Manrique in la 45 is on another level in terms of how locals party and chill on a weekend. Pre-pandemic, I'll just say it was buck wild and I love it. If there was a decent airbnb in that barrio, I'll def stay there for a few days. I wouldn't recommend heading out there in Manrique for a newbie or someone with no Spanish skills or go at it alone.

Before I get started I want to do a quick breakdown of what routes exist for mongering in Medellin, Colombia. I have to give a special Shoutout to Mojo Bandit and Pollonegro for helping me navigate this process. Quick background about me I am an AA, mid 20's, speak NO Spanish, average built and average looking. First ever mongering experience. When going to Medellin, there are mostly 3 routes to take. I will talk about each path and explain the benefits and downsides of each.
El Centro (also known as ground zero), this is basically downtown where chicas are hanging out at every corner, the process is simple you find a good-looking gal go to her and ask how much. Pricing is usually 50 k (from what I have heard) for an hour or 2. You also have to get a hotel (usually 9 k-15 k). Benefits to this path, hella cheap (70 k altogether), the girls here are not stuck up and are pros, so any fetish goes. The downside, mostly all of them speak Spanish, so you need to learn Spanish, even if it's a few phrases. This area can also be dangerous if you are a gringo. You also have to dress like a bum to fit in. The girls may be worn out since they are there for 8 hour shifts 4-5 times a week. You have to really look around to find a 9/10. I personally did not want to take this risk since riots were happening while I was there, I also did not want to learn Spanish since my trip was only for a few days and booked last min. On the casas, it's not always mechanical and the experience can vary quite a bit. In my opinion there's an art to selecting a girl from the lineup. With Facebook girls, I've found most are willing to hang out. I would recommend dropping your max taxi charge. 20-25 k will get you from Bello to Poblado.

The point is, to get the best deal you have to look around at the different banks and their limits, exchange rates and service fees. Oh, and you can and should refuse the exchange rate offered at the ATM, that is simply an extra service fee being charged by that bank. 90% of the time your ATM withdrawal will continue if you refuse their exchange rate, although I have been to a couple of ATM's in Medellin where refusing would kick you out and end the transaction.

Casa's or mileroticos (website). The average cost varies a lot depending on location and girl. For Casa's I have heard 80 k and up for an hour.
