other men writing to her. International postage of a buck or two was a financial burden for the family.

I gather that many of the men corresponding with her were armchair masturbators who sent her vulgar messages, and one who sent her a pair of panties in the mail. For the losers who think that this is a game-winning move, she told me when she recounted the incident, "What am I supposed to do with these?" She had no use for them.

I'll always remember that trip because it was my first taste of province life--drinking bahalina with Coke, seeing a gecko fall onto someone's hand, attending a barrio fiesta (I paid for our table.), hearing neighbors sing every song in the Tom Jones repertoire--which surprised me--listening to the story of a fisherman who saw his brother get a cramp underwater and slowly slide down into the depths, never to return. In time I realized the house had no running water, that there was no garbage service (so it was burn and bury), and that the parents had given up their bedroom for me. It was the first time I saw Filipinos eat with their hands: I was the only person at the table with a spoon and fork.

If you follow the news, the mayor of Albuera was just killed in a jail raid, and his son Kerwin was the Visayas' number one drug dealer. I know Albuera because this is where I stayed with my penpal's family and attended the town fiesta.

I remember that trip for a million reasons, all of them good, except romantically and sexually it was a total loss. She just wasn't into me, and I didn't know why. It was only later that I put the pieces together.

I didn't know then that I had options. If I had known that I would have had leverage, or I could have simply moved on. I should have arrived at Ormoc (near Albuera) on my own. If she was distant and cold, as turned out to be the case, I could have delivered the ultimatum, as I've learned to do. It's not a threat, it's not coercion--it's a simple statement of the facts: if you're not into me sexually, fine; I will go elsewhere. This very quickly eliminates the bullshit.

So I stayed the whole two or three weeks, and it was a wonderful trip, with the exception that she and I went nowhere.

I went back to the US, and later received an odd letter. She had borrowed her mom's wedding ring, but had lost it or it had fallen down the sink--I forget which. She needed me to send her money so she could buy a replacement so she wouldn't get into trouble. As dumb as I was then, something sounded wrong. I told her honesty was the best policy.

How ironic, because her story was a lie. She had become pregnant by the POS boyfriend and had moved in with him. The guy came to the father to ask permission to marry her, but dad said no. When you turn down a guy who offers to marry your pregnant daughter, things are bad indeed.

The parents wrote me eventually, asking if there was ever anything between the two of us, and explaining the situation. I had to answer no.

Believe it or not--and it's painful for me to admit it--I was so desperate and naive that I was still going to meet her and be her "savior. " Thank God at the last minute I realized just how stupid that was, and I wrote to tell them that, no, I wasn't going back to Albuera.

The moral of this long story (and there's even more to it) was that you may show up in the Philippines and there are hidden agendas. Everybody will know what's going on except you. You DO have options, if you are smart enough to play them. You can't put all your eggs in one basket, especially because you've stumbled into the middle of a situation as one clueless bastard. Everyone will talk about your "girlfriend's" boyfriend or husband right in front of your face in Cebuano, and you will sit there like a grinning idiot.

You have to be independent and make it clear that you will move on to multiple other options if it's not working out. If she meets you at the airport you are controlled from moment one and effectively surrender your leverage and options.
