I am looking for a place where I would like to hang out, do a little mongering, a little partying. And along the way meet real people. So, my questions is more tourist / non pro centered.

Can we start a recent thread discussing the people and how they behave to gringos. Men and women. Really, I am looking for a little insight into the types of things that would best prepare me for a 2. 3 week long visit. Probably, no wingman. But, that's OKAY. I make friends quick. Plus, I am lucky.

Ok for starters I don't hate anyone here. Just sometimes myself because I am still wondering WHY I ever married my first wife.? Thinking with the little head downthere never is advisable.

AtZon: welcome here. PY is a nice country to monger but you NEED to speak spanish. If you NOT speak it. You will get lost. But I assume you speak spanish.

I myself too was rather found of the DR. But for personal reasons I choose to live in PY. However I know in the DR you have many many pretty women.

However I think in PY you have more personal freedom.

PY women are quite the opposite of DR women in many ways. They tend to be shy and timid. But thats only the first impression IMHO

My first visit to Asuncion was a turning point in my life. Because it was there that I got introduced to "la vida nocturna", by a friend & colleague who had been stationed in Asuncion for several years, who knew the "hot spots, " and who wanted to share the delights of "las paraguayitas" with me. I had been without a girlfriend for well over a decade, before my first "vida loca" visit to Asuncion; that visit was a great turning point in my life.

Paraguay is a relatively poor country with a low gross domestic product. Consequently the price of visiting is low. Good lodging is inexpensive, dinner out is "muy economico, " nightclubbin' is cheap as well. And this leaves a visitor from a "rich" country (such as the USA in my case) with plenty of money in his pocket. You can take your sweetie to a good restaurant (like Aquarela, the Hacienda de las Palomas, or the Paulista Grill. All in Villa Morro) for less than you'd pay to go to a cheap place in Washington, DC, by yourself. You can easily afford the little gifts and generosities that'll sweeten her even more. And even the way that "first-world" gentlemen are accustomed to treat our dates, leave the Paraguayita feeling like a princess!

In return, those I've been with made me feel like a King!

But do realize that Paraguay is landlocked, and its low economy means there aren't a whole lot of "interesting" things to see and visit and do. Other than improving your Spanish with "una diccionaria con pelo largo", and all the pleasures that go with this "Great Game. "

(And as I think of these pleasures, I'm wondering if it's time for a fresh visit!)

While conventional thinking says Paraguay is land-locked, I'd argue that the river border makes it less "land locked" than say Bolivia or Afghanistan. But yeah, it's kind of boring culturally. No famous paraguayan authors, musicians, playwrights, inventors, or anything that I am aware of. However, and importantly, I have mongered on five continents and paraguayas can remove their clothing faster than any other women on the planet I have encountered so far. BTW nationalities are not capitalized in español so don't flip me any shit about that.

Well here are good news.
