Are those mostly non-negotiable or are they? I read that the standard rate would be 3.5k, but then again, so if you might see a girl at a rate of 4. 5k I can imagine you can get it down, but then there are boatloads of girls with an asking price 8k. Do you just accept these prices or have you successfully tried to negotiate them down.

haven't posted in a while. a recent pm of appreciation (you know who you are) encouraged me to share these three with fellow mongers.
the first one is easy : 236 zhang chun (long spring) road, one block west of jianguo n. road. going west on zhang chun road from fuxing n. road, you will pass an elementary school on the left side. go half a block more and you will see a fancy (expensive) massage place on the left. don't go into to that one. instead, go one more store down to the purple sign with the two yellow characters sign, the scrappy shop.
i tend to like the skinnier types: give me a nice tush over a big rack any day! #3 from guangxi (like guangdong, except west instead of east) fits the bill. she's only 41kg and shy of 30, the tiny, spinner type. in terms of overall face and body, one of the best i have been able to find in these joints. recently, she moved from the main shop (further down the street west on zhang chun) because it is being renovated. at 236, they are holding a promotion of nt900 for regular and nt1200 for oil. i recommend the oil with #3. any drawbacks? #3 only works from 11am to 7pm and her service can be extremely erratic. she actually gives a fantastic r-and-t when she's not tired, to the extent that i do recommend that you tip her more than the regular nt500 if you like her service. however, if she's especially tired that day, you might get really crappy service. i mean crappy to the point that i didn't even want to tip anything and didn't see her for a couple months. but if you get her on a normal day, there's a good chance you'll repeat.
the second shop is harder to get to. there also used to be a #5 at 236 that i liked but she changed to this second, different shop during renovation. this one is tougher to get to, but definitely worth the trip. yangping n. road is really far west and north in taipei. if you are heading west, one road beyond chongqing north road. you want to go north on yangping n. road for a while, past the night market and past all the scooter shops, all the way to past the zhong shan highway overpass. to give you an idea how far north this is, to get there, i usually scooter west on minquan west road until i get past chongqing north road and then make a right onto yangping n. road. go for about 10 minutes pass the night market (check it out on the way back) and the scooter shops. the first landmark is the highway overpass. another 30 seconds, you will see a new, flashy discovery hotel on the left and a vietnamese massage place to the right (i don't have the address atm, but it's right on yangping). the vietnamese massage place is the only one in the area. if you see a nice, new condominium right after the shop on the right, you're in the right place. in case you are wondering, i lost track of #5 from 236 after i discovered #77 on yangping n. road.
you've made the trek to this predominantly vietnamese shop: you want #77 here. like i mentioned before, i'm an ass guy, but damn, #77 has a nice rack. firm, soft, real, great shape/size and sensitive. wtf - gotta stop writing about racks or i'd lose my rep as an ass-man, but damn, every time i think about #77's rack, my mouth starts watering. nice face and ass, too. gf-like service and there's not much to complain about. #77 is a vietnamese who came to taiwan when she was 18. her mandarin is excellent: her pronunciation is definitely better than most vietnamese and in fact, i would say better than mine. late 20's or early 30's. only drawback? she only works after 7pm or so. at this shop, there is only one price: nt1300 for a 2h oil massage (includes a shower). #77 also deserves a nt500+ tip if you get the level of service that i'm used to getting from her. very gf-like. don't forget to check out the night market on yangping n. road on the way back.
at least 80% of you have already tl; dr this message. but for those of you patient enough to read this far, there is one last one worth trying. this one is near linsen n. road. the address is 24 zhang-an (long peacful) east road, one block east of linsen n. road, so it's much more accessible than the last shop i mentioned. heading west on zhang-an east road, you will see two shops. you want the second one here: the newer, fancier-looking one with the nice store front. #26 is the mama-san type, but she has a nice bod (read this as thin, with a nice ass and almost no rack, but nipples are sensitive) and gives an excellent massage and finish. the only drawback here is, she manages all the other therapists so she often gets interrupted on the phone during the massage, so if this bothers you, go elsewhere. it usually bugs me, but her massage and finish are good enough that i keep going back to #26. a couple other notables: her hours are erratic and she will always push you to do the nt1500 oil instead of the standard nt1000. despite all these "issues", i have repeated many times, more than the other two recommendations above, and i go for the nt1500 each time. out of the 3, #26 has the best personality / is the most fun / relaxing to talk to.

2. WTF. What would you think if I flew to say, Australia, the US, or England and expect the local providers to speak Chinese? Taiwan is not like the Philippines.
3. I think it's a global supply / demand thing where, in general, the younger, the more attractive, or the greater the perceived value, the higher the price. Your observation just indicates that they put a premium on slimness / youth here. Not a big surprise. You will also find that, in general, there is also a premium on local over foreign providers (same as Japan). If you know of a country where the slimmer providers end up with a discount, please let me know.
4. If you are willing to put in the effort and have game, your assessment of price / value for p4p vs freebies is not far off the mark: search for posts by FeebieFan if you are interested. But be aware that there are also drawbacks to going for Freebies - they can become very "sticky" if you do not manage their expectations.
