The opening looks like it will start soon with safe Asian countries, then Australia and New Zealand where the virus has been eliminated. Countries from anywhere in the Americas and the EU that have not controlled the spread will not be welcomed until they have eliminated the virus. Regimes like Vietnam have worked hard to lock down their citizens to eliminate the spread while other countries were arguing for their rights to open up early and party, while the virus is still spreading. Once in awhile there is something positive to be said about totalitarian/communist countries because they controlled it and are now enjoying full freedom without worrying about the virus.
I have read articles saying that even when Vietnam partially reopens, travel will restricted to select areas like Phu Quoc Island where any potential spread can be monitored and if necessary confined to smaller areas. For international travelers there is also the issue whether they even be allowed to transit through other countries to get to Vietnam.

I'm an expat living in Vn 3 yrs and I want to ask: have you tried to approach / pick up a regular vn girl? How did that go?
After 3 years living here I am still shocked on how.
Unapproachable, shy and socially retarded some of these girls are.
There is this one guy on "[URL]mysexpedition.com[/URL]" site claiming he is picking up 19 yo girls here in VN but my guess is a flat out liar.
The language barrier does not even seem to be the problem: even if I speak Vietnamese my guess is I the have the same reaction: the look on their faves seem uncomfortable, unwelcoming, just like you are an alien from another planet.
Anyway, I just want to know if you can share your thought about this.

They make up for it by being better looking and more passionate when you can get them. You need to invest a little time and effort. You will be well rewarded later. My best experience were with a bit older girls, 30's and up. The younger ones you can use money but the relationship won't last. I have several LTR in Saigon, Hanoi, Hue, Vung Tau. It takes time, but I am glad I have those.

Most girls on the web are "owned" by a pimp or group of pimps. Vietnam is among most corrupted and most-controlled population in the world. Prostitutes are no exception. The pimps are known to pull switcheroos on punters very frequently. The pimps has to pay heavy fees to local officials so if any girl who want to work independent is asking for trouble, from police arrest to physical harm by enforcers. Now knowing that won't change the fact that the grils has certain freedom to make the most money for her and her pimps. They can appear bargaining with you on price and services as if there is no pimps, but like the rest of the population, they are under strict control. The free market appearance are just window dressing. The Vietnamese term for the P4 P girls is "ha'ng" which means litterally "goods" (for sale). This terms implies there is a boss who owns those "goods" (for sale).

That's why we so patiently read up on the local threads on ISG, hoping to session with these girls cheaper or in greater abundance. Unfortunately, most of the time it's not the case, especially with Vietnamese girls. In my 6-7 trips there in the last 10 years, I feel that I got better service from Viets in #1 - Singapore, #2 - Macau, and #3 - Kuala Lumpur. I also had a couple times in Thailand and Laos. I also agree that the Viet girls generally are more beautiful and more enjoyable.
The same is true with Eastern European girls. You will get better luck with Hungarian, Lithuanian, Polish & Romanian girls, etc, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, than in their own countries. Just my own personal experiences.

I've watched some videos on Youtube about Saigon KTV girls. (I assume that KTV means karaoke bar).
Can you get FS service from these girls or are you just paying them to entertain you while you drink?
Just trying to understand the scene before I go and waste my time trying to learn on my own.

I have been to Vietnam several times in the last 10 years. I find the very pretty Vietnamese working girls more satisfying outside Vietnam: Hong Kong, Laos, Macau, Kuala Lumpur & Singapore.
Bear in mind the prostitution is illegal in Vietnam. So like USA, there are scammers, bait-switch operations, extortionists, even corrupt cops, all in the game. I am not discouraging you. Read the posts on ISG going back 3-4 years to get a feel of the mongering scene. Use common sense, think with your brain, not your dick. Anything that-s too good to be true is too good to be true. On my first visit to HCMC, I was picked up by a stunningly beautiful and sexy mid-20 yo girl on a motorbike who quoted a very cheap price. I hopped on her bike, she took me through a deserted road (it was around 10 PM) where we were stopped by thugs. The girl took off as soon as I got off her bike. The thugs body-searched me and took my cash. They were nice to leave me 20 k dong so I could get a Xe-om (motorbike taxi). Luckily I had nothing with me except just enough cash for a session (having developed the habit of only taking enough cash to use for the evening).
Having said that, the massage parlors and Barber Shops on the other hand are totally safe. Other that quoting a higher price for foreigners which you can negotiate, they will provide the expected services, many with enthusiasm if you are a foreigner because they rarely have foreign clients. However, the girls are not very stunningly beautiful.
