[/QUOTE]I definitely need to learn more spanish, it would be an understatement to say that there are lots of awkward pauses when I am hitting on a girl in Colombia, I have very very basic skills. I don't have a lot of time to study spanish but I am going to try to fit it into my schedule, I noticed that many of the working girls like to talk it up and be social before the deal goes down, and the awkward silences and the misunderstood phrases cause them to get bad vibes.

I agree with some comments about the attitude of girls in LDV, it sometimes seems that most have agreed on a price and all quote something similar in the high end for short term.

I will try to go again today late (at around 2 am) and see how it works and if not successful will try to make it to Elektra. I live in Bocagrande so LDV is better in terms of transport. But I think, based on the reports, that I should try Elektra.

Will report how it goes.

If anybody is in the area, would be nice to share a beer in either LDV or Elektra.

This may slightly off topic. Apologize for that in advance. I tried sending e-mails to book apartments in Cartegena after reading the "Cartegena Apartment and Hotels" section. But I did not receive any responses. Hence I chose to post here.

Can you please suggest where I can book a good apartment quickly for my trip for the end of this week in Cartagena

Prices in bars, restaurants, chicas, clubs is up 2, 3, 4X! I lived there for six years. Moved 1 year ago to Sosua.

Just recently spent a week in Cartagena and wanted to thank Travel69 for the List, Urbanwildlife for his primer, and everyone else for posting their experiences to assist others like me in making it easier during my stay.

Overall I enjoyed CTG although it is relatively more expensive than MDE. IMHO I would rather go back to CTG than MDE because I got to meet Paisas, and women from Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cartagena, Cali, Antioqia, and Bogota. If you are strictly going as a budget monger then I suggest visiting MDE for the daytime casas which have excellent value.

I stayed at Juan Ventura's apartment in Laguito overlooking the ocean. Only two complaints I had were the pillows were very worn and no Internet access. The next day Juan Ventura provided two new fluffy pillows and a dial up usb connection. However I was unable to use my Magic Jack. I did get a WIFI connection in the hallway and was able to use the Magic Jack then.

I suggest getting to know one of the two local sluts who hang out outside of the area, Sandra and Claudia. I sessioned with Sandra and she is quite the professional. As a bonus, she provides a great massage. 120K COP for the 1st visit and 60K COP for every visit after that. Let her know you want the regular rate after the 1st visit.

LDV and Elektra had the best chicas and if you have the patience and time would suggest you wait till you get to Elektra at 3am for half price sessions.

Rocio casa sucked during our visit there during the day. They claimed to have 40 chicas when I called but when we arrived there were only 4 low quality there.

Los Angeles was a hit as we found a couple of 9's there and sessioned right away for 150K COP 1 hour. We returned and sessioned another day with the same chicas for 100K COP 1 hour. The deal with this place is if the taxi guy happens to hang out there and wait, he gets a 40K COP cut. So just have them drop you off and flag a taxi when you leave. Highly Recommend.

Pleyclub had 2 stunners but wanted too much for onsite. Got a number and tried calling her over the next couple days but she never answered or responded. This turned out to be the norm as most chicas go to sleep late in CTG and sleep all day. We never saw the nightclub chicas at the beach.

We did see other chicas at the beach but they were low quality. When I did find one doable one, she wanted too much for Short time, thus we never sessioned with a beach chica.

The LDV chicas, if we were able to get a hold of them during the day, did session for 100K COP for short time. The average prices at LDV were 150-200K COP for short time.

My best experience was a gorgeous freebie from Colombian Cupid and she became my girlfriend during my stay until she had to get back to Barranquilla.

The city itself is hot and not that great, but the women there are as nice as anywhere in Colombia. Of course if you must have the real light skined girls then other citys may be more to your liking.

Is IMHO the best hotel for the money in BAQ. 4 stars for 90K and total girl friendly. When I was there last year breakfast was included in the price. Not far from Lusitania, and very close to the college in the North (best section) part of the city.

Though I never lived there, I do visit often enough to know that you can find daytime privado fun for

$40 up to $75 for the end places, and I've found some beauties in those higher end privados.

If you stay away from the touristy night clubs at night and stick to some of the less fancy ones, you can find nice chicas.

For $50 to $100 to hang with you from 2 to 3 hours to all night depending how you guys jive.

I personally choose Colombia or Brazil first though because IMO the girls are much more loving there.

Also, the breakfast is a total bummer, all the have is some bread, scrambled eggs, orange juice and some nasty looking fruit salad. None of which I bothered with, despite being african-hungry.

Thumbs up about the girl-friendly, absolutely indeed. So much so that I regretted registering the girl too at check in (35. 000 pesos on top) as there was no need at all to do so and the farce of a breakfast wasn't worth a cent anyways.

This was about a week ago. All in all not a bad place to stay at, but book the room for one person only!

I definitely agree with Ricker about the Brasileira being my 1st choice then the Colombiana. I just need to learn Portuguese before I go back again. Until I do, Colombia is my 1st choice for now.

Just wondering if things have changed. I used to get girls from LDV. Stayed at Tocahagua.

Worked out at the Hilton gym for free, they always let me in without questioning where I stayed.

Always go to the source: the Paraguayana flatbackers doing all-comers in high volume BA venues don't hold a candle to what you find on their native soil, For those who know Paraguay.
